Only time limit to worry about is that entries needed by tomorrow night at the latest. after that it's up to you.
"This isn't a race, so competition ends New Years Day. Anyone needs more time to complete 100 games, no problem. Please, please, please note. This is entirely for fun, not to be taken seriously. No gripes or moans are necessary."
I noticed earlier that this thread celebrated its second birthday this week. I didn't for one minute imagine 2 years ago when I was umming and ahhing about pressing submit for the first time that it would still be running. and have nearly 1600 posts.
I'm so glad now that I did start it.
A lot has happened in that time and nearly all has been good. I've become a Dad, I've made loads of new friends and the poker has been fun as well. It's highly unlikely that I would have attended the SPT's if I hadn't done this thread and so that reason alone has made it worthwhile doing.
I've mentioned before that I was a bit of a poker loner before playing on here. I now have good friends all over the Country that I spend time with periodically and that's been wonderful. The SPT's at Birmingham and Newcastle stand out. One for the poker and one for the fun. The recent trip to Ireland was also fantastic. It's brilliant to make friends on here and then meet up and spend a weekend playing and drinking together as if you've known each other for years.
A huge thanks to everyone who's posted on here. It's great that people like Maxally, Tikay and Vespa posted on the 1st page and still pop in from time to time. Latecomers like Geldy (2nd page) still post as well. I really wasn't sure if it would have any legs as there's very little in the way of challenges and half the time I don't even mention poker. I'm always confused when people apologise for derailing the thread. For me that's when I enjoy it the most. When it goes off on different directions and people want to post.
I've thought on numerous occasions that it might all be a bit stale and boring and that it might be best to end it. The truth is that I would really miss it though and so I intend to keep rambling away for some time yet.
....
Oh, poker Had a rubbish last 10 days so tonights helped. Won 6 out of 6 Dyms. Nice profit of £122 for an hours work to end the month. ☺
I, like many I should imagine always enjoy reading it buddy. My fav time to catch up is about 5am when the tables are dying and there's no chance I can fall asleep. I'm not trying to imply that your diary sends me to sleep!
Keep up the enjoyable reading material for me and look forward to seeing you at the next live event.
Great Diary, Paul, I can't read "poker only" diaries, with all that "so the flop came" (zzzz) they bore me stiff, I like a bit of balance & you get it spot on.
Quite like your occasional* little moany-woany rants, too.
the last game of professional football i watched live in the UK happened before most of you were born.
and i can´t say i miss it (not when there are international teams like barcelona to watch)
so all this derby brentford stuff is like whoosh over my head
but its still good to see, & gives you some pub banter when needed (wow, did you see the derby brentford game the other day, would you adam and eve it!!!)
and then there is golf and golf courses. now i can get some cheap thrills from a discussion about concrete, but golf.......
but despite all that this is still the first forum thread to read when catching up. and never fails to entertain every time.

And there you have it Geldy. Different stokes
I'm not bright enough to have the intellectual, full of big word, intellectual banter that you have with Slipwater.
But fortunately for me. With Tikay, we can do simple stuff

There is ONLY one Stoke! (Gods country to some, the pits to others, granted!)

Lol, yeah typo
The A500 is great. Gets you through Stroke very quickly
In Response to Re: Ramblings of an old man : Lol, yeah typo The A500 is great. Gets you through Stroke very quickly I await the pic with some trepidation Posted by Jac35
LOL, if only. My old man was heavily involved on the management side of things of the old 'queensway' back in the late 70's. This is better known now as the a500. It is my main drag to get to and from work. It is a grind! A normal 20 min commute can take 40/50/60 mins...on a GOOD DAY!
I am getting more and more road ragey everyday! I didn't used to smoke in the mornings, but can have a couple now just on the way to work!
When the SPT finally comes to Stoke, you will be able to see this first hand.

One of the must read threads on here.
Looking forward to seeing you on the PLO8 tables :-)

* "Occasional" = daily.
"are Derby going to win today?"
"No"
"Really? They're a decent price. Brentford are nothing special"
"I know. Arsses always give us trouble though. Even more annoyingly they're Tikays team. Bound to get abuse"
Grrr, Hate it when I'm right sometimes
Harsh, but fair.
Marv.
Most interesting bit of road.
I helped build the Waste Reduction Unit near the Stadium, the Holiday Inn Express, & the Sainsbury Distribution Centre round the corner.
PS - Well done!
