This thread reminds me of the ITW and ask me anything threads on twoplustwo back in the day.

    Absolutely.

As Tikay will tell you, I am an incredibly dull person.

I rely on other people providing interesting questions to make it a worthwhile read. Consequently, happy to answer almost anything on this thread for the next 10 days...
    Cool!

Whats your take on Jordan Peterson and Sonia Poulton?

Thoughts on the gaffe by Alex Salmond's barrister/ possible consequences?

    Thanks.

Interesting question. Technically, incidentally, he is an Advocate (Scots version of Barrister).

The gaffe itself? Dumb. This wasn't a slip of the tongue amongst friends. This was on a public train, to various randoms, and during the trial. And slagging off various witnesses, as well as his client. Again, in public.

He is in a heap of trouble. Confidentiality is vital in the legal profession-probably second only to bankers.

The only thing that might save him is the defence he used in the trial. He (with Mr Salmond's consent) set a picture where Mr Salmond was portrayed as a rather nasty, sad little man. Whose chat up lines were stuck in the 1970s. But was not a criminal. Which the jury accepted.

He has already referred himself to the Regulator, and stood down from his role as head of the Advocates body. Think it is 50/50 whether he will be allowed to continue as an Advocate.

Followed with interest. I railed a UKOPS last night, the latter stages and the difference between run of the mill players (me) and the solid regs is this - They don’t make mistakes, I mean non. I doubt I’ll ever be that competent, but it really is staggering to watch.

    Good luck Phil.

Now that should liven up the thread.

Sonia Poulton? I'd not heard of her before. she seems to specialise in setting up, in journalistic terms, open goals. And missing. Never thought I'd read articles where I had sympathy for the McCanns, or David Icke.

Jordan Peterson. Well aware of him. But then my youngest is transgender. And there is a special place in He ll for anyone that intolerant of other people's life choices. I have stepped in better than him.

i have no idea what a "pound double" is.

I tried to look it up on the internet. Got a lot of videos relating to "double pound". I'm guessing that is not the same thing...

Two, polarizing outspoken figures. One to whet the appetite of any thread ;)

I always have music on while playing.

It helps me vary my game, as the type of music lends itself to differing styles of play. Important to vary your play, so that you are playing differently to how perceived.

1st 3 artists tonight are Madness, Neil Diamond and Five Finger Death Punch. So I think variety being achieved there :)

    Day 3 Recap.

Started badly. In fact, intended to give up for the night if i didn't win a seat to the Main, but won a key flip to get through.

    Played 4 again-Events 13, 15, 16 & 17. Swingy day.

Event 13. Never got going. Never troubled the scorers.

Event 15 (Main). Kept building a stack, and then losing it. Key hands. Lost with K10 on a QJ9 rainbow board. The K on the turn meant the A10 was in heaven. Built stack back up. Then my KK walked into @Alvez11 AA. GG me.

Event 16. The Mini was crazy. Guy on my right was shoving nearly every hand. His 80BB shove pre with 4 3 off got there v my JJ, then his 7 5 beat my A 9. He then had a huge stack. But I'm willing to bet he didn't cash....

Event 17. Ran quite well. Was 3/9 when my exit happened. Kind of summed up my day. I have AKs in the Big Blind. Small Blind (the Chip Leader) raises, it all goes in. He has QQ. Flop x J Q (boo). Turn 10 (yes!). River J. Seen kinder run-outs, but it was a flip at the end of the day. Admittedly for about 75% of ALL the chips.

Lost about what I won yesterday. But a fun day.
