Sigh jj just sigh.  Anyways, on another side note, the guy who bust me in the "big game format" mtt went onto win the mtt. I was kind of annoyed at the time. However it turns out this guy is a pretty decent mtt player.

A disappointing day overall, but some positives.

So today seen 3 of the lose the max things, and 2 MS.

I'll start with the Lose the max mtts. The first we went deep in. Busted with AA v 66 on 6xxx board. Was a 150K (120BB) pot v literally the only stack that had me covered on the table. So tilting. I can't remember the exits from the other 2 in all honesty so i assume they are standard.

The micro series. Well that was much more fun.

Event 1 was .fr's premier low stakes tournament. Seems its been adapted purely for this series. It was a 7 euro bounty hunter. Anyways we went very deep in this, comming 803rd. 685 cashed. :( our exit was standard, folded to the cut off who open jams 18BB. We have Jacks in the BB and are covered by literally an Ante. We call and lose the 100K flip. It sounds like 100K is alot but at this stage it was only 40BB at this stage. Would have guarenteed a cash though with the biggest stack on table we could have changed gear and got mammoth. But ah well. We did get 5 heads though, one equivelent to just shy of the tournaments buy in. So we have added another 50% of total cashes to the series just in heads here. Currently sitting on 64.14 euros cashed.

The other event wasn't quite so sweet. It was a deepstack and we did increase our starting stack. Until we got over-ruled by 77 on 7xx board twice. The first we hd AKdd. 3b a UTG raise with 2 calls. Both blinds, UTG and callers call us. 2 diamonds on flop with a 7. In it goes 77 holds. Later our exit we have TT, flop 97x and we have 30BB stack. BB donks into us, we shove and SB (same oppo as previous 77 hand) snaps with 77. So sigh.

I also set out to do 1,000 cash hands after busting all of these. I played on lose the max. I'm currently saving up some C4P for a rather smart looking t-shirt, and I'm trying to build  a strong sample of hands to see what we can do a certain level. In the end i didn't quite manage 1k hands, stopped at around 700, anyways +6 euros. Given how we ran for the first 400 hands half a buy in is a sheer miricle.

    PROFIT!!!!

I took some time to sober up before even attempting to write this. I was planning on writing in the morning but can't sleep and sobered up enough. So why not.

The day started strangely with some cash. I played for around 700 hands again. I finnished slightly in profit, and after 2k hands puts me in profit for NL10 on lose the max.

I had also qualified for the syndicate freeroll on sky. I ran pretty decent to be fair and took a nice £23. Have to admit was nice to play on sky again.

There was 2 micro series events today.

First up with the 2 euro 6 max turbo. I played probably the best i have throughout this series, but i also managed to run nice aswell. In the end we went reasonably deep, finnishing 43rd. Exit was annoying guy limped and we have 15BB and 2's. He limped Queens. Given that the ante's where also larger in this mtt i think our shove is a must.

Next up was a Speed Down 2R1A. Much like earlier in the series i took both rebuys straight away. We started well, and hovered around 15k-17k for a while (15k starting with 3 rebuys) before some huge pots. We then hovered between 30-40k. Eventually passing the rebuy stage we doubled. We then made min cash before 3bet jamming KQ into AA. sigh. We could have laddered but by that stage it was into the "deepstack" part of the mtt, thus picking up chips now would be huge for bullying the shorties and allow us to develop into the late stages of the mtt.

However this trully was a good day at the office.

    Variance again!

Yesterday i came back to Sky, it was also the last day of the MS. I'll start with that.

Event 47 was a HU shootout. Round one was a pain was literally about who could suck out when. Feel i had a huge edge on this guy but all the pots where I'd normally scoop big he got there or folded for minimal. Found myself a 5/6-1 dog several times. However as the blinds went up my edge increased, i got out of jail a few times and made it throo. Match 2 was much easier, very early in the match i called a  min raise with 56 of spades. flop 348 all spades, c/r he shoves with snap and hold v him TP no draw. Match 3 was the bubble. Rather annoyingly this guy 3b and peeled 4bs for fun. Even more annoyingly he got there in all the major ones. AQ v Q9, Q9x flop. We lost the min, JJ v A2 he hit a flush we went broke. Sigh bubbles.

