    Hi Guys
    Just to let you know that Barry is having to have the operation tonight. That wasn't what we were hoping for, but i do guess the sooner it's fixed the better. He will be in for at least a week from what he said when I spoke to him a little while ago.

    Well we had an update at 11pm (i was ready to pass out). Barry is currently in intensive care, on a ventilator and drugs. We'll be allowed up to see him this afternoon.

    ...someone pass me the coffee pot please...

    Like you, I'm a little shocked & worried at the speed of all this, but in these things, speed is sometimes of the essence, so fingers crossed all will be well.

    Remind him of how he took 20% of my stack in the first hand at SPT Leeds.  Tell him there's plenty of my chips waiting for him at the next SPT so get well quickly

    Well we've just got home from the hospital. He is still in intensive care but he is awake. He is in pain (no real suprise there). He said 'i'm ok' and the doctor we spoke to said he seems to be doing fine, minus his breathing a little.

    Again he thanks everyone on the forum, and I do as well for your kind words of support. Hope to give another good update soon.

    thanks for updates alison, barry is one of the friendliest and helpful characters on this forum, his imputs have been missed. wishing him a full and speedy recovery. ps get some well earned rest as i think you gonna need it when he comes out!!
