Yeah it's exactly as @HENDRIK62 describes. We have the Americans to thank for it. It's a really big deal for the mothers and daughters while the dads are left to foot the bill if they want a quiet life. I wanted to hire a dress rather than fork out to buy one but that didn't go down very well.

Agree with that 100%. One of my daughter's friends Mum is a single mother with little spare cash and she literally skint herself for weeks just so her daughter could have a nice dress.

Worst night of the challenge by a country mile. Don't even think I played that bad, there were mistakes in a few games of course but mostly I was getting spanked by the boards. Straights into sets that improved to houses, so many sets, I hit flops got outdrawn, missed draws etc.
With it being a Friday I kept on playing thinking the tide would turn and it didn't. Just bust the last game JJ<A5 and got the message.
Ouch. Another night like this and I'm dropping 11s and going back to the drawing board.
Unlucky Waller but try not to let it knock your confidence too much. I'm sure if someone could travel back to day one of this challenge and tell you the roll would be just shy of £400 by day 19, you'd have been more than happy.
There is no doubt in my mind you're a winning player in these games so don't do anything too drastic with your approach, beyond exercising some half-reasonable bankroll management of course .

Yeah I guess it's just really frustrating to have a night like last night. In hindsight I probably should have called it a night sooner but I honestly thought the run bad would end and I could save the session with a late score. Wasn't to be.
Bit of a kick in the teeth really as I have been putting a lot of time in away from the tables and thought that I might finally be starting to improve, now I'm not so sure. The challenge has become a proper challenge now anyway and I'm still looking forward to playing later, I've always been a sucker for punishment!

I know you weren't too interested in adhering to anything close to strict BRM for this challenge (quite the opposite ) but just looking at that session - 20 games for an outlay of £150 seems huge to me and if I'm being completely honest with you I think it's excessive. I would like to see you trim the volume and the outlay going forward to stabilise, rebuild and then take on that kind of session when you are closer to £1k.

Ya way too many 11s, including turbo 11s. Drop them until you're at £500 again (which you will be) as a minimum. Best player in the world would go busto a fair % of the time playing that sched off that roll. Nature of the game, can't win every session!

Part of the challenge was having a loose approach to BRM but I think you are right. Last night hurt, a lot. It was a huge dent to both the bankroll and more importantly the confidence. It stung far more than I anticipated it would. I think it would be wise to drop the 11s for now, although I may still play the 9:30. If the roll drops below 300 then I won't even consider any 11s as per the challenge. Also I think I should add some 2.20 BHs back into the schedule and get the ABI down to a more reasonable level.

I went a bit wild last night, I hadn't played all week as I was too busy so when I finally got chance to play last night I went a bit ott!
The 18:00 'Semi' is still good value though IMO and absolutely worth a shot each night. The idea behind having the £2.20 deeps and the £1 rebuy in there is that they are guaranteed profit makers which will offset the games which we might have a more marginal edge in (the 'Semi', the £7.70, the £11's) so we should be effectively freerolling the slightly larger buy-ins in our schedule by virtue of winning in the smaller stuff and that means we will be effectively freerolling the 'Main' when we get there via the 'Semi'. Spin that entry into an FT and you're looking at at least a couple of hundred quid clear profit each time.
I took the advice on board, followed the schedule that was suggested and had a "close but no cigar" evening. I'll certainly take a small winning session but it's a little frustrating not to have had a half decent score after deep runs in 3 tournaments. I busted just before the decent pay jumps, but to be honest I never looked like winning apart from the 2.20 deepy where I lost QQ<KJ for a big stack with 10 left.
Another horrid session would have seriously piled the pressure on so I can't really complain.
The afternoon session was a good one and I have recovered a lot of the losses from Friday night's shocker.
Only complaint was losing AK<AQ in the 14:30 BH for a pot that would have put me in 2nd place with 9 remaining. The hand played itself though and it's always better to lose like that rather than from making an error. I did manage to make the final table of 2 tournaments, including winning the 16:15 deepstack, so all in all I'm certainly in a lot better place than I was the other night.