The other 2 events we just never got going. Flips didn't go our way and  give then they where both hypers that run good is needed.

Sky we played the main, mini and mastercash for 2 hours. Disappointing verall and -£40. Can't complain most of that is the mtts, and a semi-bluff on EvilPingu. Happy with the bluff, its a pretty grim spot i put him in andi still think he folds enough of the time, and on the times he does call we have alot of outs.

The main was sick, AA and KK both being cracked, by the same guy too. (see BBV for more) and the mini was annoying. Early welost a huge pot, 20BB stack open shoved a call from 40BB stack we re-shove. ten high is good enough to get in pre for 40 bigs though and it got there. We did recover to take a head and must have been close to money when our KQ lost to AJ - standard stuff.

Overall im happy with how we played.

Dad has said he's taking me to the casino for my birthday. Not sure how you get a poker tournament as a birthday present but managed it twice in the last 3 years lol :). I guess its better than the lottery ticket some people get. Less problems when you win, and more chances of it.

.fr was the microseries and that is pokerstars.fr which is the french site for pokerstars. lol.

Lose the max, If you go back a few pages i origionally called it loseamax which is much closer to its real name, think the opposite of lose. Again i am playing on the .fr version.

Appoligies on delay on reply, will address why in next update, which will be soon. (within the next hour or 2)

    Highs, lows, and pokers

So I'll back track slightly. Last monday was my Birthday, but because i had the MS i done nothing, same with Tuesday. Wednessday i went to the live game with dad. To say i never got going would be an understatement. Very first hand, 2 limpers we're in SB KK, yey, Raise 8x, 3 callers, flop AQJ sigh nh lads. Pot got huge. We lost our 8x pre and not a penny more. That one hand sums up the tournament. Losing the min in literally every hand, but winning none that got to a flop. In the end i lost a flip for what would actually have been a pretty decent stack to build from with shortys around to pick on too. But thats standard.

On Thursday mum took us out for a family meal. The meal was pretty pathetic tbh, for the price i expected far greater quality. The good news was mum paid. :) - the soup was good though so i guess thats a plus. The main issue i guess is the main meal I had macaroni. I really should stop eating Macaroni when I'm out. I gave Mel my recipe for it when we got together and she's modified it slightly, unfortunetly for about every restraunt in the country, its bloooming good. Thus when it comes to eating Macaroni out, I just never enjoy it anymore.

Friday night a couple of mates took me out for some drinks. It was supposed to be a meal at weatherspoons and 2 or 3 pints and home. 12 hours later i was walking in the door very, very drunk. Mel wasn't amused. However  Iwill fully recommend to anyone the Large Mixed Grill that weatherspoons do - it also comes with free pint.

Saturday i had to stay at mums, we had arranged to visit my sister in Newcastle on thr Sunday and mum lives closer so wanted us to stay there so she didnt have to pick us up then drop us off. That also covers Sunday.

Monday and a return to poker. Played around 1k hands on lose the max, finnished 4 buy ins down. All standard stuff.

Tuesday and Wednessday, i played about 300 hands on Tuesday same place and won a buy in. Wednessday i went back to MTTs. I continued my staggering record of either final tabling or not cashing. 3rd in a €1 deepstack, however i lost €10. I did however get my first segment of my first deposit bonus. Basically its a 100% deposit bonus (so if u put in €10 you get €10) but it splits it into 5 segements (so each segment would be worth €2 for the €10 example) this is supposedly to make it easier to achieve. Mine was worth €8 so only down €2 for the day.

