    Good Morning all

    @rainman215
I was too tired to answer your question last night, I think it’s best if I attempt to answer here, save clogging up the other thread with backwards and forward posts.

If I remember correct, you asked “ If she comes back and maybe commits a terrorist act and kills a child, will I be able to talk to the mother and say we have to maintain our standards”

Firstly, I don’t think it’s wise to try to look into the future and have “Ifs, buts, maybe’s”, secondly, there will be a few like minded people who would suggest as I have, would it be a good idea for ALL the people who have suggested this be the best course of action to turn up at the (perhaps) grieving mothers house and say what you suggest I do..

I said kids do stupid things, I speak from experience, as I have shared here my dear daughter did a stupidthing just after giving birth to our gorgeous grandson, she developed a cocaine habit, she was in danger of losing her child. It’s been said that this girl made her choice when she went over there ( At 15 years old, my daughter was 21) and should now be left there.

If I had the same mentality as suggested, should I have just left my daughter to fend for herself as “ She has made her choice” ? Doing that would serve no good purpose I feel, our grandson would be taken away, my daughter would not have recovered and we would be mourning her loss.

Education and love is the way forward, caring for your fellow man/woman.

I’d like to touch upon another thing mentioned - “ An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”
This particular saying is rather troublesome, let’s say we do that, we do what she has witnessed, then by the saying, whoever loves her ( and family will) have the right to follow suit, and act upon it, and so on and so forth, the first deed gets lost , the terrorising continues, and we become ( as I said) Just ....like....them.

I hope this answers your question.
    Have a good day.

    Good Afternoon
I really appreciate your post, you haven’t caused me any pain stress or upset you have no need to apologise.
I truly do understand your angst on this and other matters, I do think that you come across badly sometimes ( As do I ) as it’s so difficult to write down in words how we feel and convey the reasons behind our feelings.

The country we live in is so divided at present, we were put in a position we shouldn’t have been, and now we are suffering the consequences of that.

Once upon a time we could have a good moan down the pub, go home to our loved ones and that would be the end of it, now due to social media life has changed dramatically, what I thought and said say 5 years ago I would probably shudder at now, but now we seem to have to stand by what we have written.

Once again, thank you for posting, have a great day.

    Good evening reader.
Poker first methinks., Having not been ‘Out’ out for a couple of weeks, and being on the cusp of making a withdrawal last week I promised my son and my daughters bf that the next withdrawal I make I would pay their buy in to a live poker tournament down the road at the Rendezvous in Brighton. I would prob need about £150 to fulfil my promise.

From that day on, I forgot how to play 😊.
Final tables reached up to yesterday - 1 ( a £3 Omaha hi lo) So miffed with my rubbish play I have forgotten what position I came on the ft.

As this weekend is most optional to go to the casino due to family commitments I seem to have put myself under a little bit of pressure - oops.

This evening was my last chance, so I played my standard games hoping for the best, things didn’t seem to be going too well in most of the tournaments I was playing, I was out of the mini, out of the freeroll, out of the £5 £1k gtd bh, bumbling along in 17/21 of the £2 deepstack and had 2k chips at 300/600 in the £5 Omaha hi lo bh, the “good news” is I was 1/11 in the £3 Omaha hi lo.

    Rolling sleeves up time.
Somehow managed to double up in the £5 hi lo.
Then got a bounty, then another, and reverted to aggro mode, went to war with a similar stack, doubled up, and woohoo on the ft.
Meanwhile I had reached the ft of the £3 one.
Long story a bit shorter, I fin 4th in the £3 one, cashed in the £2 deepstack, and .....won the £5 hi lo 😎
    Saturday is Casino night
    Ft count - 21.

    Life stuff.

Dear daughter is having more good days than bad at present.
Awesome grandson makes me howl with laughter every single day.
I have booked the 11th March off work to take my good lady to hospital for the brain scan she has been waiting a while for, fingers crossed for then.

    Work stuff.
I work in the joinery trade, and one day this week my boss asked me to help him do a survey, we work in the South of England and have quite “ posh” clients.
I wish he would given me more notice than on the day, I wasn’t wearing my visiting socks ( Big hole where my big toe was making an unwelcome appearance) 😩

We turned up at quite the most gorgeous house I have had the pleasure of setting foot in ( toes and all)
The lady of the house arrived as we pulled into the drive, and was most welcoming., she introduced us to the housekeeper who was busying herself with the ironing.

