General blames troops and apologises unreservedly for their lack of leadership.

What did we do to deserve this pathetic little man.

Looking at it from a different angle, Labour keeps asking for his resignation but surely the last thing they need is a leader to come in and give new promises etc and that they've learned from all of this debacle. Labour should want him to stay so they can remind the voters and attack him at the next election on all of his failings.

The Queen has always prided herself on appearing to be apolitical. To support no side over another.

1 of the many things I hated about the Brexit campaign was the shameless way Leavers portrayed her as supporting Brexit. I have no idea of her views on the subject-because that is the way Royalty operate politically.

If Johnson is in situ at any election in the future, people are going to remember the Queen. Sitting alone at her Husband's funeral. To set an example. To inspire others who suffered similar situations. Showing "leadership". And what it truly means.

Not like this poor excuse of a man.

Tory fury as police examine 300 PHOTOS of Whitehall parties: Boris offers half-apology after Sue Gray reveals twelve No10 bashes could have been criminal including FOUR he 'attended' - with Carrie in the frame
Boris Johnson still facing Tory unrest after allegations of lockdown-busting parties in Downing Street
Top civil servant Sue Gray has delivered report into claims of rule breaches, but made clear watered down
The report was published before PM made statement to MPs at 3.30pm, amid fears aides will have to quit
Tory temperature has risen again after revealed police are probing 12 'parties' and four Mr Johnson 'attended'
Ex-No10 official Nikka da Costa said Mr Johnson stopped plans to allow bereaved families to 'bubble'

Boris Johnson was lashed by Tories today as he delivered a half-apology after the Sue Gray report condemned 'failures of leadership and judgment' in Downing Street. The top civil servant revealed police are now investigating twelve bashes as potentially criminal - including four allegedly attended by the PM and some involving wife Carrie. In a worrying sign for Mr Johnson detectives have been handed an astonishing 300 photographs. Running the gauntlet of the Commons an hour after the six-page report was finally published, Mr Johnson admitted people had been forced to make 'sacrifices' in lockdown and he understood their 'anger'. He said he was now making changes, hinting at a clearout of top aides and announcing the creation of an Office of the Prime Minister to support him. But the contrition did not last long, as he used the ongoing police probe as a shield and bullishly insisted he is 'getting on with the job I was elected to do' - 'delivering' on issues such as Brexit and levelling up. No10 made clear that no officials have been sacked, although a notorious wine fridge is apparently being removed from the building and restrictions could be imposed on drinking at desks. The first ministerial resignation emerged tonight as Guildford MP Angela Richardson revealed she quit as an aide to Michael Gove over Partygate last week. In a statement on Facebook, she said: 'Sue Gray's report published today clearly states that there were failings at Number Ten Downing Street that let us all down.'

SNP's Westminster leader Ian Blackford is KICKED OUT of the Commons for calling Boris Johnson a liar over Partygate

Ian Blackford was told to leave the chamber after accusing the Prime Minister of having 'wilfully misled Parliament'. He was given several opportunities to withdraw the word 'wilfully' - meaning it was done deliberately - by Speaker Lindsay Hoyle, but refused to do so. He then walked out the chamber as the Speaker officially ordered him from the green benches. It came as Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon waded into the row.

The Boris criminal probes in full: Gray report reveals TWELVE parties being investigated by the Met - including PM's birthday, a bash in his flat to celebrate ousting Dominic Cummings and the No10 Christmas party

Sue Gray's update on the Partygate scandal has revealed 12 events held in Number 10 and across Whitehall are now subject to formal police investigations.

'Did the rules not apply to him?' Theresa May leads Tory fury at Boris Johnson and Labour's Keir Starmer says 'PM without shame' must quit

The former prime minister, who was ousted and replaced by Mr Johnson in 2019, said the public 'had a right to expect (him) ... to set an example' after the report was released today. The much reduced paper revealed that police are probing 12 events in Downing Street including several the PM attended and an alleged party held in his private flat in No11. Mrs May was joined in her criticism by several other Tories including former chief whips Andrew Mitchell and Mark Harper.

Boris Johnson to ask Sue Gray for new ‘partygate’ report

Boris Johnson will ask Sue Gray to produce a new report into “partygate” allegations in an attempt to quell growing anger from his Tory backbenchers and save his premiership.

There ARE photos of Boris at 'criminal' Downing Street parties, Dominic Cummings claims: Ex-adviser blasts PM and Carrie saying that witnesses could spill beans about 'hearing Abba playing' in their flat

As the Prime Minister faced continuing pressure over the PartyGate saga his former righthand-man lashed out at his former boss and his wife Carrie over allegations of rule-breaking gatherings during lockdown. Speaking to followers in an online Q and A on the Substack website Mr Cummings (top) said that an alleged event in the couple's No11 flat on November 13, 2020 - where Mrs Johnson and friends celebrated his sacking - could be heard from offices below. Scotland Yard last night revealed it has received 300 photos as part of its probe into 12 events in Downing Street in 2020 and 20201. In response to questions about the report tonight, Mr Cummings wrote: 'Yes there are photos of the PM at parties under investigation. I've spoken to people who say they've seen photos of parties in the flat. 'I've talked to people who were in No10 on 13/11 who could hear the party in No10 after I'd left - the press office is below the flat. If cops talk to people there that night, there'll be witnesses who say ''we could all hear a party with Abba playing''.'

