Afternoon all.Been quite slow poker wise since friday.Did ok in the bh.Finished 26th out of 300 odd and took 8 heads along the way.Deepest I've ran in any tourney in yonks!!Got majorly lucky early on when my ace 9 took out 8s and ace king.Got to chip lead with 55 left,then proceeded to play awfully.Went out when I flopped top pair,only for oppo to turn a straight.He/she was ahead pf so never mind.Lessons will be learnt.Really enjoyed the game properly for the first time in a long while.Previous good news helped imo.Dont think weemans aware of the situation fully yet,but funnily enough a new swear word may have been learnt during the liverpool game yesterday.Played terrible and deserved to lose but not overly important in the grand scheme of things.Clicked for 165 notes on the irish lottery saturday night,so beeen a really good weekend all round )) Cheers and thanks for readin Paul
Mornin all.What a week its been.Have had so much more time on my hands what with the total lack of appointments with the weeman.Feels strange being around the house more often.Its never been tidier lol.Must say tis hard to wipe the smile off my face after last weeks good news.Unreal!Holdin my own poker wise.No wins or losses of any great note since last weeks bh.Went out of a timed tourney last night in bizzare fashion.4 limped all around to me in the bb and my 4 5 hit two pair.Happy days I thought.Threw the last of my chips in and got 1 call.From aces!!Anyway,the board paired on the river to knock me out.Would have been about £15 notes pot so was wee bit peeved,but the monster held up so no complaints.Had plenty of luck last week myself.Off out tonight to a pub quiz(aint been to one in yonks),so should be good craic.Good luck all those playin today/tonight and as always,cheers for readin. Hey folks.Another week goes by and the weeman continues to amaze.Practically speakin in sentences atm.So good to hear.His birthday on the 20th,so plans afoot to have a really special day for him.God knows I think he and the rest of us deserve it after the year we,ve had.Poker wise,its been bleurghhh alll the way since my last post.Just gettin battered when ahead or behind.Doesnt seem to matter I'm doin atm.Which leads me to this.Really dissappointed in myself earlier.Went out of the bh to a 2 outer,which brought out a side of me I thought had gone a long time ago.Thought the oppos call to my all in was rank bad play imo,but I really need to practice what I preach and get back to the understandin that its a game.So,an apology to my oppo for that one.Slap on the wrists for me lol.The weird thing is,I'm enjoyin the game more than ever,so its totally out of character.Just sat down to my first glass of red while all are asleep.mmmmm. cheers for readin folks
Hey all.Been a really great week all in all.As the title suggests,the weeman celebrated his birthday on the 20th.Such a huge difference in the family household since his last birthday.Amazin progress,speech,makin friends,comin out of his shell etc have contributed to his and my own well being.So pleasing to see him playin with other kids at the adventure park we took him to on his birthday.That deffo wasnt a sight we thought we'd see this time last year.Poker wise,its been strange.Dabbled in cash.Not sure its for me.was playin 5/5 action tables and the swings I experienced was bizzare to say the least.Was a bit dissappointed earlier when 90bbs deep I lost an all in on the river,only to see the oppo scarper faster than I could say "see ya ,sucker!!".Hope I get the chance to play him again as he was mega loose and could be taken.Even by someone like me lol.But like I say,just a wee post to say it was the weemans birthday,as this whole thread is down to him and his effect on my life. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KID. Nice lookin at that I think you'll agree.

Great to hear about the progress, i'm currently studying autism in my developmental psychology module and it's very nice to read such positive comments regarding your childs progress and the positive effect on all off you!
Poker wise my brother came up last week and you popped up in a couple of HU games against him i was watching, you seem to have a good aggressive HU game i'm sure you could grind out some decent profit playing them a decent amount, anyway gl at the tables and good to read some positive real life stuff on the forum.

Thanks man.Still not totally there yet with dealin with the bad beats in hus.Nothin bad,but never get my head around the huge swings that can occur.At least I dont get so worked up anymore that I let myself down aggro wise towards an oppo,I hope lol.Hope all goes well with the studys m8. Bizzare night tonight on the tables.Lost so many flips it was unreal.It also seemed that if I folded a random hand lie say 9 4 os,the flop was comin down 944 or the like.I'm still tryin to learn the game and not let the weird calls that hit get to me.The 2 bhs I played were basically a non event.Couldnt get goin in them at all.Gonna stick at it and try some new stuff,see where that gets me.like I always say,if I have a bad night,all I have to do is look in on the weeman sleepin,and its all good again! Hi all.Been quite a while since I last posted.Nothin really too ex citin to post.Weeman was being his usual self etc,then!You know when you think nothin means more than family or kids etc,what happened this week hit me harder than a hammer.The weeman had an accident,when he was being his usual inquisative self.Head injury and the like.At that moment,due to the nature of the fall,everything that I thought mattered,felt meaningless.The little mans ok now,but it really brought home the "whats important" issue.I know I've banged on about this for a long time but please dont let poker get the better of you.It is only a game.For the breifest of seconds,after the weemans fall,I felt so physically ill.We are all good now,thank god,and poker has been an unmitigated disaster,however,after this week,I would happily go broke every session knowin that my kid was ok. Hey all.Been a while since my last post,but here goes!!What a week indeed.Had fully intended to have a nice glass or 2 of red and a game or 2 of poker last friday when things went a little bit funky!!The weeman took quite ill to the extent that he had to go to hospital due to extreme blueness abbout the face.Rapid breathing etc.Very scary.Never seen the like before and hope never to again.Hes out now and on various medications and inhalers,which is pleasing to say the least!!!!!The side dish to the weemans recovery was that I took a few days off work to keep an eye on him and while he was havin a well earned kip,I entered the early mornin bounty hunter and only took it down!!!!I know,me winnin a tourney.Had to check it wasnt a dream lol!!Jjust chillin with a wee glass or 2 of tasty red atm while all are kippin.Think this week has been hectic to say the the least,hope I never have to go through somethin like that again with the weeman,but with kids,you never know.
