Kinda feel like the poker gods are playing some cruel joke on me atm lol. Can't get a decent run going at all. Last night I final a deepy, then normal order is resumed again tonight. When will a hand of mine hold at the crucial stage!!!!

So, the DTD's tonight.....
DTD 1: Never really got going but hung around to the mid stages and got my chips in with what is normally a decent spot. Not tonight though as I ran into kings with my AK for a pot which would have pushed me up the leaderboard. No complaints though, hands played themselves.
waller02078 DTD 2: This one I am annoyed about!! Got off to a good start and was always sitting in the top 10% of the field. Until the hand below......Haven't played much with the oppo and he was fairly new to the table.
1. Should I just fold to the 3 bet? 2. His shove looked so much like an AK/AQ hand that had the missed the flop. Urgh is my call very bad?? Just would not expect a hand as strong as that to overbet shove the flop.....or maybe that was oppos thinking when he shoved?? Thoughts/advice please.

Will probs be having a break for the rest of the week. It's looking like the mtt dream is over although I am tempted to not bother with 4nl if/when I get down to £30 and just go for broke with the mtt's.....very tempted!! Any thoughts? Is this a bad idea??
BR = £36.42
Seriously, any advice on the hand or how I should proceed as far as my BR is concerned would be much appreciated. Cheers
Try using that to build your stack back up. I would have a look at who is playing on the tables, normally i go for a table that has a maximum of one regular on it.
There has been plenty of choice this week, with loads of randoms sitting at the tables.
Think the pre flop call with 66 is marginal. I don't mind a fold as the villain isn't playing a huge stack.
As played, I think we have to fold the flop. Yes, AK is in his range. But so is 1010-AA which crush us. Suppose his flop shove worked a treat as he convinced you his overbet jam can only be A high.
Other 2 hands just standard and unfortunate.
The bankroll issue is tricky. It's possible to spin it up at the 4nl tables but it could be a long process and with only 7 1/2 buy ins (£30) we don't have much margin for error. But equally we could use that £30 over X amount of tournies, do next to nothing wrong in them all and still not see a return.
Got to fold the 66s on the flop mate. Youre beating a stone cold bluff and people are rarely betting twice the pot as a bluff.
RE bankroll - you should ignore any BR advice I give you as Im TERRIBLE at keeping a BR. All I will say is that you should use the £30 for a form of poker you enjoy. I find that once pressure is off and your enjoying poker and not worrying about the money it becomes a whole lot easier. If you enjoy MTTs play MTTs and vice versa if you prefer cash.
Ty for your advice on the 66. Yeah looking back I agree it should be a fold.
Well, I am at the stage where my br has creeped below the £30 mark and it is decision time!!! I would love to play soley mtts but the variance is battering me....hand below sums up how I am running

I am on the receiving end of beats like these time and time again and my br cannot handle it!!
So I am going to try the 4nl tables again, but will still be playing the odd mtt too (just a lot less of them).
Will play the £500 BH and the orfordable tonight alongside the cash tables. I'm not feeling confident at all.........which is half the battle!!

Critical!!!! Plan is to reg for £250BH at 6, Orfordable and the £500BH......gonna gamble on some dyms too. If I go broke then diary is over and I intend to have a considerable break from the game.
Have reg for those tourneys and have 8 quid odd left.....gonna play 2 £3.30 DYMs now. The way I'm feeling about poker atm I wont be particularly bothered if I go broke tonight!
Had fallen down to £8 but have been playing £3 DYMs and thankfully pulled a bit back. Still feel like I could go broke any day. Will be playing the DTD tomorrow and really need to cash in one of them.
Just had a small cash from a £250 BH

When you asked before about what games to play Gazza gave the best answer, he was spot on when he said play the games you enjoy.
It seems you are a MTT player, thats what you enjoy the most and done really well at before.
Might be an idea to redeposit to give yourself a good start, maybe make your account up to £100. And just stick to playing what you like the most / are best at.
The reason i'm saying that is as is, you will not play the games you want to play, you will be restricted by your bankroll and when it gets low you will try and gamble, to get 10 quid up to a decent higher amount. Having a decent amount in your account will help your confidence no end and give you far greater choice.
You can also let me know how to play MTTs along the way! lol

