    The United States

    22/8/13 Tipperary 8.10

Galileo half-brother to smart Fire Lily. Ready winner of a 7f maiden at the Curragh last July, but not seen since disappointing in the Leopardstown 2000 Guineas Trial in April.

    Winner

Hung right after start, soon straightened and led, pushed along over 2f out, ridden when challenged well over 1f out, stayed on strongly inside final furlong to maintain advantage, eased close home

    unplaced

Took keen hold early, tracked leaders on inner, headway over 4f out, ridden along well over 2f out, driven well over 1f out and no impression (op 9/2 tchd 11/2 in a place, tchd 5/1 in a place)

More needed after latest rise but handy style of racing ideal here. Winner   Made all, ridden and went clear over 1f out, driven inside final furlong, just held on, all out (op 9/1 tchd 10/1 in a place)

    Majestic Moon

    23/8/13 York 4.55

Has improved since forcing tactics adopted, taking 7f handicaps here and at Newmarket last month, and better still when making all at Goodwood last time. Longer trip is a slight worry, but respected.

Soon led, ridden along 3f out, headed 2f out, soon driven and weakened over 1f out (tchd 15/2 in a place)

Excellent third in July Cup last time and obvious player despite giving weight all round. Winner Always prominent, close 2nd halfway, headway going best to dispute 2f out, pushed out to lead over 1f out, stayed on well

    23/8/13 York 3.40

Unbeaten at 2, taking Lowther here and Cheveley Park Stakes. Shaped as if amiss in Summer Stakes last time, though, and more needed even on her best juvenile form.

Best run this year when 1¼ lengths second of 8 to Royal Guinevere at Doncaster last time, and capable of building on that. unplaced Dwelt, soon chasing leaders, upsides over 1f out, no extra last 50yds (op 3/1)

Solid placed efforts in handicaps at Doncaster and Thirsk under this rider the last twice. However, while he travels notably well in his races, he doesn't always deliver when push comes to shove.

Back to winning ways in 1½m Newmarket handicap last month, all out. 3 lb rise probably enough to find him out now.
