I have heard rumours that the police have been in talks with southampton football club players, this is because they are looking to recruit and admire the players constant ability to give people 3 points.

Everton and West Ham in head-to-head scramble to appoint Graham Potter.

Everton and West Ham look to be in a head-to-head race to hire Graham Potter as their new manager after updates on Sean Dyche and Julen Lopetegui.

Potter has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in 2023, however he continues to be in demand and ready to return after a lengthy absence, as revealed by Football Insider.

The English manager’s started his coaching career in Sweden before joining Swansea in the Championship, his attractive and winning football saw him join Brighton and then Chelsea.

Both Everton and West Ham fans have been critical of their teams results and the less than desirable football that is being played on the pitch.

Potter might be an upgrade for both clubs, but he is notorious for being a manager who likes to build a long-term project and with both teams hovering above the relegation zone.

Sean Dyche could soon be replaced as Everton boss.

According to a report from Sky Sports News, Everton’s new ownership, the Friedkin Group, are also reviewing Sean Dyche’s position as manager, with Alan Myers tipping Potter as a potential front runner for the Americans.

This comes in the wake of some particularly poor results for the Toffees that has seen them win only one game in 11, following a 1-0 loss at Bournemouth.

Potter would make a lot of sense as a new manager as Everton look to build a new era for the club, they are set to move in to their new stadium for the 2025/26 season and a clean slate with a young, exciting manager would be an attractive proposition for the fans.

Dyche was also appointed by the previous owners in what seemed to be a more temporary move to secure the clubs’ future in the Premier League and the new owners will likely want their own manager at the helm.

Arteta is 1 of those fair weather Managers. When things go right, it is due to him. When it goes wrong, it is something outside his control. Always. Still think you were better off with Unai Emery.

Arsenal are missing about 2 of their 1st 11. Same for pretty much every team. Although Saka is a massive loss.

Imagine Arteta had a Spurs-style injury crisis. Missing his Goalkeeper, best 3 Centre Halves, and Left Back. For Vicario, Van de Ven, Romero, Davies and Udogie. Take out Raya, Saliba, Gabriel, White and Timber.

Imagine a Back 5 of Neto, Calafiori, Kiwior, Zinchenko and Tomiyasu.

    I think Arteta's head would explode :)

I liked Emery, he wasn't given the time needed as it was the players he inherited that were the problem, the best thing Arteta done was to clear out that entire team and to bring in a totally different attitude at the club from that squad of journeymen comfort zone players. This and next season will be the telling time for Arteta, then questions will be asked if we can't push on, other clubs are already circling around some our better players, notably Real Madrid for Saliba.

I know many like to knock Arteta &/or Arsenal, but all the flak in the Media this morning seems a little ott to me. Last night's defeat was their first loss in about 15 (?) games, that previous loss being at the start of November away to Inter Milan in the CL.

How many have, say, Man City or Chelsea lost in that period? I have no idea of the answer, but I bet it's more than 1 in each case.

Arteta has turned Arsenal round completely, got rid of the prima donnas & they are now a very fine club. Champions? Maybe not, but there can only be one of those & Liverpool look head & shoulders above everyone this season.

Knocking the fella for his first defeat in 15 really does seem a bit knee-jerky.

We can agree on 1 thing.

We both want Arteta to stay at Arsenal ;)

Can always have fun with statistics. You could say Arsenal were unbeaten in 13. Or, equally, that they have lost 4 in 18.

The flak isn't for losing. It's for the rampant bollo excuses for losing.

You still have your fair share of prima donnas. Your rose-tinted spectacles must be obscuring your vision. All clubs have them.

You think that, under Emery, players you have signed from (say) Man City and Chelsea would still be there?

Well he never used the ball as an excuse, he simply mentioned it.

Full credit to Newcastle, they played well, but Arsenal could so easily have won that game. Arsenal's xG was 3.09, compared to Newcastle's 1.22, so we can hardly say it was a rout.

It was a good game last night although Newcastle parked the bus for the last 20 minutes, ah don't like these stats they are now bringing into every game now, xG is one of ma pet hates.

Julen Lopetegui sacked: West Ham dismiss head coach after eight months in charge.

West Ham are expected to confirm the appointment of Graham Potter as their new head coach after sacking Julen Lopetegui on Wednesday.

Potter is poised to replace the 58-year-old on a two-and-a-halfyear deal after West Ham held further positive talks with the former Chelsea and Brighton boss on Tuesday.

West Ham have called a press conference for 9am on Thursday morning at the London Stadium.

Potter - who could take charge of a tough FA Cup third-round trip to Aston Villa on Friday - is set to return to management 20 months since he was sacked by Chelsea just seven months and 31 matches into a five-year contract.

Lopetegui had arrived at Rush Green early on Wednesday and took training in the morning before seeing his pre-match press conference ahead of the FA Cup clash against Aston Villa cancelled, which was scheduled for 1.15pm.

The announcement of his exit, after just eight months in charge of the club, was then made at 3.15pm.

A club statement read: "The first half of the 2024/25 season has not aligned with the club's ambitions and the club has therefore taken action in line with its objectives."

More often than not, there will never be a definitive answer. That doesn't stop anyone from trying. Now though, we may finally have the answer to what the 'greatest Premier League XI' in history actually is. Infamous AI software ChatGPT has been tasked with picking the best team possible and with stars such as Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney missing out, its choices are bound to raise a few eyebrows.
