wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii - 2003 pts after a final 2 hour session and  cpl of quid profit BR - £150   1450 pts BR   £213.52   2003 pts   - Would have been £215 if I hadn,t played the TOT, but its been a good week Regarding the above posts I,m not sure I could manage 4k in one month purely on NL4. I might try it another month but I,ll be back to the DYM,s and some satelites in September as well as some more NL4 as I,ve picked up a few notes on which players to target and who to avoid Its just working out which games are more profitable, with the least risk. I,ll also probably play a bit of NL10 as its a totally different game and not so robotic Might have 1 more session tonight but had to make sure I got the points before midnight     GL with it Don in September

    +1

Exactly. I guess if you're happy making £100 a month then you could do it, but I'm deffo wanting to move up the levels or if not, definitely increase the number of tables to increase your profit.

In Response to Re: taking on NL4 diary :   I think my brain would have melted a long time before than lol. For the record I made 3268 bb's (including bonus's) over about 20k hands in two months 4 tabling MAX averaging like 340 hands a day so this '60 hours a week, 4k points' is not needed. However this requires playing the way I play if you play looser/badder it might it might take longer but that shouldn't matter either as long as your winning.

Why didn't you just move up once you'd built up say I don't know 40 BI's at NL4, continueing at NL4 past £160 is crazybad.

I gueess your all right. I was thinking of having a break for a day or 2 then going back to playing DYM,s + STT,s using SS  to target the softer games , which I normally do over 3 or 4 sites, but will put some money aside to have  bash at NL10 , although it will be hard to stay of the NL4 now if i spot fish appearing on the tables

    Day 9

Had another session today but no matter what i done it didnt work. Down a little but minimised the losses. Infact in two hours i won 1 hand post flop, and only had the worst hand on 0 occassions, so says something for how i played.

    Closing BR: £64.25

    Day Nine - Update

Had a few beers and games of fifa and was bored. so decided to load up again. Now i know playing under the inflence seriously kills winnings so i made a munch and a cuppa and got on with it. 2 major highlights one, getting into a 300BB pot and winning with my flopped set. Lovley start, then folding AK pre flop (see clinic)/.

Anyways on the whole this was my best session for a few days, so been a welcomed booster to confidence.

    Closing Bankroll: £74.65

Tbh i just want to get on with it now and get past this annoying trivial level. consentration in starting to get better along with motovation, even under losing sessions im starting to feel better all round. This session Tbh i couldnt do much wrong, in an 18 hand time period i had AA x2, KK x3, QQ x1, 99 x1 and 55 x1. Winning with them all bar 99 which i folded on the flop. However i did make mistakes on my other table witch did minimise my profit, there was one clear folding spot with AQ on A9T flop when my opponent clearly had me beat and i stacked. However im noticing these mistakes better now.

it ain't trivial if you can't beat it.  and money is money no matter what stakes you win it at.

great point scotty although i think that wasnt quite my point. i want to beat the level, its taken me far far too long tbh. yourself and Dohhhh tbh have been giving me the right advice for well over a year now and its just taken way to long to sink in.

Fwiw, id go back and tell 20 yr old me to listen lol.

It's funny cus once you get to around £160-170 your confidence will be SO much higher as you know you can always sink back to NL4 if you run bad but also continue to try at NL8, where you are now is the toughest as you can't go any lower but it's also the easiest game to beat on Sky. ;)

Going well so far keep it up !

    Indeed Dude.

One thing alot of people seem to forget or not think about is that ALOT (not all) of players at the higher levels have started out at low levels and mastered playing ABC poker. Yeah at the higher levels you gotta mix it up a bit, balancing your ranges and all that jive but every single person playing at that level will know how to play ABC poker and no matter how many moves your making and how funky you're getting, you've gotta know how to play good solid poker.

People seem to put 4NL-10NL down and rubbish it, saying it's alot of skills that you'll never use again once you get past these levels but I think that's a load of rubbish, everyone needs to know how to play solid ABC poker and where better to learn it and learn the discipline required than a place where it's cheap to do and it's a MUST to do if you wanna win.

Yep totally agree with this statement. The standard is mostly very poor. I had'nt ever player any form of poker until christmas last year and started to study it through books and 865 and also the good people on this very forum. If you start messing about looking for bluffing spots and trying to read too much and think too much about how your opponent is reacting to how yu have played so far your in trouble at NL4. Play nice tight solid ABC stuff and your in.

I think, and i might be wrong Don, that this is where you struggled with this level of cash. You are a good tournament player and you tried to analyze other peoples bet sizing and plays and it totally flumoxed you. This level is poor and you obviously know your way around a poker table. That could have been your problem. Once you have dumbed it down a bit your flying and you should be.

No looking back now. Keep it going.

yea i think your right. Im comfortable folding AK/JJ etc pre in some cases even QQ with the right reads. However at NL4 i crush that range so what becomes a instant fold in my mind is now an instant call. There was one time i said good bye to NL4 and did play higher cash and i did find that easier. Infact wierdly ive always played better against players who're actually better than me.

Ofc this could be variance talking and i ran good against the better players. However i think when i sit down on a table and Dohhh is to my right and TommyD to my left (examples) i know i can come and play "proper" poker with them. The kind of stuff thats been well drilled into my head for such a long time. Yes i may get out played. But i also may dish a little  back.

Again sorry Donny but I have to laugh my head off at this, why would you want to play 'good' players where you have to think about bluffing, 3betting light, being 3bet light, being floated, being double barreled. It's just utter madness.

For me playing awful players is heaven and I would love to have 5 at every table I play at NL10 right now but sadly there's quite a few silly REGS that spoil the fun, god knows what it's gonna be like if I ever progress to NL20.

For you I would enjoy NL4/8 while you can. ;)

This was about 10 mins from the end of session anuways but on this table i never got going at all. No matter how hard i tried or what hand i got.

However the other table really supported well and did make me some decent profits.

    Closing Balance: £81.96

This session could have been far more profitable i was two tabling and only had one table that went well. The other just nothing went right. I lost 2 seperate 50BB pots right before the end of session aswell. However both pots as shown above where standard, therefore i think theres a large number of positives to be taken.
