Been watching some of the higher level dyms this afternoon, JC was in alot of them.

Prob pushing my luck, but is there any chance of you posting and/or explaining your thought process in this hand JC?....0347803634......

Was pretty confused by it, you said earlier in the thread you have experimented with raising to induce a shove in the past, can only think you were trying it again here.

NP if you don't wanna comment/post ofc.

Hi mate, no probs, not pushing your luck at all.

I can post the hand if you wish but I've just looked and some of the stack sizes aren't showing which makes it tricky. Yes, it was a raise to induce but there was one stack I would have folded to given that there was one really short stack at the table (and I gather the guy on the button must have been really short too but his stack's not showing?). So yeah, it was to target one of the short-stacks but fold if the guy to my immediate left (who must have had me covered, I think he must of been well in the 4000's?) re-shipped on me. Sending everyone a message really, just the same as the AJ hand you posted on the bubble. I had QQ.

Just to pre-empt one main question I can see coming which I've just had to ask myself, why didn't I just ship the QQ with 8 BBs? Well, like I say I think there were 2 players who were really short, one who had me covered, and one who had the same as me If I folded now having raised. I would have still felt in a strong posititon to cash had the guy to my left reshipped on me, while at the same time I think the message I've sent is clear enough that he's not reshipping with less than QQ or AK (he's in the same position as me, he's happy for me to target the short-stacks he's not going to reship on me light at all I don't think).

Hope this helps, if you have any more Qs on this one, or do want it posting, just let me know and I'll give it a go for you.

I didn't realise any "really short" stacks....

I did just watch the whole game of one you just played, on the bubble there was a 5k stack, you were well comfortable and there were 2 stacks under 1k with insane blinds.

Sick run of cards, and they somehow managed to survive, and you ended up bubbling.

How tf do you mentally handle stuff like that.

I guess it's volume? If you're 1/2 even 3 tabling, that's gonna be soul destroying, but when you're crushing simultaniously on 4/5 other tables, is it not that big a deal?

I think you have to be soooooo mentally strong to play these seriously? As tilting in even 2/3 games can destroy ur profit.

    -----------

Thinking more about the hand ID I posted above...before I saw your explanation....

I thought as well as AA/KK/QQ.....you could maybe have a mid pair, like 77/88???

Peoples calling/re-shoving ranges are soooooooooooooooooo tight in some games, that maybe raise/folding can be ok to give yourself a cushion, whilst ensuring u have at least a solid FE shoving stack as the worst case scenario?

But yeh your explanation makes sense, I was confused watching it though.

    -------------

Love the bubble dynamic in these though, I don't expect to make much money from them (if any) - But trying to master a "perfect game" is v possible....and quite satisfying.

    ------------

Saw some horrific plays at the 22/33 level whilst watching this aft. Like, beyond bad!

    ------------

Anyway wp, the sick bubble I described above was the only 1 I saw you lose.

Cheerz for all the help on the thread, will be alot more coming tonight/tomorrow morning. (ta to the Hoggmeister too I spose)

No probs mate keep em coming.

Just re the QQ hand, from what you've said I think you've got it pretty much spot on. Personally I wouldn't go as far as 77/88 but then again I am on the tight side, I would definately say 10/10 though would be fine.

Re the sick bubble, lol I'm glad you saw and brought that up to be honest. You're not wrong when you say soul destroying lol, and yeah I think you do have to be mentally strong to play loads of DYMs. I had my worst run ever last month and it was very difficult mentally but, touch wood, I got through that one now. Anyway, this particular bubble was one of the worst ever so yeah, just shrug it off, know it's not going to happen very often, and take comfort in your other games you've got going on.

Re Greghogg's QQ: I think you need to lay these down. You've still got the OR and the 3-bettor to act behind you. I don't know kes that well but cold-calling big 3 bets in the early levels is so often AK in my experience (a play I don't understand in itself). Re him having AA/KK I definately think anyone would ship KK here and with the AA you're most probably right as well but I would just add the following: With the fact that the 3 bet is large, the fact that he seems to have lost a few chips early, and the fact that he has the button, I think he may flat call here to gamble on/ensure a full double up (+ the change). Overall, though, definately fold. It's good that this hand came in level 2 for you, I always find it easier to lay down huge hands at these stages. JC

Thanks JC. I pretty much snap folded the QQ and here is the result.

Having abit of a nightmare tonight!!!

I just time out/folded here, didn't wanna clash with the big-stack at this stage.

I had notes that this guy is just weird/bad from watching him in some higher level dyms this afternoon.....

Is a fold ok here? Was abit peed off at this stage, and was tempted to just JAM! But managed to just keep my discipline I think....

Probably the worst play I've made in 2 days here. Can't believe I managed to bubble this game from this situation....

Just looking for confirmation/rub downs at how bad this re-ship is....

Can't get the aggression out of me, I have AJ and a guy is stealing from me in the small blind.

Tbf, he called at the very last second, nearly turned it into a bluff and got it thru! lol

the aj isnt the worst reship i have ever seen. i like to defend my bb from people who i think are taking the pee. depends on your read of the sb and the size of the other stacks obv. but i dont think its awful! and as he had less chips your putting the pressure on and the fact they took time to call with aq tells u it cant be that bad a shove

As for flair with your 72, see my 23 play earlier in the thread. i think i win.

Unsure what to do here, wether to open jam, or raise fold.

    Thoughts?

The big blind has about 4k and has been really tight since doubling up.......

    Re Greghoggs hands:

I really like the squeeze there, like you say, so long as it has a very good chance of getting through. There's almost a 3rd of your stack out there with no strength shown, so yeah squeeze away I would say. I also like the way you've played the straight hand, risk aversion is key and flatting on the end is a great play in my opinion.

I prefer an open Jam here personally. I think you have too few chips to raise/fold so im opposite view of JC here!

I think 88 is about the worst i make this shove with tho. it is marginal!
