Well done to all of the sky team in vegas. Would love to here all your stories of your time in Vegas.
Thank you Tikay for keeping us all enthralled with your tales and pics.
A big round of applause to the forum who kept us all informed of the tweets and gave our boys some very helpful information on the competitors at their respective tables.
I thank you all for a most enjoyable time over these past few days.
Hi All, Just wanted to say a big thank you to all those who supported myself and the other sky boys on the forum, it was brilliant to know we had all that support behind us. A special thank you to bugaloo for all the research, it was greatly appreciated, just a shame I could not use it a bit better! It was defnitely a once in a life time experience and I would recommend all you guys and girls to try the sats next year. If I can qualify, anyone can. A special thank you to Tikay and Julian who made me feel part of the Sky Poker team, I could not have wished to meet nicer people, they really make the experience that little bit more special. Finally, just to all the other lads Tommy, Neil, Dylan, Wayne/Helen, Matt, Sam, Marc, James, it was pleasure to meet you guys and hopefully we will be able to catch up in Nottingham. All the best Kevin Finan (or as Tikay likes to call me Kevin Smith). Posted by oldboy271

I must say when I saw your pic I fell off my chair, didnt know you was a poker player let alone sky reg! It seems you have come a long way from the Blick Rothenberg poker night! You must have really been living the dream in vegas.
It was funny sending the message about you being an accountant and west ham fan, that must have freaked you out!
Sam Holden just lost most of his stack JJ<AA, 10BB left, lets hope he can run it back up.
Could a lady make the final table? There are still 5 in the field which is now down to 108, including Vanessa Selbst. Even though Vanessa is above average there are 3 other women with even bigger stacks than her.
Actor Kevin Pollak managed to run very deep but busted with QQ<QQ!
I was in the lift at work late October last year and chatting to a guy i know, and he tells me he is going to Vegas that weekend, oh nice say I, I would love to go buy not managed to get there yet, are you going to play some poker i ask, no I dont play says he but a few of the family are going to watch my god son play in a tournament out there that he is in, hes got through to the last round erm...says I do you mean he is one of the number 9? Dunno what you mean he says, omg (slightly freaking now) what is your god sons name, oh he's called Sam Holden!!!
Sam Holden doubled-up late and is still alive going into day 6. The 5 ladies all made it as well, a couple of them are well above average. There are now only 97 of the 6598 entrants left.
It's been a great couple of weeks hearing about the antics of the LV crew; the up's & downs, highs & lows, and this thread optimises the good things about our great community. Setting the alarm early to read the overnight action; imagining Tikay running around the Amazon room, with his man bag flapping and him trying not to spill the coffee, keeps us amused everyday.
You guys that have worked tirelessly to collect all the information are a credit to the site, and deserve all the accolades going; may I suggest a discount on the SPT Nottingham buy-in?
Tony once again you show what a great guy you are, and we are all better for knowing you, keep up the good work, and remember:
YOU CAN'T RETIRE................................OK?
Thanks to everyone who helped to keep us all informed. Top class work by you all but I hope you don't mind if I single out Tikay. The amount of work he gets through puts a lot of people to shame. Well done Sir.
Wishing you all the luck. Can I just ask you tikay didn't think photo taking was allowed at the tables, long time since I've been to Vegas has it altered? Anyway glad you're enjoying xx

Good morning.
I got back from Vegas yesterday afternoon, & I am now on "catch up", so I'll try & reply to any remaining questions soonest.
Photos @ the Tables in the WSOP?
All accredited Media, which includes myself, ARE allowed to take photos at the Tables, during play, but we are NOT allowed to use flash photography. Hence, as I only have a cheapish camera, and I'm awful @ photography, many of the photos were pretty bad.
I don't know much about photography, but I do know that light level is crucial, especially when using "zoom", & blurring occurs when trying to use zoom in poor light conditions.
There is no natural light in the Rio - anywhere, not one external window! - & light is provided by downlighters, which, it seemed to me, also affected photo quality.

The Rio is a pain in the backside from a photography point of view. I use a decent DSLR (/brag) and even then it's a struggle.
Morning one and all from a very jet lagged GB and travelling at my age certainly doesn't get any easier!!!!
First and formost I would personally like to thank the guys that provided such great detail for our table draws, you really don't know how much of a help that was and the length and detail you went too was imense...So again thank you very much.....
Secondly... The work that the great man himself TK puts into the whole VLV experience, he works endlessly and tirelessly, without a moan or a groan, unless Dylan forgot his venti Latte 1st thing in the morning, then his life was **** and rightly so ....Being a part of it this year was certainly an eye opener, the work that goes into this thread was non stop... I moan about my job sometimes but seriously 11am - past 1am 6-7 days straight was a grind I'm sure all by itself....So TK I thank thee but please next time no dodgy table pictures of me, I should sue you for that .....
Once again a thousand thankyou's for all your support, comments and up to date info....
The tournament is now down to only 3 tables, 27 players. There are now no Brits or particularly big names left in the field.
Personally I'm rooting for the two ladies still alive, it would be absolutely huge for poker if a lady could take down the Main Event.
Play resumes tonight, they'll play until only 9 remain and the final table is set. Then we all have to wait 3 months; the final table will be played out in late October.
Both myself and Steven (Oceans007) had a fantastic time in Vegas both on and off the tables. To qualify from £2.40 was an absolute dream. All the guys made us welcome and were on hand to offer help and advice at all times. Although disappointed to miss out on day 3 by about 30mins i have learned a lot from the experience. Day 1 was a bit of a grind but started to open up a bit and enjoy the experience on day 2.
Thanks to everyone on the forum for their support. Hopefully see you in vegas next year!!

"Wow! Upto 2.3m after tripling up on a coinflip 44>AQ after guy calls and then folds to larger shove."
That puts Sam up to average, best of luck to him.
WSOP
In the current standings there are 3 women in the top 10.
Good, huh.
