Now that tp is over (for me) I want to get back to trying to play and learn abit of omaha, to be able to compete at least at the lower levels, 5/10 and 10/20p.
You mentioned agessss ago you had found a wicked omaha book - but didnt want to say what it was called. YET.
Just wondered if you can now? - I need to get a better understanding of the game by reading somethingstructured.

Tikay, Where can I play live poker (as in Holdem) as I seem to be getting very frustrated recently by getting to a certain point in tournaments, then crashing and burning. I have improved my game but seem to get stuck around the bubble area. I`m not trying to hang on to cash (been there done that ),I`m trying to move on from that and progress into the later stages of tournaments. I always seem to lose my stack in 1 hand normally when i`m big blind and not wanting to play (check, then end up with top pair and feel obliged to raise or at least call). Any help gratefully received. (Live poker WHERE,nothing dodgy,Leicester area). Many Thanks Steve.. (STEVEMAX)...
hi tikay,i was wondering if you could help me out here.
it would be the best thing ever and would make me so happy if there was a possibility of purchasing or be donated some skypoker merchandise.for example,a hoodie,or t-shirt,or hat. I play a fair bit of live poker at local clubs,in a pub tournament (which goes regonal, and a few other tournaments but don't have any poker clothing and most of the players i come up against have poker clothing from full tilt and pkr. As i am a member of sky poker and play often on here,i would be more than happy to wear sky poker clothing and represent them in these tournaments i play in.
would there be a possibility of purchasing some sky poker clothing or be donated some to help promote sky poker?
thanks for your time tikay and can't wait for your reply or any help from fellow poker players.
Hope you had a nice restful Sunday, I am going to make a guess that you had some live action yesterday, if that being the case, how did you go on please?
Hi there again, jus to say,any help from any of the sky poker guys or anybody with any information for me about the merchandise would be very greatful and i would be more than happy to hear from you.

Mush - I have not forgotten your question - I will reply fully in the morning & get all the questions answered up to date.
Hoping that you (or anyone!) can answer this question for me. I've only been playing poker for a few days (loving it!)now so apologies if this may seem obvious to the more seasoned players.
When i'm playing, I try to play as few hands as possible and only those that I think are strong hands depending on my position (i've watched the tutorial videos!). Sometimes i'll fold a hand only to watch that hand become a flush/straight/full house on the flop/turn/river and I think to myself "if only I had stayed in the hand". Am I not playing correctly or statistically speaking over the course of a tournament or game am I more likely to get beat if i doplay those hands? Or should I just be pushing my chips in? Personally, I don't like the thought of pushing a lot of chips (although I will have a look at a cheap flop if my gut tells me to?) just to see a flop that may or may not suit me, but so far i've been proved wrong a lot of times.
Sorry if im coming across as the riddler with all my questions and I hope i'm posting all this in the right place...
In my first game here, 4 of us left on the table, the lad with the least chips went all in before the flop, I called with my KQ suited (he didn't have a lot of chips left) and the girl to the left of me also called. The flop wasn't great for me but I thought I was still leading. The girl on the left checked so I put a bet in to force her to fold because I fancied my chances against 1 hand (who I thought was all in because he didn't have a great deal of chips left) rather than facing two hands. I honestly thought she might try checking all the way through. Turns out he won with his pair of 3's (hole cards(?)) (win some, lose some), but I got some abuse of the girl who folded because I stuck a bet in and still lost. I think I was correct in what I done, and to be honest i'd do it again (unless i'm told otherwise). Did I make the correct play? Incidently I ended up winning the game, so I stand by my actions, but it would be nice to hear the opinion of someone with more than a couple of days poker experience!

Hi Pete
The problem is a very comon one, the way to do it is, just forget about what you have mucked, because once they are folded, they are dead, your cards will hit time and time again, but, as you say, is it worth taking the risk? and just bleeding chips if it dont, course not

This one is more difficult and depends on your thinking, there is an unwritten rule that says if there is 1 person "all in" and 2 callers, then they should check it down, 2 chances to put that player out, I must admit I check it down, even if I know I am in front, there have been two instances where I have checked it to the river, but then the other player has decided that they want to try and steal it and pushed, the problem with that was, I had the best hands and had to call and put not one, but two players out, so the decision has to be yours, but beware if you are wrong, and, beware if you do think you are ahead, but you were wrong, and you stop the other caller from playing and he, or she would have won the hand and knocked the all in player out, I suppose one way of looking at it is, if the player who was all in doubles through and then knocks you out on the bubble?, it has been done, at the end of the day, it your money, you play how you like, just think of the consequences .

Hi acebarry! Thank you for your advice, it's very much appreciated! I don't want my questions to sound stupid, but i'd like to probe the forum for some further info
Further to your answer acebarry, I suspect there is a significance to putting a player out that I don't yet understand? I obviously understand the aim of the game is to eventually take everyones chips, but is there some significance in "allowing" one player to knock another out? To elaborate I would like to use my example above (after a few days playing I don't really have many examples lol!). The player who went all in was playing very loose throughout the game and my thinking is that, given the right circumstances it would be better for me to take his chips, rather than let anyone else take them. I know that it only takes a single hand to turn your game around so could a player who plays this way be considered dangerous at the table considering how many hands they are willing to play/community cards they are willing to see and therefore best taken out quickly before they can do any damage to anyone else's stack?
Also regarding the all in issue I had, from the tutorial videos i've watched it's my understanding (so far!) that someone who calls then checks is showing signs of potential weakness and is therefore liable to be raised by me. I've also observed more games than i've played so far just to see how everyone gets on (not just this site) and it's come to my attention that players with very few chips will go all in with practically anything. I think I made my decision to raise based on my perceived weakness of the player to my left, and the fact that I was pretty sure the all in guy had nothing (plus the odds of going against two hands). It's just annoying me that the girl was rude about my play, but I only played that hand according to all the information I had at that time?
I wasn't aware of the unwritten checking rule, but I will mix it up and try it next time i'm in that situation and see if I fair better!

As the name says, you start with 1 chip
The blinds start at 0.25 and 0.50 so its not a complete all in fest
