    Ugh.

So annoyed with myself. Won a seat into the Major, which I hardly ever play, and was really looking forward to it. End up overplaying AKo 90bb or so deep and it's gg.

Hand below and would appreciate any thoughts. Given we are so deep I think I prefer flatting the 3b and taking a flop. Can/should I 4b fold?

Was expecting to see AA, definitely out of my depth at this level so went for it.

A lot of the power of AK is dominating other hands. Need to think about the range of hands Doyle is playing like this at this stage of the tournament. You could 4b fold but would be making smaller raise if so but I think can just peel but its an opponent specific thing as this effects ranges played like this. It has gone utg open, +1 flat then Doyle has raised. I doubt given this action Doyle is getting overly out of line.

You played the hand fine @DoyleBrun. I went ott. I regretted 4betting, especially to that size and was guilty of not taking a few extra seconds to really think about the hand.

I knew I was in trouble when you came back over the top and my best case scenario was running into QQ or AK. I think as I was 90ish bb deep in a freezeout then I should have just flatted and taken a flop.

.....I was expecting him to turn up with 10 2 ;)

I did a whole thread on AK back in the day. Still 'one of those' starting hands that are a PITA sometimes to play. On a par with JJ. I think a flat of the first raise (1080) and then see what the flop brings/further action there is.

If you had put #runlikewaller in the chat box, the flop would have been AAK.

Interesting spot from last night's Sheriff.

Are we going with it or folding? Massive pot and freerolling the rest of tournament if I win the hand. Thoughts?

If my maths is correct I need roughly 33% equity to make the call? But, I could be in far worse shape than that. Although I still have a playable stack if I lose and there is a double bounty and massive stack up for grabs.

Anyone calling here? Should I be taking spots like these in the long run?

    Against @miniman88 I'm fist-pump calling. Proper at-it merchant imo.

After a raise and a lool 3b jam I didn't think he would be shoving very wide himself. By that point I had great pot odds but could have been in a world of hurt. But then I had a proper look at the hand after the session and I think I should have gambled, especially factoring in the bounties and having a playable stack if I lost. I obv folded but think I missed a trick perhaps.

    Really don't know .

While we are on the subject, I'm looking for some poker buds who are interested in discussing hands on skype. Nothing too serious, just posting hands and messaging our thoughts etc.

PM me if anyone is interested

I’m taking that spot. Covering both for bounties and have a decent stack behind. Great opportunity to bust 2 of the best players in the field. Might feel spewy when you lose both but you’re getting the equity plus the possibility of future bounties when you clean up and get that big stack.

Also the side pot will give you back 1k and a bounty which is not insignificant here

Turns out I was in decent shape against AJo and 55 and I would have won the hand. I didn't want to be be results orientated though so took a good look at it afterwards.

I agree, I think folding was a mistake, there will be times when you're crushed but it seems a good spot to take a couple of bounties and chip up. I almost called in game but was expecting miniman to be a lot stronger given the action.

I would have folded pre too, which pretty much guarantees I would win the pot if I had stayed in, much like you would have.

I just need to find a way of winning a pot when I do stay in!

@Summers119 I'm not sure how much value I could add to a hand discussion but I enjoy discussing them.

It's good to know that @miniman88 made the call with AJ here. I had the EXACT same hand in the midnight and potentially thought my call was spewy, but only as I lost that hand. I think the call is right here and i'll take my chances at a flip.

The downside of having a desktop in the bedroom within view of your en suite toilet.........being mid wee, seeing you have AKo in bb with 25bb facing an open, sprinting back in gripping hard, 3b jamming, getting looked up by JJ and losing. Sprinting back to toilet to finish off in a foul mood.

Bring back my laptop, all is forgiven.

Not sure I can erase from my mind the vision of you with a laptop in one hand, whilst aiming your hose with the other....

    Stick to the Desktop please.
