Villa were rampant and finally look confident and free-flowing. Marvellous Nakamba is the new Kante and is starting to look an absolute steal. His performances are now starting to mean that Grealish, McGinn and co can all play that bit higher up the field and the much maligned Wesley can do what he does and start putting the ball in the onion bag. It's Brighton at home next, after another horrible international's break. A win against The Seagulls would certainly make staying up look a lot more likely proposition. Poker in October has started remarkably well and my Bankroll has swelled from £20.27 on the 30th September to £1078.36 as I write this. The highlights have been 3rd in Gold Rush on Tuesday (qualified via sat), winning the 7 at 7 last night and 8th in The Sunday Major (qualified via all-in sat). I'm currently having one of those runs when we seem to hit the board and our 60/40's hold. Having said that it was sickening to go out of The Sunday Major so close to the FT when I got it in great with AA against loololollo's 55. I cannot grumble to how October has started and long may it continue. Be on the tables tonight hoping to take advantage of this current run. Will probably be only playing tonight and tomorrow as I am on lates at work Wednesday and Thursday and then finish for the weekend at 3pm on Friday. Driving to Devon Friday evening for a couple of days with my Dad, who hasn't been the best lately, in Exmouth. Will then return to the tables Sunday evening for a possible crack at The Sunday Major again.
Been a few days away from the tables and I have had a re-think of the strategy going forward. I have been spending far too much time on the virtual felt lately and have also been running particularly well on those tables. As a result my Bankroll has reached a very healthy state. This has given me the opportunity to comfortably play at a level I enjoy on the cash tables, which also gives me more time away from the laptop and is far more convenient in terms of my home / work / poker balance. So I have withdrawn just over £600 to leave my current balance at £550. The plan going forward is to 4-table nl20 until my roll either increases to £900, at which point I will step up to nl30, or drops to £400, at which point I will drop to nl10. I also intend to try to limit myself to 2 hour sessions a day and also get back into playing live tournies, starting next Tuesday at my local Grosvenor. I will also be trying to qualify to SPT Manchester through the satellite schedule. The £600 I have withdrawn has been split between an initial £200 investment in to 'Football Index', a football player trading stockmarket and the rest has been turned into Polish Zloty for the forthcoming trip to Krakow. Good start to trading with my portfolio now showing a value of £203.04.
Had a bet for the weekend and gone for a few outsiders at what I believe are very good prices. Trebles and up on the following - West Ham @ 11/4 away to Everton. Huddersfield @ 16/5 away to Blackburn. Birmingham @ 7/1 away to Leeds. Burnley @ 11/2 away at Leicester. Crystal Palace @10/1 home to Man City. If these all come in I will certainly be playing at nl50 from Sunday.

Day 1 of SPT Grand Final sats and having finished 7th out of 14 in the sat, I decided to enter the 3 x £1.10 all in sats. Managed to win the first one and so got into the 9.45pm Quarter Final for under £6. Made it through this and so I am now in Thursday's SPT Semi where I will be hoping to win a seat in Manchester. Played a really interesting hand late on when we were down to the last 6, with 5 qualifying. Was close to folding. What would you have done?

Have played 3, 2 hour sessions of nl20 since the last update and have really enjoyed them. Lost £59 in the first session and didn't play well, calling too many big bets when obviously behind and playing far too loose. Second session I played much tighter and upped my 3 betting frequency when in position and this lead to a healthy profit of £61. Third session tonight I thought I played well and suffered a tiny £2 loss. On the plus side I managed to bink £20 in the Golden Ticket Promo, thank you very much Sky. Villa recorded another win on the weekend and Grealish is really showing how good a footballer he is. He must be one of the best ball carriers in the game and surely can't be far off that England call up. Tomorrow night I am off to the local casino for a £27 buy in, £650 Gtd tourney. Not played live for a bit so looking forward to it. I am then off on Wednesday and Thursday, out for a few beers Wednesday, working lates on Friday and Saturday, before flying out to Krakow for 5 nights on Sunday.
Bankroll £567.73 (plus a SPT Grand Final Semi ticket)
The Aces hand? I get the concern, but given your stack (8 Bigs?) & the other stacks, I'm always calling there. jubb is also likely to be bullying very wide here. As it happened, he had a hand, but he was not forced to.
What casino you playing that Live tourney in tonight?

Agree. If you had a big stack and a couple of short stacks below you then you can consider folding. Here though you have to call.
Best of luck in the semi and enjoy your trip away.

I'm off to Huddersfield Grosvenor. Although it is usually only a relatively small field, around 25 to 30, it is a friendly bunch and certainly not the intensity of Leeds. Pretty 'soft' field to and a couple of £100 up top. Go more for the banter than the monetary rewards.

Had a great time and played as well as I probably ever have.
Bit of a sick way to go out, but can't really complain as got in for a £3 all-in sat.

Thanks, c'est la poker!
So a quick resume of the past week.

Another decent evening on the tables, including 2 final tables.
£6k Marksman LR Semi = 9th of 55 = £33 ticket.
£6k Marksman = 67th of 176 = £0.
£1.5k Mini Marksman = 85th of 371 = £1.88.
7 at 7 = 54th of 136 = £0.
£500 BH = 5th of 58 = £56.02.
£750 BH = 5th of 87 = £52.81.
See you all tomorrow
Bankroll £1,144.27.
I missed all this fun as I was up at the SPT, but this is wonderful news.
In mid-September, let's remember, you had to deposit £150. Now you have ten-folded that £150.
Many congrats, keep it going. Maybe invest in a few satellites for SPT Manchester?
PS - Don't forget UKOPS seats are on offer in the Rewards Freerolls.
Will definitely be trying to qualify for Manchester!
Back from Devon, where I lost a few quid single tabling PLO on the phone, and we're at it again.

The 10/1 Palace to beat Man City is insane. Palace are just 2 points behind Man City, & are at home.
Think Palace win this game at least 3 times in 10, so great value.
Man U ~ 4/1 at home to beat Liverpool is an interesting price, too.
Anyway, good luck with those bets, as well as those SPT Grand Final satellites.

Well done on winning that SPT Semi-Final seat.
