New BR challenge - Back on track

Can very much relate to the emotional rollercoaster of your BR swings. I just about went busto in the last few days but am hopefully beginning to turn it around now. It can take a **** of a lot out of you the constant beats but you have to rise above it because making bad plays just compounds your problems. Constant analysis of your hands is a great way to ensure you are making +EV moves but make sure you take on board what the people on here are saying! It is frustrating for them to give you their time only for the same mistakes to be made. If you post up more HU SnG hands I will endeavour to give you my opinion - although far from expert I've certainly been around the block in terms of matches played. Best of luck on your challenge, can tell you really want this. All I would say is be sure you're still enjoying poker and are entirely comfortable with the losses caused by variance.

Another small session. Was a horrid one though, but desite this 6 tabling really is starting to prove worthwhile as i got stacked countless times, yet somehow only finnished £2 down. Played this one really badly tbh. Warning lights should have hit on the turn. Maybe even folding the flop with the action was possible. Still dunno what the other guy was doing, his re-raise put me off raising with just KQ and i think if i do raise then maybe i take it down on the flop. Turn i just wasnt playing attention.

The reason for the check call on flop, is im beating that guys range, likley in a flip situation. Once the other guy raises i think i have to fold, im a vunrable overpair against 4 overcards. But the play likey suggested a set.

TT v 77 hand .... how good do u run!!

The AK hand is confusing me, I'm not really sure because I haven't played that much nl4.....

But I guess we wanna get it in pre 100xbb deep?

But 150xbb deep....I'm not so sure. So I dunno if I like u flatting the 4bet or not. I think folding, shoving, or flatting could be justified...

Once u flat and flop the nuts though I don't like the size of ur lead. Yeh the plan is to bet strong for value but when the guy has 4bet pre you can be sure that 1 - He's gonna cbet, and 2, he only has 1 hand in his range which has 2 hearts in it, and that's AKhh.

If I were to lead it would be smaller....maybe 1.80 or something, but personally prefer to c/r all in.

Leading strong like u did can't be a mistake though, so just ul.

i know you are gonna post a hand soon, and its a real killer, KK getting rivered flush when allin, villaain had 109clubs, youplayed it as well as you could but he had been doin that for a while before you sat down. very unlucky

ty for the pre update. Took a break hand kind of annoyed me a lil so annoyed over 6 tables isnt a good idea. Will be back for more once ive chilled will have that hand posted in the next update but as you said i felt i played it right. Just unlucky to get a fish who was willing to pay £2.55 on the flop. lol.

Full example of how this level rolls. Seriously. Only shove over the other guy purley cause he was 3 and 4 bet shoving light. Was in great shape. Or till the first card came out.

Kind of losing the will to put up with this in honesty. Ive lost about £3 just raising, there was on hand see if i can find it ill post it here. 10x it pre and still get 3 callers. Great. IF I COULD HIT A FLOP ONCE IN A BLUE MOON.

In brutal honesty ive had enough. Im playing a tight range, raising huge with it and yet im still losing. Kind of is getting annoying. Ive tried taking the advice on board, and im still losing money. Ive tried playing my natural game, lost even more money in fairness. So ive decided just to pack it in.

To be brutally honest thats not really running that bad, kings twice held up and other time they will hit their flush occasionally :P

Don you know you can beat this level you just need to stop having a negative mindset and always saying about how bad you run but whenever i see you play its quite the reverse.

Anyway get your grind on and win some monies, as you say you dont also run better

Tell me after that KK rivered flush hand, you reloaded and carried on playing right?

Villan in that hand (Well im pretty sure its him but has had to change his name slightly), does stuff like this alllllll the time, its so easy to get your money back with people that loose. If you are standing up after Beats like that you are missing out on value mate.

I know you dont want to play tilted, but you shoulda shut down some other tables and kept that one open.......punched a pillow......screamed at the cat anything but stop getting involved with him with hands like that.

Not only can your tilt lose you your money by making you play silly hands, but it can also lose you money if you get scared of tilt/your subsecuent actions and stand up when people like that are at the table.....control it Donald!!!

cheers mate. May start my own little thread as obviously my game is different to all yours, and although i need to adapt to dyms specifically i think my natural aggression may help in them.

Total  - Played 6 cashed 4

Was a decent run there. Loaded 6 up at once and the results where above. The 2nd 1.15 one i got unlucky. It was a tale of who got the shove and everyone else folded. Shorty kept getting theirs through which left me shorty with 2100 @150/300 and i shoved Q9s into AK. The £3.30 on i failed to cash in 6 left at 100/200 before any real action ever even took place. This resulted in everyone being shortish. Shoved KK into KK. Split pot wehn realy could have done with the win. then i shoved AT which got snapped off by KJ. KKx flop ended much hope. 2BB and BB next hand meant i had to go with any two cards. Worst part was i was crushed when the SB set me in and i went with QJ they had AQ.

No complaints. Didnt feel feel comfortable playing dyms in honesty. Will try again however

Total Balance: £41.58

Back over £40 again which will help, however really need to start getting a move on. Might give cash another go but right now unlikley. I think my game just isnt suited to NL4. long term i think i can win there but i need to get a roll behind me first. May do some mtts later. not sure.

You say that but Shanx is quite aggro sometimes its all about controlled aggression, i recommend anyone who plays DYM read that thread before playimg them as its excellent for all levels. I used to suck at DYM but now i am more aware of the dynamics and some nitty folds you have to do.

You may be giving an example donald but i think you seem to paint a bigger picture of how bad you run and i doubt im the only one who thinks this, sucks when variance bites your behind but still keep posting hands if it helps but im sure you know what you need to be doing just dont kid yourself its all because you run bad

Others are better qualified than me to suggest poker help. Just wanted to say I'm guessing it's something that goes in cycles?  When I started playing I found, strangely, that I seemed to get 2/3 good hands in a row and then 10/12 hands of rubbish and then 2/3 good and repeat.  It seems to be still the same!!

I never once said that. Ive posted every hand recently that ive had above £1. Look at the TT hand earlier and AQ hand yesterday i've had a share of run good. Ive had a share of run bad. It happens. Whats peeving me off just now is just playing such a tight range thats not my natural game and im still losing. Ive adapted to cope with the level and still getting no where.

I never once blamed it all on run bad. Yeah im getting unlucky in spots but then maybe im not always playing them right hense posting them.
