Busted the other deepy 4 off the money!!! 2 killer hands AK<A9 then KQ<KJ.....how do I lose them both :(

The standard in that £1 deepy was nothing short of shocking......limp limp limp and the blinds were huge. I picked my spot and got my chips in as a big fav but it wasn't to be.

This hand below cheered me up though..........like I said shocking! This hand was just after the KQ<KJ hand. I obv meant to shove but misclicked........how on this earth can they fold for 12 chips lol

Ty for the gl wishes.......they didn't work lol

On the receiving end of some nasty ones tonight but I would rather be getting my chips in the middle as a big fav because at least I am making the correct plays and hopefully my luck should change.

Played 6 mtts tonight (one freeroll) and cashed in 2...but they were only min cashes. I can't hold in the late stages atm.

Finshed 5 off the money in the £1.10 deepy. Got my chips in with JJ and lost to A2....tbf though I only had 5bb after losing a badly played hand a couple of orbits before. Can't complain.

Small cash in the £500 freeroll - waller02861082£2.16
It's the £500 BH that hurt me the most tonight. Played well as we approached the cash, made one mistake when I lost with top pair v trips (blind v blind). Creeped into the money only to lose AA<K2 :( ouch!
    waller02030£2.03 + £2.86 Head Prizes3
I played another £3 DYM as well tonight. Got down to the last 4, took a hit and couldn't recover. Hand is below, I'm pretty sure this is the correct play but I have thought that before only to be told I was wrong by the DYM specialists. Correct here???

Anyway, a frustrating night tonight. Will have to try some more DYMs tomorrow, £3 is risky but like I said, the rake is lower.

I am baffled, did you start with about £10 in May, and now have £17?

The clue is in the title. I'm just playing mtts atm and I'm sure you realise they are a high variance game. What is it that baffles you?

I think he is doing this. I ain't worried though, I play mtts because I enjoy them. If somebody wants to have a dig at me then that's fine......I'm a big boy

that is a 70% increase it is actually extremely good playing MTT's and considering variance you shouldn't have anything really. Hopefully his remark was not intended that way.

I deposited 50 lol. It is high risk playing mtts with such a low br, it will either be bink or bust (and soon). I just don't really enjoy any other format of the game, plus I used to be a winning player........many moons ago!!!

Lol oh well it can go either way, all you need is one! Stay away from the BH's there is no value when you are trying to grind a roll. Just sat sat sat and play the £5.50 £100+ gtd's or £3.30 whatever you feel is better for you. Even the deepstacks lack value at the moment as they are pretty good players in them and they carry no guarantees

    Just to be difficult
who cares if there are no guarantees
You are not looking for overlay anyway
    also with bounty hunters
    you do get volatile play
but other very good players regard them as lower variance
because a few heads pays Ok even if you don't cash

Yeah I play the BH's because of the lower variance. I also play the odd sat even though I shouldn't

I usually play the following each night:

    £250 BH (£2.30) 6pm
    £100 DS (£2.20) 7.15pm
    £100 DS (£1.10) 7.45pm
    £500 BH (£2.30) 8pm

Plus all the freerolls, the odd dym and sat. So as you can see, a bad night hurts!!

    BUT.....I enjoy playing them :)

I am capable of winning, have won, any of these mtt's. The problem is that my measly roll is struggling to handle the variance involved. I tried cash, didn't enjoy it (plus I was poor) and dyms bore me to sleep!!!!

    Quick update as I'm tired.

Played the usual mtts without success apart from a couple of heads. I got very unlucky in the mid stages of the £500 BH after a 20bb stack open shoved with AQ......I'm sitting there with kings and re-shove, happy days until he rivers the straight and I'm left with a 20bb stack myself instead of a top 5 stack with 60 left :( Needless to say there was no comeback as I lost a couple of flips to bust in 50 summat place.

    Played a few dyms....W3 L2

I even played cash for a bit and came away a quid up.

Br has taken another hit though.....again. Think I will cut down the amount of mtts I play and up the dyms and maybe even cash. No poker tomorrow as I'm going to the battle cruiser for a mate's birthday.

    BR = £13.51

    Ok.

Nope none along the way just no wins due to a lack of poker ability.

Finally!!!!!!!! Something happy to post lol!!!

I played my usual mtts, the 2 deepys and the £250 £500 BH's alongside some £3 dyms. So, how did things go? Well I got off to a bad start, busting in the first level of the BH's to coolers (set over set and top 2 v set) and I never got going in the 7.15 deepy. But...............

I won the 7.45 deepy. My first win in months!!

    waller025800001£32.42
Even the dyms went quite well! I did lose £3 earlier on in an all in sat for the roller (I had to have one go) but not too bothered about it now.

    BR = £46.64

So almost back to starting br after falling to a critically low level. Still not sure if I have the roll to handle the variance involved in mtts but I'm gonna keep trying. Hopefully the dyms on the side will help (if I can keep up with my recent improvement in that format)

Missssssed a whole bunch of this diary as ive been away on holiday/ in nottingham.

Im pleased youve gone down the MTT route tbh.  Yes its high variance.  Yes its not really working with a BR.  But its what youre best at and most importantly its what you enjoy - and if you are playing poker and not enjoying it why bother?  Im exactly the same.

Nice bink mate.  Stick to the small tournaments... they are decent.  Are you playing any of the £2.20 or £3.30 or £1.10 turbos/rebuys with like a £30 or £50 gtd in the afternoon?  They only get about 12 players running usually and are very good mini tournaments to help a BR.

    Very nice going Waller!

This is the tournie i went out of yesterday in 12th place just after the bubble burst. Is my fave one of the deepstacks, probably cause its only a pound to enter lol

Good to see your back up to almost ur starting stack.

Nice feeling getting 1st, and the start of a bit of run good for sure.
