It's really no surprise that there is open warfare within the Conservative Party.
The Idiot Truss has just selected her mates in all the main positions, and sidelined a lot of people who can damage her. It is as though she has never heard of the old adage "Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer."
Let's start with all the other leadership candidates.
People who have been promoted-1. Braverman. Stood still-1. Wallace. People who have been shunted off into relatively minor roles:-4. Zahawi, Tugendhat, Mordaunt, Badenoch. People with no role at all:-4. Sunak, Javid, Shapps, Hunt.
Then you get the people sidelined who are also creating waves-Patel, Dorries, Davis.
This is no way to unite a Party. Can already see that Mordaunt and Badenoch are starting to fight from within.
It would be funny. If it wasn't so tragic for the rest of us.
James Cleverley is one of the few able Ministers within this Government.
I suggest you read the whole article. It is quite clever the way he defends the Government in relation to this. It's not perfect-far from it-but it is probably the best Defence there is.
He also talks a lot of sense about Braverman's "coup" comment.
