Yh you just have to see it like a roller coaster, your going down hill right now but eventually you have to start rising again and making profit, well unless it's a Final Destination roller coaster but don't think about that. Posted by Dudeskin8
it seems that way atm. hopefully itll turn sooner rather than later
i think the 66 hand and the A10 hand you could have easily got away from and its cost you, the qq hand was just unlucky, your never folding here with him having only x50BB's, and the AK hand is sickening but it happens man! Keep going, don't let it get you down!
guys, not a bad beat story. but clearly im starting to stuggle mentally at the moment. which is starting to effect my game so ive decided to take this week off.
ty for all your continued support.
P.S. was going to play the flops events but ive decided to pull out of that after this exit 10 mins into day one

You sir are very very right re the 66 AT hands. The beats do get you down thou I can assure you and the more you suffer the more likely you get to the point where you think he can't have it again, but they usually do. Bad beats lead to bad play this I do know.
Yeah exactly as Rancid said. That's how I try to think of bad beats these days, I think well that was against the way it should of went so it stands to reason that sometime in the future (probably the near future if you play a fair amount) things will go the way they should AND a bit more in your favour to balance out.

In Response to Re: taking on NL4 (and beyond) diary : the cards dont have memories. Posted by The_Don90
Of course the cards dont have memories but take flipping a coin for instance. It's 50/50 chance of what's gonna come up.... sure you could do it and be really lucky/unlucky and get 10 heads in a row (you losing 10 lots of QQ v AK) but if you flip it enough it will eventually get to 50/50 on results so... and likewise your QQ v AK hands will eventually balance out at 50/50 (assuming the odds were actually 50% each which I know they're not) so if you've lost 10 in a row, then there will come a time when you'll win 10 in a row, or the equivelant. The point is, eventually it'll balance out, so everytime you lose a flip, it's almost like you're owed a win next time (it might not come the very next time but it WILL come)
the luck and bad luck is shared equally between all players. There are not lucky and unlucky players. The cards do not have memories but would you rarther run good in a £10 re buy or £500 freezout Your just lucky if you run good in the £500, really unlucky if you run good in the £10 and bust 1st level of the £500. Due to varaince you can't choose when bad luck decends on you.
Don, can't wait till you come back and post ) Missing you already !!
Exactly, so stick to one format, one level and you're variance will all work out even Posted by Lambert180
For the record im spending this week, trying to improve my love life. That cant get any worse so i have nothing to lose lol.
Also the cards dont have memories line comes from someone whos supported me loads over the last while so i guess i have to credit to him. Dohhh. Top bloke.
Yeah crack on Don, I went through a similar situation to you in my DYM challenge. About a week ago I had made £100 profit during my challenge, I then had 2 horrible sessions on them and dropped down to £50 profit. I was gutted cos I was looking at it from the point of view that my BR had went down by £50 in 2 days, but I took some time to think about it and I'm still £50 up from the start.
Admittedly £50 in about 4 weeks isn't gonna mean I can quit my job anytime soon lol and likewise with your current cash profit, but winning is winning and that's exactly what you've been doing. And let's face it, we're far from the best players in the world and we're still learning all the time, so if we're winning consistently now, the only way is up and to win even more and at a faster rate.

i went to casino tonight for a game with the old man. I went out of tourny he was still in with 20 bigs. since he was short i decided to put £30 onto a 50p/50p cash game. Expecting to play for about 20-30 mins then head home. 20 mins in dad approches me and says hes trebled up, great i have also. So im on around £130 And lost a 600BB (£300) pot 3 way (one guy folded before river) with only one card in the deck to dodge. Majorly sick,
Anyways this just makes me more determinded. I handled it suprisingly well too. onwards and upwards, it can only get better.
A welcomed return tbh, i thank everyone for their support over the last couple of weeks my head was a mess tbh. I really needed a good session there and i know i only played for 1 hour but slowly back into it. 2 buy ins up is more than satisfactory and i know i lost a few daft pots with various bits of rust involved but managed to keep them small or v shortys.
glad your back in the seat again mate. had a great weekend myself. off work ill thurs and friday so had 4 days , 8 sessions. messed around between levels bgetting used to having 2 monitors and slowly building up amount of tables i can play. had 5 winning sessions outta 7. then shut down 6 tables and jumped up to nl30 on the other 2. doubled up on 1 table and turned 30 quid into 150 on the other. so 2nite im going for 2x nl100 and blow the lot lol
Nice work mate always nice to start in postive figures, still think that longterm you have to be ready for another period where you could lose say 4-5 BI's in a row and that it could happen in your next session and if it happens you need to be able to brush it aside without any tilt setting in.
Good luck with it though, potentially big month for you if you run well.
