So this post is based mostly on the past 2 or 3 days sorry for no updates. Ive finnished my Micro Millions grind. I made a small profit but basically i wasn't enjoying it.
Ive played some cash. Overall lots of signs of improvements, im not going broke in spots now where previously i was like im huge, get it in. Infact people may be amazed to hear, ive became a nit folding QQ twice pre and AK once pre. Fairly confident long term in those folds in those spots.
Over the past 3 sessions, ive not made huge nosebleed profits, 4 tabling normally 2 NL10 and 2 NL20 ive made a recorded 3 session profit record of +£1 +£1 +£5 and +£5.
I know that doesnt seem to add with the balance of the last post i played a couple of sats the other day and got nowhere.
you were at few my tables last night you are more aggro than what I remember you must have 3bet me like 4 times in 15 mins lol but good to hear your doin well m8
Hey Mate, Nice jump in your bankroll. Do you play mostly MTTs? Would you say the best way to build, or geta decent jump in bankroll, is through getting a good win in a MTT as opposed to just grinding cash? Posted by LARSON7
I've written 4 responces and deleted all 4 to this question. Trying to answer it without going way off topic and being honest is hard. Firstly thanks, the main event deep run involved some luck but thats nessessary, and without being harsh, i was due in these main events.
The best way to build a bankroll i think is preferance. Im strictly a better mtt player, mainly because i have a larger edge on people who are unable to play a short stack. That 10-40BB zone is where i am really in a very comfortable zone. Much deeper than that i make mistakes. Leaks creep up etc.
I was doing a cash sweat before, after a hand someone said to me "just call there, not many scary turns" to which my reply was, "the turn in general is scary"
Thats a key point you have to worry about on where you decide to grind. If you are more comfortable playing through the streets 100BB+ deep then cash is where you want to be. If like me, you are stronger in short stack dynamic then mtts are better.
Having said that, I cant think of many better feelings than shoving 10BB on the bubble of a tournament, knowing if your called your behind. Expessially when the bubble is worth a few bob.

You 4bet me once, and i think you outflopped me another ha. The other time u folded was the time i had aces. lol .
Its hard to be aggro at NL4 and NL10 where we've had alot of our hands, NL20 allows me to be slightly more aggro, expessially on that table. Fwiw other than the time you 4bet me i was happy getting it all in pre everytime.
Like Liam says your game has got alot more aggro lately and your playing well mate although i think i must be adding to your BR too much when you said you wished i had been on your 20nl tables tonight
Pleased to see ya doing well Don. Like Liam says your game has got alot more aggro lately and your playing well mate although i think i must be adding to your BR too much when you said you wished i had been on your 20nl tables tonight GL Daz Posted by _ARAZI_
Ha i think you misunderstand me there daz. Those NL20 tables where rather boring tbh. At least the hands i have with yourself have a talking point, i may have continued playing if i wasnt falling asleep.

so your saying my timing was awesome lol
the time I 4bet you folded think I had a5ss, the hand you think i outflopped you was that the q6x flop I had you in that spot, and time I folded when you had aces i had kk just did not feel right lol nah think I must have had junk.
but yeah least you play a wider range than some players at these levels are you not playing many mtts now or just mixing it up?
So with the release of gears of war judgment i haven't played quite as much as normal. Has also been very nice to do something im able to have a laugh with Mel too. Also the return of the F1 has completely knocked off my sleeping.
However i did get an hour in yesterday had some fun, got into 2 hands with Anna one of whcih got shown on tv. I actually felt the other was a better hand but obviously I dont know anna's hand so maybe it was much more standard than i think.
Today i played a little mastercash, i promised to help at mate on the above xbox game until 7. Although we failed level at 6.30 so amazingly i got onto the tables which i wasn't expecting.
Early on had a crazy 300BB hand with fellow diary writer Benc, hope he won't mind me posting it. Ace high won lol.

Once i peel pre i was planning to make a move. Given this flop i obviously have equity so made a raise designed to look valuey and commiting. He read it right, i snapped and didn't get there. I actually expected a fold alot of the time.
I seem to be getting better at minimising losses and increasing wins. The big hand of the session did involve some luck.

