I think you have to re-pop the river there, flat calling is just too tight/risk averse, even for DYMs. It would take serious reads for me to flat call there and in fact I can't think of one player on the site who would make me want to flat call, they could have A5!!!!!
Say one of the 5s was an A, so the board read A-A-5-9-6, then I might flat call. But even then I would stack off against a lot of players, think of all the As you are beating. It's the same with the 5s here. But as it is, your hand is even stronger. With 2 As on board the only reason I might flat is that I have the under house and am losing to A-6, A-5 and A-9. But here you've rivered the over house to fives full so I'm 99% sure I'm ahead and going for full value accordingly.
Don't give unknown opponents as much credit as you have in this hand mate, look what he turned up with.
Could I have played this differently, hate being in unwilling awkward spots ? Perhaps I could have called the flop bet off and see what the turn brings rather than re raise but was scared of flush draws with a 4 way pot. Had this player down as loose/aggressive from previous games.
Thought I'd reflect on my first week of grinding, and give an update as to where I stand.
Been a dis-jointed week!!!
I'm still doing my 1 day on, 1 day off (booze), but the plan was to also play on the days I have off......
Started on Monday, I had a starting "BR" which I noted. I logged on and couldn't get out of the old routine, messing about on m/s/n, the forum, other forums, watching poker vids, basically doing anything but grind.
Did the usual bits n bobs, few HU, few dyms, few mtts, then at 6pm, saw that the site was down for maintenence. Mentally that's game over for me from then, so closed down, put the beer away, finished by 9-30 am.
Ended Monday -£3 (224 points)
Tuesday, struggled to find the motivation to play sober. Went for an hours kip at tea time and woke with a horrid toothache. Lasted a couple of hours, there is no way I could play under those circumstances.
So Tuesday was a wash out - toothache stopped play.
Wednesday
(see monday) - Exactly the same story, blo0dy site outage.
Thursday
Turning point. Played without a beer from 8pm - 1am, a solid block of around 30ish dyms.
Lost £1.50 doing so.....but I managed to focus/concentrate, and do what I haven't done for like 2 years. Proved to myself it's in there somewhere, just gotta find it.
Friday
Yesterday I had a pretty sick run, I couldn't lose a flip, all my 60/40's I won, and I had Hoggy i diots snapping my 3b shoves off with Queen high. Good times.
Ironically the games I did lose were sooooo sick. So I'm not sure If I actually ran that good, considering some of the beats I took, I'd be interested to see my "all in ev" thingy for yest anyway!
Stats from the SSkope wizz kid Irish rover for yest read....
34 wins from 41 dym games yesterday most impressive sir doh .
edit : roughly 84% strike rate .
So yest I made £265 profit from £10 (and a few £5) dyms.....
- £50 c4p bonus.....And I'm still looking at a solid £200ish session.
-------------------------------------------------
Total Points this week - 963*
* Now obviously I'm well behind schedule, taking 4 days to get 950, I'm never gonna get to 10k with that ratio....
But I've had a pretty dis-jointed week, with the maintenece and tooooooothache, which has hopefully gone away now, and I have barely played a hand of cash....
Cash is where I expect most of my profit to come from, obviously, so will be making a concerted effort next week to put some hours in after the dym sessions.
Overall, profit is profit, and I'm alot more confident about making 10k now, than I was at the start of the week without a doubt.

Thanx for all the help on the thread, plz keeo posting your hands/questions, and replying to mine. Really helping, as you can see from my results.
Off for an afternoon of sports watching/betting (seperate account), sleep this headache off, then back o0n the grind tonight for a steady 300 points worth!
Massive grind tomorrow too, going for a 800 point day.
This happened shortly after the other hand last night. its at that point i switched from 11 to 5.5s and from being over 50 down i broke even in the end

It will do when I start running bad and breaking even, or maybe even losing......
But as long as I'm making money I'm happy to grind it out, it's all part of a long term plan for me to take poker more seriously, I don't play/make anywhere near enough as I should.
Hoping to play alot more cash this week, starting tonight.
Don't think I'd be able to crush 50nl anymore though, deffo not at peak times.
100nl seems easier at the times I play (midnight-6am) .....

The number for my local chinese, is just 1 didgit off mine......
We get people ringing all the time to place an order, now wonder I have so many with evil people putting ideas in my head!!! Im sure the chinese people pay an English bloke to ring me and try and order, they have good implied odds doing that, as I'm bound to ring them within half an hour and order a tenners worth!!!

Anyway dyms!! Where's all your help on this thread??? With your mountain of dym experience, and un-real quad-floppin abilities!!
Here's a hand for you'ze to have a go at...
First game of the day....
I soooooo wanted to raise/stack off the flop....
As played I VERY NEARLY folded the turn, and planned toi c/f the river, until he bet so small.......I thought I would call, and could recover from 1k. Had he bet any more I think I fold without reads.
General rules for playing massive draws on level 1/2/3?????
I think you played the flop fine with the 43 hand. The turn is where the decision is imo. my instinct is to reship the lot in because i think we are ahead. But im not sure this is right over time? JC? The flat call on the turn just sets up a difficult decision on the river. Posted by GREGHOGG
I agree with all of this. Flop is fine in my opinion, look to get it in on the turn.
Re playing draws in general in the early levels, I like to play them as you have here. Call (with good odds) and keep the pot small until you hit, then look to get it in when you do (especially when you're still vulnerable like with the low flush).
JJ, I've deleted my post cos i think it only made sence in my own head and hard to get into words! lol Basically at the end of the day you are winning so your obviously doing something right...some people like to play tight and push at the end when needed and some like to chip build early to sail through the bubble without having to play, you just need to see which you prefer Gl, keep winning x

why did you delete that nana it made sense to me in terms of the seat values.
Basically dyms are all about chip preservation. But i like to get chips early if possible, so if i flop or turn a str8 or a flush, im more than happy to stack off, even if my opponant has live outs. As long as im at least a 65%- 70% fav when the money goes in im happy. even if its early.
BUT if there is any doubt in my mind where i stand in a hand i am happy to make redic tight folds early too
Ill post results with this one so we can see what the other players showed down so you can get an idea of their play.
I think my fold is correct due to their stacks, but am i missing a spot here to put pressure on them? Could i get 2 folds? it looks like the stacks are fairly even.
I did pretty much snap fold fwiw, but afterwards i was thinking am i a bit tight?.... hummmmm
