In Response to Re: taking on NL4 (and beyond) diary : This ^^^^^^^^ Sounds a bit more like it. Doesnt hurt as much then. I lost £15 out of a roll of £260 yesterday with people outdrawing me. I smiled at the first one, shook my head at the 2nd one and the cushion on the settee next to me got mullered after the 3rd one. Knew i was getting pee'd off with it so stood up and left it. It wasnt my night. My advice to your current situation (i have been in similar) is to drop to NL4, find 2 or 3 tables with plenty of recreational players and tighten right up until you have a hand you KNOW is good ang get it in. Even a couple of half decent sessions should get you back on track. Good luck mate!

how many tables do you play comfortably because i can play up to 6 but feel i play my best when im only playin 2-3 so think you should play whatever you think is best at 4nl and grind it up 2 160 again you can do it all the best m8

I hope you regret posting this Don lol. No offence but come on, you know it's all about percentages and you know that KK is MILES ahead of A3, you know you want him to make this call because this is exactly how you make your money.

    Turned £40 into £105 in 9 weeks.

Apparently he's "not a winning player" and "can't make money @ cash"

Things that make ya go hmmmmmmmmmmmm .............

Came third in the 3pm GTD thing again. for £42

However very annoyed at this result. 3 people left im 2:1 chip leader. double a guy up BvB then top pair v top pair BvB im outkicked. Shove AT called by 44. flop ATx river 4. FML.

    Anyways still its profit.

    Balance: £140.79

I haven't been following this for a while but surely you should have a different BR for when you're playing MTTs?

Surely if you keep winning the odd £40 here and there on MTTs and you're BR is staying about the same or even if there's slight increases/decreases, how are you ever gonna know if you're a winning player at cash?

I do use the same BR for all my pokering, but I keep every single bit of poker I play on an Excel spreadsheet, with different tabs for MTTs/Cash etc so I can see at a glance instantly my profit/loss for all formats of the game and can see any good runs/bad runs, cos I literally have a seperate line on the spreadsheet for every single MTT/DYM I buy into and a different line for every cash session which details numbers of hours played, number of tables, number of hands/hour, the blinds,  etc so from that it automatically works out the cumulative total of the number of hands I've played, what my win rate is in terms of BB/hour and so on, very useful.

I'll happily PM it to anyone if they want a copy.

Hi Don. I have been following your diary with great interest, and to my way of thinking you have done pretty darn good. Certainly we fishes of the nl4 level hope that the variance turns once again in your favour, we definately don`t want you on our tables--you`re too good! Run like James mate.

good to see it  going well Don

TBH since i stopped giving myself challenges on here ive hardly played ( played 1 x 6 max £5 STT and only coz i noticed it was FL which is pretty rare on here nowadays ) and not put any work in at all on my game.

It will help you by keeping the thread going -  Will set myself a new target this week

QQ - Canny fold preflop EVER at NL4 imo.

66 - I probz fold flop as I'm a giant nit but can see why you call as hard to hit that flop. Turn is the bingo card.

A10 - pre good, flop cbet good, check/minraise here is usually something that beats your hand, but again that's cus I is tight, fwiw if I have AK it's toally different as I don't like folding TPTK.

    AK - Nh.

Most of it's variance, the last one for me would be a proper killer, but there is a dash of tilt which I can sympophise with to some extent but if you play within a decent BR (which you have for NL4) you should never experiance it.

    my only tweet this week.

"**** Off variance - that is all"

I know its going to change. I just cant cope with it at all. I just keep piling pressure on myself to win. Maybe a few days of FM might distract me a lil.

Yh you just have to see it like a roller coaster, your going down hill right now but eventually you have to start rising again and making profit, well unless it's a Final Destination roller coaster but don't think about that.