I put oppo on a FD and was tempted for the overbet shove on the river, but i felt i had to bet smaller to keep other hands he had in his range in. It went in anyways so didn't miss any value.
Happy with how im playing now, and i'm enjoying playing cash at the moment as well.
i'm to used to stacking off terribly in hypers so that will explain that hand lol, to be honest seeing as we were hu and you are a good aggro player who knows i'm likely to be 3betting alot i didn't think you had much when you just flatted would of expected a 4bet with the mid to higher end of your opening range so that meant 10s and js were very unlikely and obv the higher pairs which i guess made me follow my instincts. When you raised my cbet i thought i could get some folds from your one pair J hands and any pairs you thought may off been good on that flop that would bet to take down the pot there and then. However as i mentioned in my diary i wasnt't sure about my play at all in reflection and i definetly won't be taking credit for a soul read or anything, was just going on instincts that you wasnt that strong and trying to take you off a better hand and obv knew if my thoughts on the hands you could turn up with were wrong i could always hit my gutshot, backdoor flush or even one of my two overcards.
You can believe all that or you can just assume i'm a donk and stack off 300bbs with a gutshot... some players just can't fold AQ... ha ha
ps forgot to add i think your play was definetly good and the majority of the time as you said would expect to see a fold and take it down on the flop.
haha fwiw i like the hand, i stacked off 300BB pot with 9 high init. Some fish just cant fold lol. . I agree with the instinct thing, think it was Larsson asked earlier in my diary about mtts and its so hard to answer because i have played by instict for so long.
Pretty horrid session tbh. Pleased to have minimised the losses. Couple of annoying spots, where i maybe paid too much. Ran AK into a good aggro player who had Aces to block my breakevenness.
Cant complain just never got going. Always next time.
Hand 1 - I think your 3bet is too small, I'd be going 3x the open (£1.80) even if it was just 1 open, but this is an open and a call, so I'd go to something like £2.20 ish. Obv we love getting it in on this flop, just unlucky.
Hand 2 - Again, just unlucky.
Your BR doesn't seem to be getting damaged too much so you must be winning some other pots, just keep it up and the tides will turn.

i stopped after these hands both where very early in session and obviously i.just wasnt feeling it. obviously happy getting it in with sets on these boards. just me and variance not getting along in cash lol
March 26th Rediculous session. Loaded 4 tables played for half an hour then gave up. Was in 8 3bet pots, Every time i was miles ahead. I won none. 2 of which i got stacked in having flopped a set. Complete redic. Seriously wtf are you meant to do, ive flopped 5 sets this month, these are the only times i get it all in. FML Bankroll: £365.48 Points: 1760 Posted by The_Don90
- stop counting
- 5 sets in 20+ days says it all. Play more hands.
Ive not been playing much. Sleeping out of sorts, and the release of gears, and probably a lack of passion all meaning i just cant bring myself to open the tables.
On the gears of war tho, im half way through insane campain. Playing when none of my mates are on. Already 3rd re-up and have all the cog tags. Basically ive done everything but finnished the campain on hardest difficulty which i should do soon, and found an "epic reaper"- which as far as im aware finding and killing one will be like flopping a royal flush v top set turning quads.
In the life front Mel has started having tester pains, so getting exciting now.
So since ive not played and to be honest i just wanted to do something. I decided to play. Did some NL10 2 tables and a single NL20 to top up. Little bit of rustyness shown through as literally i havent thought about poker for a while. I was in 2 minds yesterday and even today i had to convince myself.
However the session started poorly. Got into a weird spot, where 100BB went in with 66 on a 788 board. Amazingly i was ahead, only for the river to land a 7. Hand is below for some general feedback, long term im happy, but open to critisim.

I recovered quickly stacked a guy twice. Will post second hand for review im not sure long term its the correct thing to do. However i'd literally stacked this guy 2 hands before with AA v TT on an 8 high rainbow board. He commented in chat, nothing vile, but it seemed of frustration so i believed in my head he could be light here. In hindsight i think im lucky.

So after that we lost 1 flip, 3b AK v a 50BB stack who 4b shoved their 9s. 9 in the door didnt help matters. We also had KT v QJ all in on a QJ8Kr board. Guy had less than pot back so i didnt see any reason to just peel turn again. Think id also kept all his bluffs in long enough. Maybe an arguement for just getting it in on the flop to be honest.
Anyways 1 other single major hand, and its v the villian from the first hand, now the table has filled up a little. The UTG limp raise from my notes means very little.
