Personally I would just call here Doh since there are only 4 players left and 3 are on equal stacks. You can find better spots than this. However you were unlucky to run into A10, and quite often people fold hands like that on the bubble in DYMs anyway so you were quite unlucky. But no need to get in an all in situation at this stage in my opinion.
Ok i have played a couple of games and read all of this thread so i think i have a different mindset to how i played them before
£5.50 level
Reads: person who open raised has been limping in this spot previously with any suited cards 73/ q8 etc , i dont actually read this raise as too much strength possibly AQ/AJ sort of hand but i fold as im comfortable 2/5 , also he could still have a strong hand AK, QQ +
Should i be flatting here? or is fold standard? due to the wide range surely its too much of a gamble to re-raise or anything else
Level1 Kings, risky hand no reads on villain other then on JJ's hand so please comment on how u think i played it, again apologise if these are standard spots but just taking DYM bit more seriously then used to as a good way to tick over the bankroll
Re the JJ hand yg, a fold is fine obv.. But I wouldn't flat with the stacks, i would reship the lot or fold. we are not deep enough to set mine. It is shove or fold. with 5 left i dont think a shove is awful we are ahead a lot of the time here and we could get two folds and pick up the dead money.
The way you played the KK hand looks fine to me.
Goodluck with the dyms YG, they are a good way to keep the bankroll ticking over.
I'd shove or fold the jacks, really good hand to post actually, I really don't know what I'd do. Probably shove, but thats coz I'm still playing too laggy, not because it's the right thing to do....
Really not sure aboput the QKs either, utg 5 handed with 10xbb at 100/200 is one of the trickiest situations for marginal shoving spots imo.
I wouldn't c bet the kings, and I would probably fold the river too.
Thanks Greggers, did u miss the KQ hand? i'd love to know your thoughts and JC's
Also im not going to be playing enough of them to get annoyed i dont think, just 4-10 a day not huge volume as i said just ticks the bankroll over so i can play MTT's as a freeroll
JJ: I agree with what's been said above, it's definately a fold or shove, depending on reads. To be honest I'm shoving the majority of the time. If you definately don't read the OR as very strong, then I think you have to ship it. You can't worry about the call on the button imo as he has shown no strength (even though he's too short to be flatting raises really). Even though, your 2/5 here you're not really that comfortable. There's no real chance of you coasting to the money from here. So this is a great spot to pick up 1/3 of your stack, probably uncontested, or, if you are called, you figure to be a favourite anyway.
KQs: For me this depends on how the 2 not involved, and the table as a whole, is generally playing but by and large I think I really like this shove. I wouldn't want to shove if the big stack, or the guy second in chips were constantly bombing GNASHER's bb since if he is prone to calling light, he should get knocked out via this route fairly soon fairly often. However, if they're not doing you any favours and the table is just giving walk after walk (even more so if GNASHER is bombing your BB) then I think you have to take the iniative. This is starting to look like a 'me or him' spot and in these spots I will go out of my way to bomb my rival. KQs is a fine hand 4 handed, even against someone who is calling light, so yeah, I really like the shove.
KK: Doesn't look to me like there's much wrong here. I would probably call the weak bet on the river tbf and swear everytime it's a rag ace. The c-bet looks a touch weak to me but the most important thing is that it's the same as your c-bet when you hold AK.
Cheers JC, yep Gnasher was either getting walks or betting other 2 of post flop so i did think its a case of me or him and thought KQs does well against his range
first one for day FML. should i always go broke here? was suprisedd he called my 4 bet was debating the shove but didnt think i should, vs someone who plays alot i think i just got unlucky here
Re Greghogg's AK: OK, I've had a few days to mull this one over but am still finding it tricky. My first thought was that you must ship it here, AK is just too strong in the late stages. However, shadow is extremely short and pot committed now so there's a good chance of him being eliminated this hand. If he wins and doubles up, then the other guy is now very short. It't the times when shadow shoves and Jonesy folds that hurt us really and this probably won't happen too often.
All that being said, I can't get past the strength of AK at this stage so I think the correct play is actually to raise the exact amount (to the decimal place) required to put shadow all-in and hopefully Jonesy will pick up on this and you can get a 2 vs 1 cooperation play going. If Jonesy doesn't come along, you're still virtually always in fine shape with AK.
It's a bit hard to say tbh because you're in the sb, so you can shove a wide range, especially if you've been playing tight.
However, it does just look like you might be shoving too wide and deep. I had the exact same problem last month and it cost me a fair bit before it suddenly dawned on me one night as I was getting in to bed. Tighten up your requirements here and you should notice improvements in your results. Remember that 10 BB's is not necessarily the point where you need to shove (especially in DYMs), it's merely the point at which, if you decide to play the hand, you need to shove. You can always open fold.
Cheers JohnO again, i was unsure as i shoved on them whether thats ok but i dont think i was ever getting away from it, felt for sure he could have another pp or AK at worst. sucked it up now playing some good poker again another suckout led to another non cash AQ i reshoved budgirls Q8 who would have bubbled i then run AJ on button v AK
can see how frustrating it can be play perfectly against an opponent and the suckouts are soul destroying lol
3/5 first session today, still dont think i've done much wrong and much more aware thanks to you guys so thanks. i am only 2 tabling fwiw
still good day for it 14 cashes from 18 at £5.50 level, not all total profit as had time to run bad in 3-4 MTT's in between but defo done my bankroll good and still enjoying the dynamics at the mo. i think mainly as i have been winning but if i had a bad run i dont think i could play them much more :P
JohnO, how do you deal with it for eg. when you was on your bad run, when the poker gods are just not with you how do you motivate yourself to continue to play them?
I am still enjoying them but think if i had a losing day in them i wouldn't play them probably
This hand from last night made me rofl. HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH MIN DONK BETS?. I would have folded on the flop to a decent bet but there we go.
The beauty of position. I thought he had a weak king, hence hoping he will believe me for the A when i reship river. TBH, im surprised i got this through and i dont have a clue what he had...Oh well all pots count

Greg you are beyond terrible. Turning QQ into a bluff with a 3k stack 5 handed in a dym at 100/200 against a donk has to be the worst play of all time. Raise more pre. Posted by DOHHHHHHH

again 5.50 stake
reads: player on bb has been very loose whole game, he previously nearly called a shove of mine with QJ so likely to call light here imo
Im assuming this is a bad shove utg and also i was 3/4 even marginal at this point, is fold better in this spot in future?