I am also getting closer to that t-shirt, about 25% of the way.

Over the weekend I have set myself a goal to play 15,000 hands. I have gave myself Saturday, Sunday and Monday to do this.

    Highs and Lows.

Again a bt of a delayed update. I never made my 15k hand target, and was kind of miffed about it. Played alot of mtts, ran soo dahm horrible.

Anyways i was starting to tilt, alot. It just seemed every time i had AK they had AA. Every time i had AA/KK they got there.

I won't go into too much detail but this bringd me to yesterday. Probably the best result I have ever had in terms or how i ran v how i played and result. I registered for a €2 6-max deepstack on lose the max. It had a pretty nice meaty €2k guarentee. Which i will add it beat. Anyways I can't remember the early stages much, but i know i was never much above starting stack.

Several times during this tournament i took a beat and it resulted in being crippled and down to 5bb or less in some cases. In each time i fought  back. Again and again, then get into a chip leader pot and lose and fight back. It was the story of my mtt.

As we got into the cash i was decen stacked, i hadn't long recovered. I kept plucking away. Picking every single spot carefully. Eventually i found myself closing in on a final table. Consistantly in the 2 or 3 shortest stacks. Consistantly not going broke. Consitantly getting it in good.

In the end i came 5th for €105 but given the circumstances of the full mtt i find that shows how well i played. I ran very -EV in that mtt and still went onto final table, lose a flip and then a 60/40 to finally finnish me off. Obviously i won't complain at variance in that spot, but never before have i bustd a tournament looked back at hands, and went how the **** did i make it that far without being angry at myself.

    Whines, Whines, Whines and Brags.

We shall start at Friday with this update. I wke up at mums, which was arranged well in advance as mums is closer to Berwick train station which was the cheapest route to Nottingham. Traveling down was a pain, train 1 Berwick to Newcastle was an hour late ontop of that the following train was cancelled so passengers for that where told to board mine. Someone was sat in the seat with my ticket on it, and refused to move. Train service said tough. The delay meant i missed my connection. Although that wasn;t too much of a problem.

The issue arose when i got to Nottingham though. I hadn't been able to get to a cash line. This meant i had no money to get from Nottingham Train station to my hotel. I walked around Nottingham for over an hour looking to discover i was lost. Luckily i managed to find a taxi and turns out I was very close to where i had started. lol. Well played me.

Anyways i got to DTD to late reg the £25 turbo. I had a decent first table but never really got going, a table move i had around 14-16bb ish. First hand utg AQ shove, 2nd hand BB raise and call, AQ shove so we pick up lots there. Third hand Flashflush opens, 1 peel, i probably should shove but elected to peel with 88. I was putting it in on about 70% of flops anyways. 8xx rainbow flashflush cbets about 1/3drd of his remaining stack. I shove he snaps with AA, turn Ace. However i was left with chips. I managed to steal some blinds. Then from UTG+1 there was a UTG raise, we look at AA. YEY. Shove folds to SB who is in severe pain. Eventually he re-ships, UTG lets of a loud sigh i think he was snapping now he sigh folds, he later claimed tens which given his reaction is a strong part of his range. SB flicks over rather ironically 88. I hold.

The rest of that tournament for me was shove fold. I doubled at one stage with Q8o v A9 which was a standard spot. 19 left, 16 cash we have 8BBish. UTG limps, +1 folds, we looks down at AA. We shove. UTG snaps shows Kings. xxxKx run out. GG.

    The Main Event

I will be using my updates elsewhere to remind me of some hands played here. As really I can't remember 100% all hands.

Table draw seen me in seat one, Dippydora to my left, SkiItaly to his. 2 unknowns/locals/good live players to my right and an away stack.

