Those last 2 articles show the post-Brexit world in which we now live.

The lorry chaos one? Nonsense. Loads of people are mentioning it. It's just that it has little to do with Brexit. And lots to do with P&O and this Government failing to properly invest in new infrastructure.

The disadvantaged regions one? Far more relevant. But, sadly, it was always going to be the people who were most in favour of Brexit who were going to come out worst. But-the fault is nothing to do with Brexit. And everything to do with this Government lying to us. Again.

I'd like to think that I would trust the British Government about as much as I trust the EU. Which is not a lot.

A low bar-but 1 that this Government manages to get under.

The promised bonfire of EU Laws hasnt yet materialised.
    Or has the plan changed?
It seems we are now intending to fit speed limiters to all new cars from this year.
Apparently this is to comply with EU Law.
So what happened the controls that we were supposed to be taking back?

    Agree with most of that.

The exception is "the EU have bent over backwards to help." No, they haven't. Doing a good job of pretending, but they have similarly stupid red lines. They are not worse than the UK-they are just not better.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland becomes increasingly polarised. And not in a good way. The more moderate Parties are being squeezed as the DUP and Sinn Fein seek to take over control. And the UK + EU fuel the fires while fighting their own little control issues.
Boris Johnson hints at further delay of post-Brexit EU import checks

He also indicated he had not abandoned hope that the Irish Sea border checks could, in time, be moved to the Northern Ireland border with the Republic of Ireland, something that was rejected during the four years of negotiations over the UK’s divorce from the EU.

The cliff-edge approach left exporters of fish and other fresh food in chaos with a lack of customs agents and veterinary staff to certify whether the produce complied with EU standards.

But in the UK, post-Brexit checks on fresh food were not implemented for imports, being pushed back in 2020 and on two occasions in 2021.

Under the current border plan, physical checks on meat were due to start on 1 July, dairy on 1 September and all remaining foods including fish and composite foods subject to checks from 1 November.

The government confirmed this timetable was “under careful review” amid concerns about the impact on household supplies.

Brexit: Cross-border permits will damage industry, say NI Tourism

Tourism leaders have warned that UK government proposals to require international travellers to apply for a permit to cross the Irish border will damage the industry.

They were announced last year as part of the Nationality and Borders Bill.

More foreign nationals to arrive in UK this year than before Brexit

More foreign nationals will come to the UK this year than before Brexit, an analysis suggests.

The number of non-EU workers, students and family relatives granted visas has already increased by more than 50 per cent to more than 840,000 since the UK voted to leave the EU in 2016.
