Still following your progress on this. It does make an interesting read the way you have set it all out. I stopped reading some diaries with pages of HH's but have a quick look at them all still.

So you are 180 (pence) down?.....that is a good score in darts you know?

Will you be including your Reward Points into your final loss/profit figures at the end of the month?

So, it was a good weekend & Monday.

I had been puzzled by my poor performance, so I gave myself a good talking to, & changed a couple of things -

CONCENTRATE. I had to focus more, stop watching TV, surfing poker forums, & stroking the dog. In fact I have now realised I don;t even have a dog.

STRATEGY - I had been lulled into some bad discipline & habits in these DYM's, & had to change my ranges a bit.

It worked perfectly, & over Saturday, Sunday & Monday.....

    Played 43

    Won 29

    Lost 14

Profit over those three days was £42, which is about £1 per game, on a £6 per game average stake.  This is most satisfactory, but........was it just luck/variance, or have the changes really worked?

Time will tell, I plan to continue playing these until Thursday.

After that, I might switch to PLO DYM's, though, much to my surprise, there is less traffic than the PLO8's, or it seems so.

We will have to change that, then. And I bet we can.

    Ha!

Honestly, I can't read hand Histories, they make my head hurt, & my eyes bleed, but each to their own. Me, I'm a stats geek, so the numbers fascinate me.

    I made a profit on the 8 days of PLO8 DYM's of about £11.

Overall, including when I was playing NLH cash two months ago (where I lost £60), I am £1.80 down, yes, because, for the purpose of the experiment, I started with exactly £200. My Balance this morning is £198.20.

I have NOT included Reward Points in those profit & loss numbers, though I suppose I could or should.

I got £10.20 in September, & so far in October, I have accrued 2,688 points, which will be worth £26.88, so thus far I have earned £37 in Reward Points money.

I suppose that could be viewed as a £37 profit on my original £200 stake, (arounf 18% ROI), & I still have the stake, minus 2 quid.

It really is amazing what a difference those Reward Points make.

Have to say, I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Nice stats, Tikay.

What sorts of mistakes are you seeing most commonly at the PLO8 DYMs? Might help some folks with their strategy. Unless they're Orford, in which case not a chance.

Tuesday was run-bad Tuesday, yesterday was wun-good Wednesday.

Lost all three x £11 on Tuesday. This is a bad thing, & it cost me dearly.

Yesterday, ran very good indeed, could do little wrong, & won all three x £11ers, & 5 out of 8 £5.50ers, for a £33 net profit on the session.

Even managed to bust FIRST hand of a £5.50, a record for me. Had the aces, double suited, good aces too, against K-K-Q-10, AIPF (!!), & I had him covered on both suits, but his danglers two-paired. Boo.

Also had a monster chip lead in another, then TWO players moved in, & I found medium Aces. This, tactically, was really a fold, but, you know, greed got the better of me, & the other two chopped it between them, both with Low style hands that hit straights. Bad play by me.

I did manage, remarkably, to win one when I had 60 (SIXTY) chips left, at 400-800. We were 4 handed, 2 of us woefully short, then, incredibly, the two big stacks went to war, & KABOOM one busted the other! Happy days.

Anyway, we are nicely in profit now, & have found our stride, now to see if that is just luck, & variance, or see if I can press on from here. Allowing for Reward Points in October, my £200 is now around £250. Vegas here I come.....almost.

My last session tonight before a 3 days break (sPT), & next week will be difficult, as it is UKOPS week, & I also have 2 Shows to do.

Never had so much fun. Poker's the greatest, it really is, so relaxing.

Hope to see a few of you tonight.

Undecided on whether to give regular PLO DYM's a spin in November - might do, be interesting, & I'd get a lot more games in per session, as they presumably end quicker.

been a good read tikay and interesting seeing your stats thought they would be better. not in a cheeky way just that when your on the tables your quite a tight player compared too quite a few from the dyms me included :@) .    it has been good in showing the swings that happen in the game too all.and shows me maybe i,am not doing as bad as i thought. i just maybe need too be a bit tighter and play less hands than i currently do. i may give this a try in november and maybe if you have time you could mabye give me some advice and pointers on how i could improve my game and stop throwing away my chips .... hope you have a good weekend

    Ha, Churchy!

You are a right pain in my side on those DYM's. ;)

I would happily give a few pointers, to you or anyone else, but I'm not setting myself up as an expert or anything, I'm famously known as a LolPro, after all.....

I DEFINITELY will sort a few tips for you later (bit busy right now), and I can GUARANTEE your results will improve.

    How about that?

You have a nice weekend up there in Glasgow, too. I'm at the SPT all weekend. What a life, eh? But sadly, no PLO8 DYM's until Monday, after tonight's session. See you later m8.

Tikay - you could perhaps organise a PLO sit 'n' go in Nottingham for the masses. It would be my first live Omaha game. You know you want to... ;)

There MAY be some PLO &/or PLO8 Sit & Go's this weekend Slippy.

I am also trying to arrange one of THE most successful Online & Live Omaha players in the UK  to give an Omaha Teach-In for newbies.

I'm on the case, leave it with me.

One way & another, its going to be a very exciting weekend. Trust me.

Remember, ANYONE can come along, even if you are unable to play the Main Event.

Can I come then, it says anyone.

This "can an old dog learn new tricks" post of yours has been a great read, but there's a simple question that gives you the simply answer to this.

Can a man of your age stop  accidentally wetting  himself?
