Hi,hope you all had a merry crimbo,I know I did.Got back into proper poker tonight and lifted another 70 quid.Final tabled the 1230 11 quid bh.came 4t after being short stacked for most of the game.Pretty pleased with how I played considerin in the past when I got shorted,I woul generally just shove it in and load up again. Not now though.Wee bit of resilience maybe, who knows?Readin a lot more of the forum posts and tryin to work offf that.Deffo a change in the old noggin.
Anyway,Ive had a glass or two of a very nice cab sauv and am feelin quite merry.Got the munchies now,so off for a bite then hit the hay.
    Peace all

Hi all and a a merry new year my good folks. This is a strange one.Im full to the gillls with red wine and have a house full of nutters runnin around causin drunken merriment atm.Im gonna do somethin that I never htought Id even contemplate tryin on htis site. Not necesserally a br thread, but a see how long paul can make it last thread,Ive been a d*ck at times this year, blamin all and sundry for my beats when obv it was my own stupidity.Iv shared many a story about my personal life and posted the odd oturney win.
The thing is,I know I can play tourneys.Ive had a few decent wins in the past year or so.It just so happens that I also like to get into the red wine a wee bit too much.It is in these situations that I become the biggest tool on the tables and dont take my beats too well. That was back then.In recent times Ive had a good few months family and poker wise.Ie been well behaved and coincidentelly have much enjoyed my poker in this time.
Ive spent tthe crimbo period watchin multiple box sets, think my brains gone into overload lol.Tryin somethin diff from the norm to take my mind off the mundane stuff.Lovin the walkin dead and the blacklist atm btw.
    So!!
Ive got £295 in my account.
    How long will this last?
    Frankly,who knows.the way I play the game,it could be a day or 2!!
Not likely though. This is the new and improved me.I wont be goin for 30 quid russian roulettes on adrunken whim etc.
I know Ive got the basics sorted to a certain degree.I know I can play the game,I know if I can cut out the stupidity,I can be decent here.Make no mistakes,Im a losin player atm,but I can and I think I will turn it around and become a +ve player.
Wish me luck folks.Ill keep an interestin if not usccessful journal. There will be many a hole to pick in this thread lol.
Be good and hope2015 bring all you desire

Hey folks.Promised a wee update after each session, good or bad.Normally in the past I would have just reported the good results however few and far between they were. So,had a cash session today, not my strongest discipline, and got brutalised at it.Gotta learn the basics first(must drum that in more often lol).Prefer the tourneys tbf,but thought Id give cash a bash.Wish I hadnt lol.Ah well, back to the tourneys tonight, familiar ground.
    Balance now at £259.
p.s.8 notes on that went on new years day footy.
    Anyway,be good all
    Paul.

Hey folks.Hows the new year treatin everyone.Poker wise for myself it has been brutal. As is the norm for me,I get a nice wee br built up then p**s it away at cash.Hey ho!!!Usually would feel sorry for myself, but can have no complaints.Went to a level that was way outta my reach and predictably played like a muppet. So!!!!Reloaded this morn and played a couple of bhs,and would you beleive it?Won a wee field bh for 70 odd notes. We go again lol.
Home wise its back to school for the weeman and back to work for us.Weeman starts footy trainin next week at a "soccer school".Hate the word soccer, its football all day long.Should be fun and maybe we'll have a wee star on our hands.Ah well, laters folks.Gonna take the dog out a walk here while the snows relented.Be on later.
    Be good all

How goes it folks?Just finished a wee 11 note buy in bh for a 3rd place finish and 129 quid. Not too bad but felt I blew the gimme first place. Was chip leader with over half the chips in play 3 handed,so after a few questionable calls and bad plays by me I got it in with j9 on a j75board if memory serves. The oppo turned over queens,so goodnight and good game.Cant be too downhearted, have had a nice wee run since reloading last friday.Got my br up and runnin again so we,ll see how that goes.Gotta thank glenelg for the mini rail. Was pretty funny.Weemans got a day off school tomorrow due to pretty much bokin up all over our house tonight!yuk.pity Im workin.
Ah well will try to get a few zzzzzz before the alarm.More than likely be on again friday night.
    Be good all

Hello once again folks. As the new title suggests, not everything is rosy in the garden at home. Its been a hard few months personally.Been in and out of various docs regarding the old demons in the noggin.Had issues like this a few years ago and it didnt do me any good as I kept the problems to myself which resulted in me venturing to places in my head I didnt think Id get away from.As before,Ive seen the right doc and got the right support around me,so we are startin to see the light.More of a low wattage bulb than a large un,but we,re gettin there lol.
Not gonna whinge on a whole heap about this, but its crazy how much the brain can control even the most basic of thoughts. For a long time Ive not even wanted to go out,not talk to anyone and take as much time from work a spossible.Im also well aware there are those with bigger probs to get past. When your noggins not in the right place and youre not really lookin forward to the day ahead as far as your concerned, youre on your own.
Thank god for the weeman. His efforts at school have been one of the great reasons Ive begun to get my head around things, and his infectious smile and laugh can get the old urge for cheerin up goin.
Soz for the short and somewhat downbeat post, but just startin to feel able to get stuff off my chest.it does feel good.
Hope to close out the old demons once and for all.Fingers crossed.

Hi Paul, sorry to hear you are going through a hard time at present, what helps me is to take one day at a time and not project, sometimes I break it down to one hour at a time and focus on what is not what may be. I also want to say thanks for the words of encouragement you have given me,and your young un must be proud to have a loving caring dad like you so I hope you take this post as it is meant, you are a good man,a great dad, sometimes we forget that in ourselves and allow the dark times to rule, try to focus on positives, hard I know but you have proved you have a kind heart and that is a massive thing. Take care my good man and good luck in life.

Tom mate,if theres anyone out there thats providing inspiration, its your good self. What Im classin as my issues pale in comparison to your own struggles.Tbh,I really should have given you a proper mention in the previous post.Readin up on your story was also the kick up the backside needed to "pull myself together".The number of folk who use that phrase when you tell them youre "depressed" is unreal.Ignorance in the highest form.lol.Keep on truckin my good man.

Folks.Gotta say after losin a bit at cash this mornin,I wasnt really too keen on tryin my hand at much else.Lot of time on my hands atm what with me takin time off work and the weeman away at his out of schools club,so I loaded up a speed bh.Like the format of those atm,as cant be bothered to sit at the longer structure.Only won it!!It was only for 75 quid total but it was nice nonetheless.Got word in the post this mornin that a few sessions have been arranged with a "head"doctor to see if we can fully recover the old me.Thats great news and with the missus' 40th round the corner, theres much to look forward to.Will be keepin the old chin up.

Hey all.Been a month since I posted last,so here goes.Had 3 sessions with a doc re the old noggin and up to this point, things are improvin. The old dark clouds that were an irritatin nuisance over my head seem to be clearin.Nothins ever that easy though and theres a lot of hard work to come on my behalf to keep the good old vibes truckin on.The weemans come on leaps and bounds this year at school. So much so that to think we were worryin about his development a year or so ago is somewhat funny.Pokerwise is so poor atm its laughable, but I do try to get on with it.Sometimes that aint the case and I get so frustrated. However the help at home and from others along with the enthusiastic weeman, thigns are really comin along. So Im leavin you with this number from one of my favourite acts.Sums it all up really atm.
    Be good all