The hands started early. First i raise BTN (AJs) Dippydora calls, Axx 2 club flop, i cbet we get called. Turn club, i bet again, we get called. Club on river. Urgh. FFS! Etc Etc. Anyways i decide to rep, bet around pot, he tank calls with A8 the 8 being a club. However we take that all back quickly, from SkiItaly. Again i open the c/o this time with KJs. Both Dora and Ski call. (im shortening names as this is going to take an age to type up). Flop lands Q97 with 2 clubs 1 spade. We have bkdoor spades. Ski Italy leads for 300 - about 1/3rd pot. I elect to peel and assess, we also have outs to the nuts and position. If Dora gets fancy we can fold. Turn lands the magic T. He continues very small again 1/3rd of pot. I pump it up to 1200. River lands a 6. This means any 8 has a straigh too. He now leads again for 2500. 2/3rds pot with this line does look valuey. But i has the nuts. Because of his sizing i go bigger than normal with my value bet and went to 13.5k. He tanked and sigh folded Q9s face up. The river card is a killer for me then although still think he can fold to that sizing. I was expecting to see some kind of straight he would be unable to fold.

Updates show this hand, can't rember full hand and update is small. Dora opens utg for around a min raise. Folds round. We have around 40k and he is double stacked as has knocked out SkiItaly. We peel with 78. Flop is A56. we c/c turn goes c c. river 4. We lead for about 1.5x pot and get a call. Seat 6 also busts just after this and 2 new players join our table. One was an older local 2 to my left, the other was aq sky player with a hand written badge, unfortunetly i couldn't quite read it. I thought at first it was steamboat but on a second look i think that was wrong.

Next hand comes is an interesting one. Seat 5 opens. Seat 5 i think is a local but since found out is part of the another poker forum Tikay uses alot. I had picked him out early as one of the better players at the table. Anyways he opens to 700. The new sky player peels, and i decide to squeeze from the button with AJs. I hadn't done this alot and he's opened alot of my btns. Anyways seat 5 folds, seat 6 calls. Flop lands Ace high giving us nut flush draw. About as hard as you can hit a flop. We cbet for 3650. My opponent asks to see my stack, I'm confused by this as he was easily the effective stack, and it leads to a mistake from him and me. He raises to 10k. While he was eyeing up my stack to leave fold equity he took no consideration of his own. I had a beedy eye on this and seen he only had 15k back. My mistake here is not flating and jamming in an attempt to get it in there and then. He sighs, and snap folds. 46k at the break.

After the break tho we got into a very annoying pot. We open QQ from UTG+1. Dora calls, and seat 5 defends. Flop lands 972 with 2 clubs. I cbet get 2 calls. We dont have Qc. Turn Tc. Literally one of the wettest cards in the deck. I slow down and check. I expect dora to check back alot and i can assess the river. When dora bets seat 5 will fold alot again allowing us to assess. However Dora bets closr to pot. Seat 5 calls. My mind just goes like this "&*"(*$&*" we find the fold. River is a blank dora bets large again and gets called. They both had a bare 9, seat 5 wins. I was annoyed at this. Although i think long term its a good fold. I eneded up going back down to starting stack.

Then i got into another pot with dora. I open KJo. He calls. Flop 23K 2 clubs, we have Kc. We cbet, Dora raises. I don't like it but i call, i think i have to see one, he can have draws. Turn is Ts, he checks back. River Jh. I lead for around 5.3k which is again pretty close to pot. Dora snaps, i scoop. 43k at the dinner break is alway nice.

After dinner i call a raise from seat 5 with KJo, Dora also calls. I think i was SB not loving my call in hindsight. Anyways flop comes Kxx, i c/c down v Dora who mucks river, later claimed KT. KTs, get about a million callers, flop second pair and a gutshot. C/c i tiny bet, and dora calls behind. Turn checks around. My thoughts then where just to get to showdown, i don't think we can get value from worse by betting. Anyways I river trips, value bet gets called we win a nice pot to take up to 70k.

