Hah, have you seen the responses now lol
Your schedule sounds fabulous, have a lovely time and don't feel to bad about your tournament clashing with Gill's arrival, just give her access to your credit card and tell her to go shopping, she will be one happy girl.

Wrongfully convicted of murder, he spent 27 years in prison, before his conviction was overturned. He sued the LA Sheriffs Department, & was awarded damages of..... $15 million.
$15 million, wow.
I mean, he had half his life stolen from him, so deserves a break. $15 mill is half handy though.
If you were offered $15 million for 27 years inside, (roughly half a mill per year) would you be tempted?
He looked pretty happy with life, has to be said, & why not?
Trying to find a 'decent' time to squeeze it in and its hard. You wouldn't wanna do it from 18 as you'd be giving up the best years of your life. Go in too late, say 40/45+, and that doesn't give you too much time post jail to enjoy your new riches.
I'm 31 so perhaps now would be a suitable time? I'd be 58 upon release and could live a life of luxury for potentially decades, whilst also still having enjoyed my late teens and 20s. I also don't have kids (that I'm aware of) so thankfully no-one currently relies on me and I can disappear for 27 years without shirking responsibilities.
I mean, it's the most disgusting, filthy cardroom & casino in the world, bar none, the place is falling down, half of it is closed as it is a health hazard (literally), your feet stick to the carpet as it's so dirty, the Dealers are beyond awful, the whole place is a car wreck. (It is no longer owned by the Binion family, it was sold to Harrahs in 2004, which was how the WSOP came to be at The Rio).
And yet, it has so much history, & is a thoroughly lovely place to play poker. I absolutely love it.
It was started by a bloke named Benny Binion. Don't know where to start with Benny. Convicted of TWO murders, & probably committed 6 or 7 more. Racketeer, Mob Boss, did prison for tax evasion, he has the full criminal & gangster CV. His family were all the same as him, too, with murder, suicide, theft, drug deaths, all sorts.
Start here, with Benny's Wiki page, & you get the flavour;
If you enjoy reading that sort of stuff, there are a ton of books about Benny, go buy one, you won't regret it.
Benny allegedly tried to kill a guy named Frank Noble 7 times, on one occasion a car bomb detonated under Frank's car, but it just happened that his wife was using Frank's car that day. She was killed. Frank eventually ran out of lives & was murdered when his mailbox exploded when he went to collect his mail.

he looks a mean old coot as for the $15 mil or a long stretch , no amount of money is worth your freedom
Binions - & Golden Nugget - are both in Fremont Street, Downtown, which is the original "old" Vegas. It's about a 15 minute drive along I-15 from the Las Vegas Strip, & is different in every way, sort of like Blackpool but 100 times more tacky.
The weather is always hot, young girls stroll about with barely any clothes on, & the atmo is just incred.

It's all your fault.
Morning all.
Was pretty cool by Vegas standards Friday, but a lot warmer yesterday, 37C. Very hot again today, though it's only 0945 here.
Went across to Binions, Downtown, yesterday, to play the little PLO8 thing.
It was $300 + $65, so almost 22% rake. Pretty standard for Downtown, to be honest.
Here's the thing though - it was unlimited re-entries, & each re-entry was the same $365.
So if you had your original entry, plus 2 bullets, in effect, you'd be paying $195 rake on a $300 MTT, equal to over 60%.
Imagine if Online Poker tried that, 2 + 2 would catch fire.
Maybe I should suggest it to @Sky_SamT . You never now, he might like the idea.
No need to thank me.
Was playing in Binions yesterday, & a fella wandered past the table who made me gasp. I mean, he was THE tallest bloke I have ever seen in my life.
A few heads turned, & several players commented upon Mr Tall, & it turned out he was well-known for his tallness.
His name is George Bell, & he suffers from something called gigantism. And no, I'm not making this up.
Here's his wiki page;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Bell_(basketball)
If you cba to read that, the cliffs are he is 7 foot 8 inches tall. That's exactly twice the height of Batesy & bigger even than @Giant811 .
He used to be the tallest bloke in the USA, but he's been relegated to 2nd tallest now, as he is over 60, & old people shrink.
Here's George.
This fella - below - was plying the tournament;

Also depends on how tough a stretch it would be.
If it was 20 years it would be an easier decision

You see all sorts in Fremont Street.
Half-naked dancing girls on bar counters? Check.
Weird statuesque figures on bicycles? Check.