PM now linked to SIX parties: Boris Johnson 'toasted Dominic Cummings's exit in Downing Street flat and was at prosecco-fuelled leaving do for senior aide as nation was in strict lockdown' - but REFUSES to say he will quit if Met fine him over PartyGate

A witness is said to have told Sue Gray (inset) that the Prime Minister was seen heading upstairs towards the 'victory party' held by friends of Carrie Johnson (left) on the night of November 13, 2020, after Mr Cummings had left No 10 with his belongings in a box (right). Mr Johnson had previously denied a party to celebrate Mr Cummings' exit ever took place. But last night, while in Ukraine (main picture), he refused to comment on if he was in the flat drinking with Carrie and her pals that night. And to add to his woes, it has emerged he also attended a leaving party in No 10 when the Prosecco flowed while country was in the midst of the strict post-Christmas lockdown . The Prime Minister is said to have given a short speech at the boozy bash on January 14, 2021 - now the sixth apparently illegal gathering being probed by the police that the Prime Minister is linked to. Another leaving party was held on December 17, 2020, described in Sue Gray's partygate report as a 'gathering in No 10 Downing Street on the departure of a No 10 official'. The Telegraph reported the official was Captain Steve Higham, then a private secretary to the PM advising on defence and national security. Johnson attended the party and gave a speech, it is understood, but he left after a few minutes.

That headline "catastrophe in cost of living to hit red wall" is important.

Tory MPs come in all shapes and sizes (like all other parties). But a major priority for all of them is getting re-elected.

There is a massive difference between older, more established Tories, and the 2019 intake.

If you have a seat in the affluent parts of the Home Counties, cost of living rises are important. But not the end of the road-of being an MP, that is.

Whereas, if you are a "red wall" Tory MP, who got elected on a "levelling up" manifesto, you are facing the prospect of having no job at the next election. Which is why that section of MPs want a new PM.

Boris Johnson backs down over Jimmy Savile comments

Boris Johnson has backed down over comments he made berating Sir Keir Starmer for not prosecuting notorious paedophile Jimmy Savile.

During a bruising Commons session on Monday, Johnson accused Starmer of failing to prosecute Savile while the Labour leader was head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), when in fact he had not been the reviewing lawyer for the case.

On Tuesday a spokesperson for the PM later said he stood by what he said.

But on Thursday Johnson said he understood why people got "hot under the collar" about the claim.

He added: "I'm talking not about the leader of the opposition's personal record when he was when he was DPP and I totally understand that he had nothing to do personally with those decisions."

Johnson made the false claim, which it is believed is also shared online by far-right conspiracy theorists, following the release of part of senior civil servant Sue Gray’s report into Partygate allegations at Downing Street.

Now Boris Johnson's closest ally and aide for 14-years QUITS over 'Jimmy Savile' attack on Keir Starmer: Policy chief Munira Mirza blasts 'inappropriate and partisan' slur saying she asked PM to apologise publicly but he REFUSED

The Prime Minister targeted Sir Keir over his time as Director of Public Prosecutions on Monday as he addressed MPs over Sue Gray's Partygate report. He alleged the Labour leader had 'used his time prosecuting journalists and failing to prosecute Jimmy Savile ' and has since refused to withdraw the remark, which first emerged on hard Right websites. Mr Johnson's decision to double down at Prime Ministers Questions yesterday has reported alarmed many of his MPs. Some have now likened him to the fake news-spouting former US president, the Times reported.

    Warning:Cynical posting incoming :)

So-Boris announces that "leadership" necessitates blaming and removing some of his troops. Pathetic thing to say-but that is not the point.

As if by magic, 5 senior aides have "chosen" to resign.

Who is going to be the first politician to inquire what payoffs they received?

Bombshell biography of Boris Johnson's wife by Tory peer Lord Ashcroft says 'mesmerised and lonely' PM is surrounded by HER friends and she 'used his mobile to direct events' - but Team Carrie slams claims as 'tissue of lies'

Boris Johnson's survival battle is set to be dealt another blow by the publication of a biography portraying him as little more than the puppet of his wife Carrie. The explosive book by Lord Ashcroft presents him as a weak Prime Minister who enrages his advisers by allowing his wife to influence policies and appointments. The Tory peer claims Mr Johnson, 57, is 'completely mesmerised' by his 33-year-old wife and cuts a 'lonely' figure surrounded by her close friends who are now among his most influential aides. The biography of Mrs Johnson advances the theory that faultlines in her relationship with the Prime Minister have had an impact on No 10, with one source describing it as 'a Greek tragedy'.
