    27/6/13 York 1.50
Looked good prospect when winning 7f maiden here in October, and better than bare result in 2 tries this year. Too free to last home over 1½m at Haydock last time, and tried in a hood now.
    unplaced
Led, headed 2f out, soon lost place (tchd 10/1 and 12/1)

16.25 Newmarket Secretinthepark Won above average maiden at Warwick on debut and looked a useful prospect when comfortably landing the odds in nursery at Kempton. Drop in trip unlikely to pose a problen and high on shortlist. Wjnner Held up well in touch, ridden and effort 2f out, chased leader 1f out, stayed on well to lead well inside final furlong, soon in command (op 5/1 tchd 6/1 in a place 18/5/13  2.55 Newmarket Unbeaten in 3 starts to date, and found further improvement to land a 13-runner handicap over C&D 2 weeks ago from Brazen. Raised 7 lb for that, but type to go on progressing for a while yet. No where!   Chased leaders, ridden over 1f out, stayed on same pace inside final furlong (op 7-2)

    27/7/13 Newmaeket 3.55
Unbeaten on first 3 starts, finding further improvement to land 13-runner event on Rowley course in May (6f). Respectable effort over C&D last time (Robot Boy behind), and remains one to note.
    3rd
Fly-jumped as stalls opened, in touch in midfield, ridden and effort to chase leaders over 1f out, stayed on to press winner final 100yds, no extra towards finish (op 14/1)

In Response to Re: Horses to follow 2013 Flat Season : Nabucco 29/6/13 Newmarket 4.05 Well bred and lightly raced. Windsor maiden winner last summer and placed in handicaps both starts this year, beaten only by a progressive sort over C&D 3 weeks ago. Can go one better. Winner   Chased leader, ridden and led well over 1f out, stayed on well inside final furlong, ridden out (op 10/3)

    Nabucco
    30/7/13 Goodwood 1.55

Lightly-raced 4-y-o who has been steadily progressive in 1¼m Newmarket handicaps this term, beating Strictly Silver 1¼ lengths in 11-runner event last time. May have more to come, but draw not ideal.
2nd Dwelt, pushed along and steadily recovered to chase leaders halfway, driven and effort to lead over 1f out, headed and outpaced well inside final furlong, battled on to hold 2nd

    Captain Cat

    30/7/13 Goodwood 4.50

Newmarket maiden win boosted by subsequent form of runner-up Lahaag, and better form when second in minor event at Ascot in October. Draw not kind, but far from exposed, and respected with hood tried.
    unplaced

Took keen hold, held up in touch in midfield, ridden and found little over 1f out, well beaten when hampered just inside final furlong, eased towards finish (tchd 8/1 in a place)

Just a respectable third in Chester Vase, though, and ran to similar level when fifth of 8 in King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot. 3rd Chased leaders, going well but stuck behind horses from over 2f out, switched left and gap finally opened well inside final furlong, ran on well under pressure towards finish, unlucky

Useful and reliable sort who looked unlucky not to win Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket last time. May find a few too quick for him around here back down in trip, however.
    unplaced
Chased leader until lost place and squeezed for room entering final 2f, behind after, weakened over 1f out (tchd 7/1)

In Response to Re: Horses to follow 2013 Flat Season : Toronado 18/6/13 Ascot 3.45 Imposing sort who was unbeaten at 2, and most impressive winner of Craven on return. Failed to meet expectations in 2000 Guineas but well worth another chance. 2nd Steadied start, held up in rear, headway on outer when hampered and pushed left 2f out, rallied over 1f out, edging right but quickened to challenge entering final furlong, sustained duel with winner final furlong, ran on strongly, just held (tchd 9/2)

Impressive winner of Craven on return, and clearly not himself in the Guineas. Got much closer to Dawn Approach at Royal Ascot having met trouble, and worth a chance to reverse form now.
    Winner
Steadied and dropped in after start, held up in last piar, closed smoothly to track leaders 2f out, switched left and effort just over 1f out, strong run under pressure final furlong to lead well inside final furlong, pushed out towards finish (op 5/2)

Seemed to relish faster conditions when taking 7f handicaps at York and Newmarket last month from the front. More needed after latest rise but handy style of racing ideal here.

Made all, ridden and went clear over 1f out, driven inside final furlong, just held on, all out (op 9/1 tchd 10/1 in a place)

Secret Gesture 11/5/13 2.20 Lingfield   Galileo filly out of a half-sister to Arc winner Sagamix. Confirmed debut promise when easily landing odds in Newbury maiden in October.