Yeah I should really stick £100 on but:
1. I'm not really in a position to do that as I changed jobs 18mnths ago (basically I'm an apprentice for another 6 mnths........so not on the good money yet and have mouths to feed etc.)
2. I'm not confident that I wouldn't just blow it lol
Tonights update........played the DTD's and had a reasonable night.
DTD 1.
Finished 5 off the money. I had around 16bb and got it in pre with AK<KK. They say play for the win but sometimes I wish I never got that hand and scraped in a min cash as I need it!! haha......nah no complaints!
waller02023 DTD 2.
Lost a big chunk of my stack blind v blind. A10 v A8 on a A77Q8 board ........a bit later my old foe cenachav min raises in the CO and I have AQ in the BB and a 20bb stack. I think "hey it's cena, he aint got much" and shove. He calls with JJ and holds. gg
waller020122 DTD 3.
I make the ft but I'm very short (in fact we are all very short apart from the massive chip leader who I clash with in the very first hand)
Here is the hand........right to go for broke here? I figure oppo has any 2 and I won't be in too bad shape. Still not too sure though. I am the shorty on the table, but not by much.
You are mainly an MTT player, just wondering do you think most decent MTT players are quite tight?
Anytime i play the monday night game there always seems to be a few good players at my table and they are seldome involved in hands. Most seem to be pretty much Tight aggressive.
Do you think that's the best strat for MTTs.
And out of interest, how do you find cash when it is mostly MTT's you have been used to playing?
I've just realised recently that the 2 formats are totally different. I knew they were different, bt i mean significantly different as to what you should be doing and when.
Nice 1 3 x on your money! The start of something, i'm sure:D You are mainly an MTT player, just wondering do you think most decent MTT players are quite tight? There are far far better mtt players on here to ask but I will give my opinion anyway.
Generally I play tight aggressive but the main factor for me is how the table I am on is playing. I Always try to play the opposite style to the majority of the table. If the table is full of loose stations then there is little point in getting involved with marginal hands. If the table is tight then you can widen your range and try to steal a few pots.
Aggressive players are better mtt players imo but it can be difficult to find the right balance between being aggro and spewy.........something I struggle with when I try to change my game, therefore I stick to tight aggressive with the occasional poor call!!!!
The mtts on sky are so soft that you can regularly cash by playing solid abc poker. However if you want to consistently make final tables or be successful against tougher fields on a regular basis then you need to have a more aggro style (something I haven't got)...........all IMO............could be a load of bull!!!
If you want serious mtt advice then ask the likes of mattbates, tommyd, wacko90 etc...........they crush, I don't.
As for cash, yeah totally different beast. Have yet to figure it out lol
Nice cash in the DTD - Keep it going I say it all the time but BRM is the key and you seem to have that under control. (small steps and all that) GL m8 Posted by MP33
I have brm under control as much as I can with such a measly roll. Having 10-20BI for mtts is bad but I have no choice really.
Would like there to be more £1 freezeouts on sky.....maybe one day!
Sorry about that one mate. Come and see me at the bar at the DTD and I may just buy you a pint . Loving the diary and gl at the tables Posted by cenachav
You will have to buy me a pint in Newcastle instead if you are going. I'm not going to Notts anymore as I can't make it due to family commitments......kids eh!!
I enjoyed our tables last night......I'll get you next time........NEXT TIME!!!!!
Sigh. Sitting 8/13 in the 7.15 deepy, 11 cash. Had been hanging on for ages but could start to feel the momentum building.....then I get this hand.
I was sure whether to min raise or just shove. If I had min raised the action would have prob been a shove and a call before it gets back round to me and I can maybe find the fold. Just being results orientated I guess. Was I right to shove??? Annoyingly the bubble burst the very next hand!
