Would you believe him? hmmmmmmmm ..................

30k chips on break. Hand I lost 15k chips went like this.

Fish raised and pro just called, I 3 bet pre with 1010, both called.

Came Axx two spades, checked to me and I bet, just pro called.

His range is basically anything at this point, al
    though I'm 90% sure he doesn't have the A.

He check raises the turn big, I put him on the flush or complete air.

I re-raise small, comes spade on river and he bets, I fold. I asked him on the break and he tells me he had the spade flush.

Patrick Walsh One limper utg, and poor player (pp) raises big in sb, pro calls in bb. Comes down Jxx and pp checks, pro bets. She calls, comes a queen and she leads big. Pro tank calls. Board now reads JxxQ8, pp bets bigish, pro tank calls 77, and it's good!!!!

Haha I just want to explain this. Me and him had a fair bit of history before today. He was playing 80% of hands and he's not afraid to call very light pre. He also plays up to 10knl online too. ANYWAY - I agree that I probably butchered the hand AND running this vs anyone else is suicidal. Nevertheless I actually got a very light double up from him. So if anything, this hand just set up a very spewey image, that on this occasion worked to my advantage.

Bagged up a some chips to go into day two. Will post an undate tomorrow morning!

(A huge thanks to Dohhh for updating this thread. I can't log in via my iphone to post them myself. Tomorrow, I'll be posting all updates on my twitter: walshp1)

    Ty guys!

    --

For those wondering what's going on, yesterday was day 1 of the GUKPT Plymouth which is paid for under my Skypoker sponsorship. Starting stack was 50,000 chips, with 25/50 ante.

My table was fairly solid. About 3 of the guys, play poker for a living, 3 competent players and 2 recreational players. Interestingly I had history with one of the guys that plays for a living (he's played up to £10knl before) - He used to mess around at the casino near me, donking around in tournaments, in between playing £100+ a hand blackjack.

From the go, I set up a tight-spew/aggro image. '

Fish raised and guy I had history with just called, I 3 bet pre with 1010, both called.

Came Axx two spades, checked to me and I bet, just pro called.

His range is basically junk at this point, and
     I'm 95% sure he doesn't have the A.

I bet the turn and he check raises big, I put him on the flush or complete air.

I re-raise small and he calls. Comes spade on river and he bets, I fold. I asked him on the break and he tells me he had the spade flush.

Me and him had a fair bit of history before today. He was playing 80% of hands and he's not afraid to call very light pre. He also plays up to 10knl online too. ANYWAY - I agree that I probably butchered the hand AND running this vs anyone else is suicidal.

    Couple more hands..

I'm first to act and raise, guy next to me calls and sb calls. Both are okayish. Flop comes Q57, two spades. I bet and both call, comes a 2 and I bet, both call. river 10. Sb checks, I shove......

Both fold, I show 89 two spades. Which put me back up to 37kish.

    --

First hand back I raise with 77 from co. Folds to pro in bb who calls (he'd been defending 95% of sbs). Comes down 9xx two diamonds. I bet 2/3 he calls. Turn is another 9, I count out 60% raise but accidentally put in 1300 (25%). He calls. Rivers an ace of diamonds, he bets 90% pot. I call after 15 seconds and 77 is good

    --

Then the monster hand. There was an interesting dynamic at the table, bad player was limping utg with junk and had been

getting a lot of 3 bets to isolate. I was one of the players who'd been 3 betting wide to isolate, which suprisingly were

getting through. Another bad player raises big utg (I'd been 3 betting her tons too and it had gotten through 4/5)

3 players call and I'm in the bb with aces. I 3 bet to 5k more. Folds to the pro, who'd I'd spewed against earlier and

seen how wide I was 3 betting. He shoves! I snap off for my tournament life. He has KQss!!!! Camera comes over.

Flop's dealt 592 one spade, turn is a 4 of spades! One more spade and I'm out in horrific fashion. River's blank

    --

Final few hours I slowly chip up. After a total of 9 hours, a total of 76 players registered, 64-66 players remain. Average is 58,500 and I'm on 90,000 chips. Start again at 2pm today. I'll be updating my progress on my twitter: www.twitter.com/walshp1

    --

I'd like to thank Jamie and his partner for coming to offer support (lovely couple, and I wish them the best of luck in Vegas) & thanks to Dohhh for updating this thread.

    Thanks man

Played terrible on day 2. Got involved in stupid situations. Made a big laydown with AQ on Q10xx flop. Got owned by fish. Learnt that it's easier to bluff pros than fish haha. Put a fish on monkeytilt after calling clock on him (I have never contemplated doing such a thing, but there was 60k in the pot and he'd check raised 10xx two club flop and it was 10k more to call the shove & was taking agggggggggggggesssss) As some of you saw, I was on the feauture table for day 2. Great publicity for sky. Drowned my sorrows last night. Will post a proper update later. I love you all.
