So sick. One assumes crushers like Destinycod, Bates, Lol etc. suffer these daily and merely shrug them off? I just crawl back to £2 DYMs where the pain is far less acute.
Wow. The Mini (on Wednesday) turned out to be as big a rollercoaster as the previous night's election. And, like the aftermath of that particular circus, I have no idea if I should be content, disappointed, proud or aggrieved.
Chapter 1
I didn't enjoy the best of rebuy periods and, after my sickening beat in the £22 rebuy, I all but gave up in the Mini. In summoning my inner teenager, I decided that I just couldn't be bothered. After all, poker is just not fair!
I even passed on the add-on and settled on a plan of shoving as soon possible with my stack of nine big blinds.
I trebled my stack fairly quickly before a relatively long run of 'blackjack hands' - and, no, I am not talking AK, AQ, AJ or AT, I mean a gambler's idea of a blackjack hand; 72, 73, 74, 82, 83, 92 - to be honest, I would've settled for a 65 variation of the double-downers but, alas, no such monster came my way.
Withered, bruised and battered, I had dwindled to a soul destroying stack of less than 2100, with the blinds at 300/600.
Then, suddenly, I sprinted up a peak, winning over 18,000 chips in 25 hands, mostly uncontested the and decupling my stack in the process.
When the next hand of note came my way, I actually playable stack, of sorts. Therefore, I min-raised with the view that I would call an all-in from the short stack to my immediate late...
Being a gent, @GREGSTER offered his condolences, to which I replied that he (obviously) did nothing wrong but that I am just fed up with it all - I think I used the phrase "tournament-in, tournament out".
While still bemoaning my luck, this happened, putting a spanner, well and truly, in works...

Ahem.
A few hands later and we are in the money. Now, when is (one of) the best times to get Aces, specifically? The hand immediately after the bubble bursts?
What is the best position to be dealt Aces? The button, probably?
Well, I ticked both of those boxes, here. What a coup, right? Akin to being dealt AA23 double-suited in PLO8, maybe?
As the played made it's way around to me, I couldn't help but wonder; will I double up? Maybe even a treble up? Oh, the possibilities.
I won the blinds. Hang out the bunting.
I was so disgusted I didn't want to accept the chips, but, apparently, that was against the rules. Rules, rules, rules - 2020 is a living nightmare.

Hi @SJspanky1, as players we, of course, WANT to be outdrawn when exiting a tournament. As the alternative (sticking it in bad) is far more worrying.
Ideally we all have to shake beats off best we can, however, for me, when you're suffering, what appears, an unusual amount of beats, then it becomes demoralising.
I finished 16th in the Mini for a prize just shy of £80 - for a spend of £31 (double buy-in initially plus add-on).
For the last 2-3 hours I was sat at a ridiculously aggressive table, with the most maniacal to my immediate left.
Naturally, this made things extremely difficult.
Although relatively card dead, I managed to pick my spot to remain relevant until we were down to three tables.
In contrast the other two tables were playing fairly cagily. Blinding away seemed a far more likely scenario than laddering.
So, with the action folding to me on the button (something of a rarity), I married my 15-blind stack to King-Ten. Our friend to my immediate left woke with Aces in the small blind, which was nice.
Another cash in the Mini, though, so I'll probably make tomorrow's version one of my games, alongside the PLO, most likely.
Hey @mushroom1 - it is fair to say I ran pretty well in that tournament normal service has now been resumed though, played like a total tool the last couple of nights.
will that awful team you support score a goal before we find a cure for this poxy virus, another highly entertaining 0-0 i have laid evens for plenty (oh god i sound like odds on eddie)
Earlier I watched Millwall keep another clean sheet, their 10th in their last 16 away league games. In their last 24 league matches (home and away) they now have a 50% clean sheet strike-rate. 22 of their last 30 league games have been under 2.5 goals, with both teams scoring in only 11 of those.
Another away clean sheet.
11 clean sheets in 17 away games. 13 in 25 in all games.
20 of 31 have NOT been BTTS. 23 of 31 have been under 2.5 goals.
Don't want to keep banging on about it, but the effort you put into these lovely Tourney Reports is greatly appreciated & most enjoyable to read.
How did your US Election bets pan out?
Do you punt on any of the Breeders Cup stuff?
As always, thanks @Tikay10. It's really good to know that some are reading and enjoying the thread.
The US election was a profitable overall. Ohio and Florida both copped and I did enough business on the Trump outright and Pennsylvania bets for those to also be profitable, despite ultimately losing - both bets were around 1/6 with firms at one point, so, being on at 15/8 (for both) there was ample opportunity to make it work. The downside was staying awake around 36 hours, resulting in a sleeping pattern even crazier than usual.
I usually play in the Breeders' Cup, however, I could not find any betting opportunities this year. Have you any fancies tonight?

He hated Millwall too. You are getting more and more like him every day.

Followed by this absolute filth in the £22 rebuy...

Shortly after and still in min-cash territory, I tangle, once again, with @GREGSTER in another standard-as-it-gets hands...
A couple of minutes later, I shove my remaining chips in with Tens (why not?), which were busted by Ace-Jack.
What a thrilling ride, an experience similar to that of a yo-yo on Tower Bridge.
Ultimately, it was pleasing to make it three cashes from the four UKOPS Mini's I have entered so far.
Tonight, I opted for the Mini (obviously) and the Mega.
Despite playing fairly tight in the Mega - or very tight in relation to usual - my 15-bigs were called off pretty lightly, here...

Not really, think it's a night to keep the powder dry & just watch great races.
Great game, PLO but not for the faint hearted. Imagine if misterpj played it, forum posts wold triple.
In the Breeders Cup Mile, Aiden O'Brien saddles the 1st, 2nd & 3rd, with the winner, Order Of Australia, returned at 40/1.
Definitely could never have found that winner.
