    Weekly update

I have managed to lose 1 whole pound. What an effort.

It isn't all bad as allegedly my body fat % has reduced by 1.1% as well, but for all I know the scales are just guessing at that.

    image

If I am honest I didn't really do much to encourage weight loss. I ate the usual stuff including the remaining tubs of quality street and aside from getting a call to fill in for my friends 6 a side team on Monday night I didn't manage any exercise.

By the way not playing football for 6 months has taken me from a distinctly average footballer to an utterly hopeless one. I felt like I didn't know what I was doing a lot of the time.

Not drunk any alcohol since NYE so it isn't all bad, though I may be tempted to have a beer or two tonight whilst watching the football. I have spin class at midday today so hopefully earn a couple and not do too much damage.

Must try harder this week. Hopefully shed a little more than 1lb.

    @Sky_SamT

    What is a "spin class"?

Well done on losing an entire lb.

Oh do be serious Prof - even @Sky_SamT lost a lb. A whole lb. That's about 2ozs per day.

    Starting weight - 14st 5.5lbs

    After 1 week - 13st 12lbs

    = 7.5lbs loss.

    Had a good start.

Gill was here from the Friday to the Tuesday, & we both like to eat bad food, but I kept it real.

On the exercise front I managed 17 of the scheduled 21 (3 per day) walks, which helped enormously. Not so much when I came a proper tumble after stubbing my toe on a tree root & falling flat on my face. Felt a proper Charlie. Bruises, grazes & damaged ego apart, no real damage.

The first 7lbs is easy of course, it gets tougher now, & if I shed 2lbs this week I think I'd settle for that.

13st 7bs by SPT Manchester remains the near-term target.

Good work, solid start, hope you keep it going.

The cutting down on smokes club

    Current (approx) regime/habit

    Morning - 5 or 6
    Afternoon - 5 or 6
    Evening - 10 or 13

    = 20/25 per day
    = 140/175 per week

    Intial targets

To decrease amounts in every part of the day.
To get weekly total under 100 ASAP.
To use a vapour more in the evenings.

    Long term/end targets

To get back to zero in at least the mornings (done before, but over 3 years ago).
To get weekly total to under 50.

Notes - Any reasonable advice/help/guidance will be gratefully received.
I will total up each week daily usage.

Cough cough cough.....cough. The smoker has entered the room (only just squeezed past a few of you B) )

    1st week update.

    Fri 4/7/14 = 25
    Sat 0/7/11 = 18
    Sun 0/5/15 = 20
    Mon 3/5/12 = 20
    Tue 3/5/11 = 19
    Wed 3/4/10 = 17
    Thu 5/7/15 = 27

Total (maybe a couple more, but not less) = 146

Not a great start, but seeing it recorded will hopefully encourage me more in the coming weeks. Purchased some nicorette gum this morning, which will reduce the weekly total. Will also get some spray at w/end, which I am told is very good.

Not easy to update when the week does not go as well as you'd hoped, though @Sky_SamT managed it I suppose, so well done for being honest & open about it.

From bitter experience, trying to cut down on ciggies is harder than giving up totally.

Honestly, try this book Alan - I'll be extremely surprised if it does not help you enormously. Really.

Tried posting a pic, but it wouldn't load.

    Week 2, weight - 14 2

Last week I was sure it was the new washing machine that had been shrinking my t shirts!

Alan, defo worth checking out Alan Carrs book, it's all very subliminal where you won't want to have another smoke!

Well done on all on the losses this week.

An 8lb loss? Wow, well done.

    That's 8 times more than @Sky_SamT.
