If I wasn't so exhausted that graph would keep me awake tonight.
Grinding on and on and on and on as I got tireder and tireder, playing more and more abc, but the tables got softer and softer, and the graph went further and further downwards.
I'll stop typing typing words twice now.

Whilst out on the morning ramble I entertained myself with some mental arithmatic.
If a player can play 8 tables of nl10 (in dollars) and win @ 10xbb/100 for 40 hours a week.
They would make around £11,000 per year, pre rakeback.
If the same chap (or indeed anyone else) played the same volume of 50nl ($) and won at solid winrate of 3xbb/100, they'd only make 50% more profit pre rakeback.
6 hours short of the time investment required to make £11k a year today.
Irritating, fidgety little session tonight.
I lost a couple of all ins that I would expect to win, but didn't feel bothered by them at the time. Then I just seemed to start tilting 30 mins later.
Not a session that will live long in the memory, best written off and forgotten about asap.
I did add a little 6max turbo $5 MTT on the side.
I was 12th/60 from 340 starters with 40 paid and $350 for first.
And managed to massively punt it off well before the money.
I think the enorma-session last night has mashed my brain a little. I can't even blame tiredness.
So profit on the day of £2.31.
I'll take it.
Roll £1509.31.
Early night tonight then a long walk tomorrow morning. Maybe think about poker again tomorrow evening.

Got to read 100 pages of ELEVEN before it has to go back on Friday Geldmeister, then I'll ask the lovely librarian lady if she has your reccommendation.
4.5 mile morning walk was followed by a 4.5 hour afternoon 'nap'.
What's the line for when a nap becomes something more than a nap?
Is there a word for a kip that's between a nap and a full on sleep?
There should be.
Slap maybe.
Monday 25th
No hands played.
No exercise done.
The full day spent aching.
And moaning about aching.
Today
3.2 miles walked this morning.
I've set a really stiff volume goal for myself.
I need to play another 21,674 hands to reach 100,000 hands @ 10nl on partypoker.
I'm going to aim to do this before the end of January (or at least before bedtime on Sunday night, which may need to become Monday Morning!).
@ a modest 500 hands an hour it'll take me 43 hours, which is over 7 hours a day for 6 days in a row.
It's a massive task for me, and will rely on health consistancy over a 6 day period rather than the 1/2 day challenges I've previously set, but it's another step forward and a challenge I feel is worth the time and effort.
And hopefully I will make a few Bob out of it too.

At Sunday league this weekend I came accross probably the oldest ref (or at least the oldest looking ref) I've ever seen.
They say to be good at something you have to have a genuine love and passion for what it is that you're doing.
There's no doubt this chap has plenty of that.
What a legend.
I would've got a better picture, but, maybe unsurprisingly given he looks about 116 years old, he didn't venture outside of the centre circle very often.

Grind (justifiable use of the word this time, in my opinion :P) On...........
As beginnings to new challenges go, this one couldn't have gone much worse.
I played really really bad.
I ran pretty bad.
And to compound the negative emotions caused by the above, my internet decided to be very temporamental.
The 1 positive is I hit the required hands for the day.
But I wanted to get way ahead to buy myself some time over the next 5 days if I should have a bad day, either through tiredness or tilt or doing other things, or whatever.
I'm not going to sl ag tight players off, I quite enjoy playing them now.
But when the tables are full of really solid nitty shortstackers who (to my untrained eye at least) are playing next to perfect shortstack strategy, playing 20-30xbb stacks and leaving as soon as they double up, it doesn't half make it tedious.
I think it's coming towards the end of an affiliate rake race, so I think they're in for the weekend.
Joy.
A real exercise in self discipline and concentration.
+ £14.47
2,574 hands.
-----
Challenge totals
= +51.73 (+7.4 buyins)
= 9156 hands.
12,518 hands left to play over 3 days @ 4,172 hands per day.

Roll = £1560.73.

2 week weigh in on the attempt to get slightly less fat.
Lost another 2 lbs, making it 7lbs for the month.
First exercise for a few days tomorrow with a long early morning walk, and then a late night battling it out with these shortstacking Polish f k ers.
But I was getting v close to a brain explosion too, and it's nice to finish with the line going up for once.
That "feel good" end to the grind is worth a few bucks in itself.
Lots and lots of interesting hands I could post, some really big and maybe bad folds. It seems that this skill of laying down seemingly unfoldable hands is essential to be successful in these games nowardays.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, I thiought it'd be a real slog but for the most part I found it really easy to grind for long periods.
If I wasn't at the quacks first thing I'd probably still be grinding now.
Focus this week goes back to exercise, what with the poker challenge, the horrible weather and me being lazy I haven't done any since Monday.
Even the fitness app I downlioaded sent me a notification today basically asking me where I've been and calling me a fat tw @.
Surprisingly accurate programme.
-----
Rake race is over on bwin now (although there's probably another 1 starting tomorrow, yawn) so the action should be good this week. Looking forward to getting back on the tables again tomorrow. the game. being able to play the game properly again.
After a day off yesterday I'm back on the baze today.
I've decided to stop posting results in here and telling friends/family about them for a month to see how it goes.
It's clear 1 of my many mental leaks when it comes to poker is being overly concerned and proud of my results, which has the unfortunate effect of making this thread brag city when it goes well, and miserable f*ker central when it doesn't.
I'm very proud of my results and I make no apologies for being so (I think everyone should be, it's a difficult game!) but the focus on documenting such things has and will continue to negatively effect my progression.
So lets see how the month goes without any mention of them.
I'm not quite going into 'lockdown' Lambo style, but I'm hoping to keep enjoying the game and therefore playing alot of hands.
I don't want to come accross as after-timing, so I'll post this mornings results from a session I played before I made the above decision.
Hands played = 1,150
P/L = Minus £6
Roll going into the media blackout = £1695.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable and profitable Feb, cya on't other side.
Short term results are largely irrelevant so probably a good decision. looking forward to some cricket tips and book reviews to compensate. GL for Feb Posted by Phantom66
Well after an agonising weeklong wait, the library called to tell me that Candide had arrived and was waiting for me.
In Response to Re: "Sit & DOHHHHHHH Diary" : Well after an agonising weeklong wait, the library called to tell me that Candide had arrived and was waiting for me. A week into the February results blackout and it feels like it was a good decision.
Playing without results pressure is a pretty big deal, I wouldn't say it's the best thing I've ever done, that'd be unfair on my ex, coc aine and the West Street pub crawl, but it's up there.
Health was really good to start the month.
So much so I had the confidence to last through a small MTT session.
That was pretty cool, as I havent won (or really played) an mtt for about 9 months.
I've been feeling pretty cra ppy of late though, I think I got abit over-confident that the health had turned round for good and the fatigue Gods didn't like it, so they've punished me.
Still had decent volume over the weekend , and a profitable month so far(full figures to come at end of Feb).

Don't think a "nap" can be longer than an hour or 90 minutes tops.
4.5 hours is not a nap - that's a whole night's sleep for me. I generally go to bed at around 0030, & get up at 5am.
I do have a nap, aka "gym session" every afternoon, usually about an hour though.
Gawd knows what I'll do when I get old.
Whilst I was there I asked about Candide.
