I've been off the forum for a while. This is my 2p on the legs being (mainly) in England, and not in Scotland or Wales. England has 10 x the population of Scotland and 18 times the population of Wales. Thus is Sky did 20 events, you might reasonably expect 1 in Wales, 2 in Scotland and 17 in England. As there seem to be only 5 legs this year, none in Scotland or Wales seems statistically sound. Why on Earth they're going to Ireland, I have no idea. Posted by Eyeman

The lack of/slow roll of dates for this years SPT events is a bit of a joke now. All the other major tours have announced their dates and venues. And I'm sure that it isn't only Rosjim and myself who have committed to some of them instead already. Posted by joesman1

As with everything, over time, change. There have been a lot of new tournies online and it follows that changes in the SPT would happen.
The unfortunate thing is that when organising any event, especially events of this size, can be difficult. This would be due to things like licensing, numbers aloud under the license, fire regs, gaming licenses, facilities available etc etc...
I am sure that the SPT will be a big success, and who knows..maybe winners may get entry to some of the top events in europe as part of the prize..would you lot be moaning if you had a seat in EPT main event in Monaco???...... give it a rest guys and when SKY are ready we will know what's what.....

Well said mate, and as been said some of us are shift workers and planning time off for SPTs is hard, people do work at weekends.

organising events such as football fixtures or horse racing meetings is probably more complex since there are more risks of uncertanity such as bad weather etc......yet dates for such events are announced well before the actual season starts. this allows fans to buy tickets, book flights & hotels or book holidays from work. There is no excuse by skypoker that can justify any delays, you have to put your hands up and admit that this is a mess and you will not repeat it again in future - if the issue is about makig deals with casinos/hosts or god knows what, that should have been done last year and at this moment you're surpose to be negotiating deals for SPT 2014. In this day n age, every business must be run professionally and efficiently to keep clients satisfied/happy, even non-profit charity groups are better organised. For someone to wake up and say, 'don't worry, there won't be a tour in february etc etc' is utter rubbish, no one is worried that there might be a sudden announcement of a tour for feb, people just want to plan for these events just like they plan for other more professionally run events. just because you have a loyal community who can put up with any c....p put in front of them should not be an excuse for incompetence. personally, i've never been to any SPT and I only joined skypoker in nov 2012, at that time I read an announcement saying dates for SPT will be announced in Dec 2012. I became excited about it since this was going to be my first time to get involved in live poker. but after this never ending drama, I will not be going to any SPT as I've already commited to 3 poker tours organised by someone else.

Well said. Pretty sure Sky aren't being laxidaisical and withholding info to be spiteful. It will take as long as t takes and I'm sure the delays will be well worth it.

Why can the sky poker players, who are responsible for the success of the SPT not be informed as to what has come up, which is responsible for the delay in stating the dates for the tour events?
Surely it cannot interfere with every date, in which case the majority of dates could be announced and give people a chance to get personel issues sorted to make sure they can attend.
If it does, however, interfere will all dates it can only be something along the lines of a merge with another tour/new tour. This would in my opinion detract from the uniqueness of the SPT, althought maybe resulting in bigger fields and prize pools, there are plenty of options if that is what you want to play in.
The SPT is a great chance for on line sky players to socialise and to play live, and against their on-line adversaries, if this was to be affected, I think it is to the detriment of the entire ethos of the tour.
I have heard the reason for the delay is they want Richard Orford to play in all SPTs with a % of prizepool being taken out so he can play WSOP main event.
