Added the multiple exclamation marks to encourage you to post more, seems to have worked. Also if could please keep your reports up to date (at least daily, preferably hourly) then it would avoid stupid people (me) getting confused.

The report for Monday night was done on Tuesday.

The report for Tuesday night was done on Wednesday.

Post more? I'd post all day if I thought folks might find it interesting.

I refer to my previous post (bold part), you did post it late yesterday though, yes? I tend to check in the mornings as you usually post then hence my misunderstanding. Many apologies.

You are correct, yes. I usually do the Update late morning, early afternoon latest.

On Tuesday though I had some stuff to sort offline, & I never did the update until late afternoon, sort of tea-time.

No need to apologise bud, I'm just joshing.

    See you tonight.

    Look, here's how exclamation marks should be used;

"Exclamation points were originally called the “note of admiration.” They are still, to this day, used to express excitement. They are also used to express surprise, astonishment, or any other such strong emotion. Any exclamatory sentence can be properly followed by an exclamation mark, to add additional emphasis"

"My name is John" hardly qualifies for admiration, excitement, surprise, astonishment or strong emotion.

Are we all clear on that?

    REPORT ON WEDNESDAY's PLAY

Not much traffic last night, maybe as there was a bunch of good football.

Only played 13 games, as I was not mad keen on 1 or 2 tabling after 9pm. I'll stay until midnight if I can have 3 or 4 games on the go, but not for singlets & doublets, so to speak. I just have concentration issues if I don't have 3 or 4 games running, minimum.

No games ran at £10 or £15, or not whilst I was on, which was 7pm - 9.15pm.

Tuney & Whizzy were both AW(OL - & Nick was not on site very long. These guys help populate the £10 & £15 games, so I guess that partly explains it.

steeil has been AWOL for almost a week now, too.

That said, whilst I only played 13 games at £3 & £5, the results were not too bad.

    £3, P7, W4, L3

    £5, P6, W5, L1

    Profit on session = £17.90.

Guess I'd take that every night if I could. Just gotta avoid those one-a-week shockers I seem to have.

    As you know
Over a 13 game sample we can’t avoid those nights
    It’s all about volume
I’m okayish at dyms and so far i’ve had a decent month. But still, during this month i’ve had a 200 game breakeven spell.
  • Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 172,149
    Yup.

If the traffic was there, I'd play 30 or 40 games per day, that's 200+ games per week, & that helps to iron out the swings & swongs.

I'd lose my money faster, too.....

The first two games I played, I was , shall we say, not very good, and decided that I did not want to waste any more money. I have had a couple of bad sessions recently. Strange how some nights we just do not "have it" for whatever reason.
    Will be back tonight

Well done Nick. If I had the sense to log off early doors on nights like that, I'd not have those shockers.

    GL tonight mate.

Great to see that you are back playing quite regularly Tikay.

I do miss our battles and am itching for a little PLO8 DYM session. It is just so hard to get time to visit the tables just now.

    Hi Mark,
Tonight I tried out a few , typical Markycash type hands.
Ask Tony how it panned out.
Hint, I think I heard his jaw hit the keyboard from over a hundred miles away!

It certainly took me by surprise. Not sure, in PLO8, I've ever been 4 bet before by 3-4-4-5.

Another chap 4 bet me 5 minutes earlier with 2-3-3-6.

    I lost both hands, obv.

    ;)

PS - Glad you had a good night mate.

    SHOCKERER

If Monday was a shocker, last night was a shockerer.

It included losing 9 games on the bounce. NINE.

    Ugh.

I ran bad, then played bad, then badded bad.

    Sheesh.

I'm now £67 down on the week, with 3 sessions left. All I can hope for is to reduce that deficit.

Hope some bigger games run tonight. Then again, be careful what you wish for.....

    What a beast variance is.

Not just brutally unfair - or so it seems - but the niggling doubt that festers in our heads that says maybe it's not variance, maybe it's poor play. That's accentuated in my case by the fear that age is taking it's toll on my mental faculties.

All of which is the preamble to another bad set of numbers last night, my third loss of £20 or more in 5 nights. Had I not managed to just about fall over the line in the only £15 game that ran, the loss would have been over £50 on the night. Ugh.

It's hope that keeps us going though. After 10 or 12 games where I either lost with big hands - aces usually - against lesser hands, or when I had lesser hands I kept bumping into Aces, & losing every time. Can't remember winning an all-in during the first 10 games. Then, just as the games were dying, it was like a light being switched on, suddenly I was being dealt good material & was winning, or was outdrawing folks.

The wonderful & beguiling mysteries of poker.

    Anyway, onto the numbers.

    Results for Friday 15th December

    £3, P6, W4, L2

    £5, P11, W4, L7

    £10, P2, W0, L2

    £15, P1, W1, L0

    Loss on night = £24.80.

See you guys later. My turn tonight, right?