We did manage to get up to around 85-90k ish. However Seat 5 opens, we 3b from Sb with AKo. He 4bets. Now at this stage i am effective stack with double average. Just to give an idea of how annoying this spot is. A 5bet is bad. I elect to peel, miss flop and c/f. We have 60k at this break. After this break tho Dora got very uber aggro and the dynamic changed. I went 3 hours without winning a hand. Every time i opened Dora 3b i either peeled in pos or folded. I bricked soo often, everything was a marginal nothing better or worse. behind me Dora wwas opening id say at least 95% of hands, and 3betting most too. It was extremely difficult to play against when you go card dead. I literally raise folded/blinded down from 60k to 25k when i got a table move.

On the new table i played 2 orbits, got a walk in BB twice and never done anything else and got another table move. Early on this table move its folded to the btn, he opens 2.5x i have A8 in BB and around 13BB and shove. He snaps with A5 and we hold. We also get some momentum and steal some pots, meaning at this break we have 56K. Most of this was 3b shoving tbh. However never really getting much, but getting through.

Blinds do go up though and that means our stack is getting shorter despite us breaking around even every orbit. Eventually i have 14BB and see AT i shove. When Bungle snap re-shoves behind you know you're in trouble. He has TT we don't get there and bust in around 52nd.

    Sunday

Sunday i railed for a while, i watched the F1 so missed the bubble etc. Then played the 7pm game. £25+6.

Anyways i managed to split this 5 way, for £575. (second place was normally £513) average stack was 11BB and my chip lead was only 25BB so i think that was a pretty good deal.

    Thought i would pop in.

Iam still alive and interested in updating this diary.

For whatever reason since comming home I haven't really felt like playing. Think I've played 12 mtts since comming home, i did get 1 FT a 5th for €80 of lose the max.

    Back on the game

So today i managed to finally get a decent grind in. 14/15 tournaments accross 5 different sites. The reason for that is to allow me pick of the bunch on mtt schedules.

Most of the games fell on winamax and FTP, 2 or 3 on stars, one on stars france and 2 or 3 on sky.

First FT of the day was a £150 £3 bh on sky Came 5th for £10 with heads. lol.

Anyways that aside I got my first ever cash on FTP that lead to a FT which again didnt fall my way, 8th for $21. Standard spots went wrong for me, and other shortys managed to double so failed to ladder.

I got my second FTP cash too, with a 21st place, again a pretty standard exit, only KK into AA. Got about $14 for that i think not sure tho.

We then bubbled a further 2.

We got another small cash on Winamax before the big one for the day. A FT in a €2 deepstack 6 max. I came 5th for €66.

Over the coarse of the day i feel it should have been more. However things didn't fall my way in vital times, i won't turn down the profit.

Its been a while since I've actually closed out and mtt, not including the win in nottingham, as that doesnt count because i split it as a result i never seen it out. Although i think that was the right desision.

I think this year has now been my most profitable year, and if i can turn around my form on stars and stars.fr which have both been woeful (variance or playig bad who knows) i could be showing a very healthy sum. However if i maintain this ability stay way from cash, and continue developing i guess i can't complain.

One final thing, thoughts on me updating this diary about playing elsewhere, i feel kind of dirty for it.

Sky know that the vast majority of players play on other sites too, plus it's not as if you have stopped playing on sky altogether.

I'm interested to see how things are going for you whatever site it is on. Keep up the good work don!

    Winning

Firstly thanks for the feedback Waller, if anyone else wants to comment on that issue you are more than welcome, all feedback is welcome.

Yesterday was mostly a debate between me and mel about potentially pre-ordering the Xbox One. So far I've got her to say she'd think about it - given the first few responces thats an improvement. I was hit and miss on the idea, but with Mircosoft chaning alot of their ideas, and Fifa 14 comming free with it, I have warmed to the idea. The PS4 did have a good chance, but meh.

I have also started uploading gaming videos to youtube. I enjoy doing it, at the moment mostly its Football manager but its more of a tester of software and me getting used to editing again. If anyone is interested in watching give me a pm and ill ship u the link.

