was playing in a tour venue received the following information the price of entry will be £750 also negotiations with sky to show the tournaments live They are looking to ramp up the tournament
Surely a £750 entry fee would drive most of the regular Sky players away and just attract the pros/semi-pros who play the likes of the GUKPT regularly?

I really don't see what you were told to be any where near accurate Bill. I may well be mistaken but I just don't see it.
I remember my old Grand-Pappy used to have a right go at me when we were waiting for a bus. I'd walk up the street and look for the 158. He'd always say to me 'That's pointless, you're not going to make it come any faster.'
I share everyone's desire to see the dates ASAP to make the necessary arrangements, however constant asking is not going to move it along any sooner. I think we've pretty much got the gist that Rich et all are fully aware of a huge amount of players wanting to know the dates as soon as they can.
I would humbly suggest chilling on the constant asking and just let them do their job.
I think Sky have taken their eye off the picture here. The SPTs are extrememly popular, but their success is also reliant on their regular nature. You go to one, have a cracking time, and start planning for the next one. It seems that in order to have "an amazing exciting extra special" tour, we are, in fact, having no tour at all. Given that Sky promise a couple of months' notice, it is clear we are looking at April at the earliest for the first date this year.
In a normal year, we'd have had the third leg going on in April. People are already committing themselves to other events, and there will inevitably be clashes with other tours - only 52 weekends in the year, and all that. As others have said, why not tell us what's happening?

I hear the Grosvenor Leeds 50 quid game 30k chips 30 min clock finished in 1 day was a great success and is a monthly event.
If sats are starting tomorrow I would hazard a guess at 3-4 weeks for the first one!
In Response to Re: Sky Poker Tour 2013 : Page 1 - Opening post. ************ Copied here ************ For now we have released the venues as follows Aspers Newcastle Sporting Emporium, Dublin Broadway, Birmingham Aspers, Stratford (London) Dusk Till Dawn (Grand Final) Posted by NoseyBonk
It's looking like tomorrow now (as an email confirming the satellite details is still awaited) just to save the refresh F5 process for tonight!
We are releasing the first event details for about six weeks time
Other events will be released asap, a schedule is with Sky to approve. Obviously I had to change all the dates. It's frustrating that I can't be completely open as to why, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end when we confirm something (not part of the first event) that is taking ages to sort (Scousered is along the right lines)
I know people have been booking up other stuff, and I know people need as much notice as possible to book time off and changes shifts etc. I have done my very best to get dates with the minimum clashes posssible
