I was in this game as you can see I think you can probably hang on, in this case you happened to be flipping which is alot better than it could have been. I know you're really short but everyone was in the same boat, and sometimes you just gotta get a blind steal in once per orbit to keep your head above water while they knock each other out and in this situation you had zero fold equity. So at best you're flipping. Not that it's a comfort to you but I managed to cash by the way lol, made a losing session slightly better than it was. Posted by Lambert180
LOL _ I actually tried to un-reg from it as it filled up as I could see there were more winning playeres than losing ones but just missed it
The thing that made up my mind was that the guy wasnt playing optimum DYM tactics by limp folding when blinds were high and he,d min raised a cpl of times before on the button
Won 1 and lost 2 since last post this was level 8 and still 6 of us left , which seems to happening more , but can give me your opinion on this one JC . teh guy who raised had limped a cpl of times and min raised a cpl of times Should i have waited for a better spot? I'm certainly not as good as JC, but IMO you're at best flipping (Lambert said) and the BB is very shortstacked and definitely calling which just makes your odds worse. I would fold and shove next unopened pot.
Keep playing MTTs recently and not seperating my BR then not knowing how much to withdraw so I have officially started again... again, with £200 earlier, now £216
Will still be playing MTTs and Satellites but am gonna make notes of my buyins so I actually know how i'm doing in DYMs

Although they are my favourite games I hardly play them now which could explain my recent motivation problems, but will also be trying some sats with a different BR and some micro cash to hopefully cover them
My reason for posting today thoughis to ask ---- Do you think the low stakes ( up to £5 ) have got much harder over last 6 months?
i think the standard in general is going up all the time - even at NL4 now you have plenty of regs trying to make money
No real reads although he,s a reg + winning player
How would you play this . I was unsure from the start , but i figured if he had,t hit a Jack he might put in a small bet to get me off it, hence my all in

Hi MP33,
I think you can just about wait for a better spot here, yeah. It is very close though I think and it's just because the guy shouldn't ever really be folding that I would prefer to wait. If you had a bit more fold equity then it would become an OK shove. Similarly I would probably make this play, given your reads, if I held an Ace or most pairs.

Hi again,
I think you played this pretty much perfectly, the only thing I do differently is raise 3x pre-flop but it's really a matter of personal preference. It's made a touch easier by the villain having a small stack but I'm still raising even if he has more chips. As you're aware the villain is a good reg so can probably mix up his play but I would definately be making a note on this play.

I have only been playing since march so can't really answer this as I have been improving, although in the last month I have seen a LOT more games reaching levels 6 + 7 with nobody knocked out so probably a yes.
Fantastic little session where I ran like an absolute train. Is it wrong that I still get excited about hands like this in £3.30 DYMs?:

I don't think so. Anyway:
Played 20 £3.30s W 17 L 3 Bankroll - £105.32
Had a run of 14 straight wins at the beginning which, coupled with any wins at the end of the last session, should have been my best run ever I think. After an initial miscalculation I've just realised that I only need £110 to move up to the £5.50s, so I'm nearly there! I thought this was going to be one of the longest steps (time/no. of games-wise) but it looks like it could be the shortest. Hope I haven't just jinxed it, pretty excited with where I am at the minute. Hope to get a good grind in on Saturday where hopefully I'll be able to make the jump to the next level...

Yeah very nice run JC. My night was about the opposite to yours lol. Couldn't win a race when I started miles ahead eg. KK v 22, flops a 2 lol, and if that didn't happen, I shoved and walked into a monster but oh well, managed to stop the losses a bit near the end. I'll be updating my thread now.
But anyway, don't wanna rain on our parade. Very nice work, impressive how big your BR is already, won't be happy if you catch up with me after how much of a head start I had! lol.

This is probably one of the reasons i,m going wrong.
Since last session won 1 and lost last 3 on trot. I had a brk for a cpl of weeks and since ive come back , just cant seem to get anything going and i dont feel my play has been that gr8 either

Play a few £1.15s until you fell like you're playing properly, they're great for confidence boosting!
I havn't been able to concentrate on DYMs properly atm, after winning £16 on wednesday I lost about £14 yesterday through a couple outdraws, but somehorrible decisions by me at times.
I took a break from DYMs and opened a couple cash tables +£44 so gonna take a shot at the £11s tonight, hopefully the increase in stake will help keep me motivated.
EDIT: First game of the day £11, 2nd hand get it all in KK vs AK he binks, play a £5.50 we both have a pair of 10s, I have him outkicked, he hit's 2nd pair on the river. Demoralised... played cash up £45
Maybe I should just stick to cash for a while lol, but anyway, I now have £274 so have a bit more of a cushion if I do start playing the £11s properly.
Decent night where the result is better than I thought it would be, tbh, I was pretty tired throughout and had to end early. I moved up to £5.50s mid-session. The standard is noticably better than the £3.30s and I already encountered a couple of proper regs, nothing too worrying though. Play is also generally tighter. I played a total of 31 £3.30s (provided I don't fall back) to move through that level, which I'm extremely pleased with, notwithstanding the fact that I ran extremely well pretty much throughout.
Played 11 £3.30s W 6 L 5 Played 20 £5.50s W 13 L 7 Bankroll - £125.02 Poker points - 1182 League position - 26th

Just wondered what you thought of this hand in level 1. Did i scare him off to early with the min raise and i,m guessing you wouldnt advocate getting it all in pre against an unknown as your probably flipping and thats not what u want in DYM,s or is there a case for it