Anyways onto pokers. I have had an insane headache that lasted 3 days. Thankfully today it had finally gone. This meant i could player poker 100% fit. I did play like 3 mtts the day before yesterday. All ended in tears very early.

Today i reged up for 16 mtts, over the same 5 sites. I cant remember how many on each. Anyways i bubbled 2 on FTP and one basic bubble on winamax. I was running pretty grim in some insane spots tbh.

Although strangely .fr was offering me my lifeline. PS.fr has been vbery much a bogey site for me, and although its strange to say, in my strongest ever pokering year on PS.fr im in heavy loss, and PS im having my worst year. However i ended up with a 20th and a 25th for a combined €18 still not covering my mtt entries. the 25th was slightly ul i got into a pot for the chip lead in pre with AK. He had KK sigh. I was covered by about 3BB :(

However we had one last mtt, It was on sky. I finally managed to remember how to see out a tournament as i took it down for £96 inc heads.

Have to admit its been nice to actually win a tournament again.

I will also be unlikely to play any UKOPS, tonoght the Rangers game is on BT Sport - which i get free with my broadband (sweet) and i havent p[layed any sats for the rest. Would be nice to maybe play one, but in honesty im not that fussed - maybe i shud, a bink wud pay for that xbox one lol.

Edit: just checked my email and apparently i have $2.75 to add to todays total for a 203rd place in some tournament on normal stars. lol

A few kicks in the teeth, with an apology hug!

So today i played 100% solely on sky. i focused mostly on UKOPs sats, both mains, and a few mtts on the side.

    First MTT was the 3pm 3 max, i came 2nd. £28 i got.

Im not sure exactly how many UKOPs sats i played, i know i won a seat to the semi - i took the £24. Ontop of that i bubbled HU for the £55 to Samantha25. Someone i dont mind losing to, but when theres nothing for second it sucks.

I moved on, next up I'm HU with RyanC7 again nothing for second, and a £110 main seat for first. I lose again.

So i took some time to chill and came back. Again i got hu. I think it was for the £55 but not 100% sure, anyways nothing for second, guess where i came, yeap 2nd.

So i try again, this one was for the £55, and there was £44 for second. I came third. With 4 left i was chip leader, in the space of 3 hands, first i shoved putting pressure on shorty with J9 he called with A5 and held. Second theres a limp, i shove 77, BB calls with AT he's second in chips, and limper calls. xxKJQ run out im crippled get it in A9 v K5 and K on the door - i had 3BB left and was bb on that hand.

As u can imagine, expessially given my past tilting issues, which effect me but not to the same level, i wasn't in the best of fettle.

The £2 rebuy (6.30 ko) i was in for £8, some how managed to miss the add on. Anyways i got it in with 88 v AT. Yeap i lost. FFS! That was literally 2 mins after the 77 hand in the sat. I was also in my first ever UKOPs event - the £2 rebuy, and the 7pm £200.

I made the end of the rebuy stage of the UKOPs with £4 spent, so £6 total inc the addon which i didnt miss. I was 14th in chips at this stage, but post rebuy period i got ul in several spots, annoyingly all to the same guy who i think was inexperianced. All the best to him anyways.

The 7pm however was just the gin. There was some overlay, not sure how much but overlay is overlay. Anyways so i raised and folded, and a tilted don is a nightmare to put up with sometimes, and at times the table had no answer, and when it did, i had it. 3 cashed, i buist the guy in 4th - yes i made it throo the bubble. I bust the guy in third, and no i didnt manage to lose the hu, i won that too. £100.

So i come out of one of the hardest days emotionally i have had in 2013(pokerly speaking), and i have managed to show a £70 profit. I walk away feeling disappointed with that. Insane to say i know.

Tomorrow is a new dawn and a new day, UKOPs im comming for you!!