Introductions over we start the survey of oak staircase, ballustrading round a massive open mezzanine floor etc.

Those who don’t like reading about “Tummy problems “ stop reading now....

As I have mentioned previously, The radiation damage to my lower area means I get urgencies.
Not just from the front 😢

I excused myself from the boss and asked the lady of the house if I could possibly use her bathroom ( praying that it was nowhere near where she and the housekeeper were in a room talking about the upcoming party which the vicar would be attending)

She very kindly points me in the direction of the bathroom.
She didn’t have to point very far.
It was in the next room 😩.

I went , I was in there for approximately 25 minutes.
I had to wait for the water to fill 3 times, to flush a very stubborn apparition.
There were no matches to strike ( apparently that helps)

After trying unsuccessfully for 5 minutes to work out how to turn the lovely swan neck tap on., I finally managed to do so.
Ok where to wipe my hands,
Of course there’s no bl...dy hot air dryer, of course there’s a lovely fluffy white towel perfectly folded.
I wiped my hands on my jumper.

And there in a nutshell is a standard day in the life of Tom.

    Goodnight all, peace x

Great question, apparently the sulphur? when striking the match allegedly negates any unwanted odour. 😊

Tummy troubles story was an epic, such a nice house but no air freshener? Or was it beyond that? Did you get the job, or jobby I should say?

    Hi Paul

I couldn’t see any air freshener , although tbh it was pretty much beyond the capabilities of Airwick max, I think it was the kind of house like Buck Palace, where the ‘staff’ pretend there’s no pungent aroma whilst Liz is in the room, then when she walks the dogs they shovel the offending apparition out of the pipe work and burn the remains whilst whistling “God save the Queen” through their First World War gas masks.

Oh I forgot, we already had got the job..we were doing the final survey pre production, she mentioned that they were having an extension to the stables and would be in contact with us about pricing up for the joinery.

^ That was before I visited the bathroom

    Morning all

I’m currently at work , trying to figure out how to create a new blog in the rail.
I can’t seem to do it, anyway here’s the thing -

    Warning - YouTube suicide challenge!!

There’s a video doing the rounds on YouTube- and kids youtube called Momo
It pops up and tells kids different ways to harm themselves, and threatens them not to tell their parents.

Parents need to be aware of this.

As to that You Tube thing, wow. Really, google, (or, more correctly, Alphabet), who own You Tube, really need to get their act together on stuff like this.

If using a Desktop or IPad or similar, right hand sidebar (far right of page), just under where it shows your Avatar & screen-name you should see "New Discussion".

I'm really not sure how it is done on a Mobile 'Phone though. I did have a look, but still none the wiser.

If you still struggle this evening, let me know & I'll start it for you.

    Good Afternoon
My “ I must update more often” statement seems a tad off.

Ok, poker stuff ( as far as I can recall) Since my last update I have managed to reach 6 final tables, 4 of them in Omaha Hi lo ( recurring theme) 1 in the £5 mega stack, and 1 in the 7@7 bh.
I finished 2nd in the 7@7, 5th in the mega, and won one of the Hi Lo’s.

    Ft count -27

The live poker tournament was good, it was a £30 entry, somehow meaning it was £48 each for the three of us, £10 for the bounty and £8 reg fee I think.

The person who had never played live before and plays now and again on the site which plays with play money obviously outlasted me and my son 😏

What makes that even more of a great effort is during the 1st break he told me he had raised with AK and on a flop of AKx he got re-raised and lost 17k of the 20k starting stack to pocket Kings ( live rigged ofc)

Unfortunately that gave him a bad vibe of playing AK, when sat with 80k and me standing up railing , someone shoved pre ; he ummed and ahhed, folded the AK and saw the big stack call with 68, the shover showing AJ and doubling up with a pair of Aces.
He did really well though and got 3 bounties and fell just short of the ft when his 10 10 v JQ aipf saw his stack decimated and he busted shortly after.

Meanwhile my son was talking to a nice chap who mentioned he played on sky, I introduced myself and asked him his name on here, it was jono who runs the forum triple tournament. I didn’t recognise him without a hat on 😊, I said I may resume playing it soon.

    Life stuff.
I mentioned in my last update that dear daughter was having more good days than bad, well...apparently that was the reason the folk who prescribe her medication decided in their wisdom that she didn’t need a certain tablet.
I don’t know if the two are linked, but from that point things turned dramatically, and the hallucinations returned the voices returned, my good lady and I offered as much support as we are able, we get lots of help from my sister in law also.

This went on for weeks, then the people who are in charge of prescribing decided to try giving her the medication they took her off, gradually she has started to turn the corner and starting to get a little better, like I say, I’m no expert and don’t know if the two are linked...

I understand Chloe has a one to one support worker, the key word in this as far as I’m aware is ‘Support’, Chloe is very honest these days and tells her what she is going through with stuff., the ‘Support’ worker has now informed social services , which has absolutely scares my dear daughter to death, she’s worried sick her child is going to be taken off her.
That doesn’t help her mental health., so we are trying to tell her that all will be well.

Hospital appointment tomorrow for my good lady, I’m the chauffeur , I really hope she knows the way to Brighton 😊

    Peace all x

    Hi Sean
Sorry to hear of your issues mate, glad you seem to be on the mend , does the weight loss affect you running up the stairs at night any quicker? 😉

Seriously though, I understand the docs are in a bit of a no win situation, the medication they prescribe has to be balanced with cost of the tablet v potential benefit to the patient, also if someone is on a certain drug for a while it may not really be necessary in some cases, not so much with a thing like diabetes which needs to be managed through diet and medication (afaik)

Whilst I’m here, may as well update tonight’s results.
Cashed in the £2 deepstack, no ft this time for this one.
Won the £5 Omaha Hi Lo.
    That’s it.
    FT count - 28

Oh, apart from playing 3 all in sats to the Vegas Quarter for a couple of quid.
Played super in the first one 😊 won that.
    Fin 2nd in the quarter
Must find out when the semi is ( insert pun of choice)

    Goodnight all x

    Good Afternoon

I’m going to keep this thread going, I did consider knocking it on the head for one reason or another, but I think I owe it to myself, and others who may be in a position I was in to give hope for the future.

Poker/Gambling stuff - The - “ Money back as cash” offer from sky bet during the Cheltenham Festival was a great offer for those of us who occasionally have a dabble on the nags, well...pretty much everyone who bets really, what’s to lose?
I was lucky enough to pick one winner over the Festival first races, so a tidy profit for my £20, I withdrew £200 and guess what? I managed to avoid the “Withdraw and you get punished” doom switch 😊.

Poker over the last few weeks has gone ok, apart from the Vegas semi , where I fell into the ‘away player in the bb’ trap, I shoved my button with Ax and the away player miraculously got his internet connection back just as I shoved, his QJ hitting to knock me out.

Other than that, I made 6 final tables since my last update, 3 wins, one in a £1 Omaha Hi Lo, I won the £2 deep stack last night , and one in the £11 entry Bounty Hunter, The other ft’s were £5 Omaha hi lo, which I finished 2nd and 6th in, and the £5 Megastack, which I can’t remember where I finished.

Due to my skill set, I don’t know how to prove any of the above, and since the change in shark scope I think I’m not on there, I tried once and failed to fill the online form in, so if I do have any readers still, you will have to take my word for it 😊.

    Life stuff.
My dear daughter is improving slowly., we went out to a farm yesterday (£10 entry! 😢)with gorgeous grandson, he loves all animals and I managed to take some lovely photos and videos on my trusty IPhone , it’s fab to have technology to allow even my limitations can deal with.

My good lady and dear Daughter had an appointment in London at St George’s hospital, they seem to be getting closer to working out the issue with their hearts, my good lady has left ventricular heart failure with a reduced injection fraction ( Heart not strong enough to pump blood) Dear Daughter has a reduced injection fraction.
The hospital believe it’s a genetic cardio myopathy condition which doesn’t show until later in life, which means my son and grandson need testing, it’s always a worry when they go there and I know I shouldn’t, but I project all kinds of scenarios, I guess the good thing is that they are in ‘The system’ and hopefully can get the right treatment, although there is no cure at present.

    That’s all for now.
I am guilty of this myself, but would appreciate any feedback.

    Have a great day. X
