when I get,'outplayed' Always, doff my cap.with the fully respect, however, pocket 66 and a flopped set, tell me the best in the world are getting of that hand ?
but when I get 'oulucked' same player same tourney, an hour later,I ask myself,it is all , just simple Maths.
10.20 this is the out lucked, correct decision on my part, which was an hour after, outplayed (same tourney)

and finally, 'price this one up ?'
    final table, five handed,
I do actually know, the pure math on this, but I am throwing it,out there.

A straight flush ( me personally) one in eight months
But a straight flush, not something you see on a regular basis
Two straight flushes,in two minutes ? not something you see on a regular basis
Two straight flushes,in two minutes,to the same player... 'price the mathematical odds up on that occurrence ? ! ? !

That, and only remembering the hands that you got unlucky on. It happens to all of us. The rest of us remember that the reverse happens just as often.

You are not changing either your play or your mindset. Without at least 1 of those 2 things, you should not be playing poker for anything other than enjoyment..

If we are playing the game properly, these things will happen to us every night. Always have, always will.

Once we've played the game a few months, we get to understand this, & just shrug our shoulders & move on. The negative energy we expend on getting all revved up about it can only do our game harm & take away our enjoyment. These things happen to every player. They do.

As each deal is a completely new and random event the odds of the same player getting a straight flush in consecutive hands is the same as the same player getting one 10 times in a row or just the once.

If it helps think of a roulette wheel 36 numbers each paying 35/1. Now say you put a chip on number 13 it comes in. you win 35 chips plus your bet back = 36 chips

The very next spin you leave a chip on 13 and it comes in again you win another 35 plus your bet =36 chips and so on. The odds of it happening never change even if it happened every 5th spin for hours on end yes it would be very unusual and maybe a trifle ( hmmm trifle yum, sorry got distracted) suspicious. But its still a separate random event each time.

If I hit runner runner flush to beat your flopped set its roughly 4% or 25/1. Next hand its still only 4% or 25/1 and so on.

i could do it a 1000 times in a row (still only 4% each time) but heres the rub its 25/1 for a reason the next 24000 times i miss and your set holds up.

FWIW I think quite a few of the hands you post arent the biggest beats and I feel you need to readjust your thinking a little. If youre a 60% favourite to win youre going to lose almost half the time and on several of your examples youre not even that good % wise.

Nobody on this forum wants to belittle you but you have some of the most consistent winners on here offering game changing advice which for some reason you seem unable to grasp. They do this out of a genuine desire to help you play a better game and in so doing enjoy the game more.

    Yours in poker

    Mark

Fair Enough, from today, I will accept, debate, take on board, every single bit of ' intelligent decate' ( Poker, going) and for clarification) not ashamed to STATE.....
At 53...going on 54........ ( only relevant, to the older generation)
Not ashamed, to state, I still, '..blub' every time, I watch, Mrs Victoria Coren Mitchell, take down second EPT.... every time ( maybe ? for reason's not obvious)

that out of the way, huge respect, to Joe,Ram,Barney,Neil.... !
and Mr K, and Fripton on Sea's finest.............................!
Oh, and even Roy ( Roy who ?) here is a clue,I uses to have, a rather salubrious flat
    Southsea..Lennox Road South, ( how many casino's ? ) for Poker ?
    the original Southsea,later Gunwharfe Quay
On my life, On my daughters life, Roy the Boy, was homeless,( as in the full true sense)
take a nano second to confirm that... (attatched Pompey) cherry hogs.....

you can have, your life, my life, on, I am not, any remote kind of Walter Mittey character
easy for me to prove................( oh so easy)

ok... I really, really, want, some game changing Advice, please....
But only, ' if the class players' take a look at this.........................

running bad !.................... lost connection !

    straight after that,
    hand number;
only, the real Poker players, will even 'get the maths' best starting hand, correct decision, IMPROVED on the flop.........

every Poker player, ( I am advised, rates themselves, better, than their ability) including me,..............................................
    proof, of run bad, posted............

I will be respectful, I will debate, (but only) with Poker players, (that) like me, respect the game, adore the game, would ''die for Poker'

And proud,(of the above sentence) for a zillion reasons I am not prepared to put on a public Fourm

    I nearly,wrote here; ( but didn't) obviously
UK home address, (near Gatwick) Edenbridge, my ' mobi' same one for a zillion years etc etc...........
regards, in the fullest sense ...misterpj
    p.s......................................................
I play, this wonderful game 'of ours' two very different ways (deliberately)
Hope, and this is not any sort of a joke (at all) to see you all (at a live Skypoker event) how so ? why so ? , civil court case, 5 years long, French (multi billion) company........ all resolved, v v v soon
    best wishes Paul (J) misterpj

FIRST HAND 7 4 why are you even in the hand
2nd Hand A 2 suited not a strong utg hand to call its either a 3x or dump it
3rd Hand A J s you played it fine just got unlucky
4th Hand K K you got it in ahead villain calls with an overcard run outs a sickener. Standard beat really.

In summary you got unlucky in 2 of the four hands.

Certainly have no claim for playing the best poker in examples 1 or 2.

Allow me to expand on the first example.

You may feel aggrieved that you lost your connection when you had a full house and a player in front shoved. However, lets examine why you should firstly not be in the hand and secondly not be posting it in a forum where others can take advantage.

You are in the big blind with 7 4 offsuit and have faced an open raise from utg who if hes playing any kind of game is doing that with nothing less than the top 12-15 % of his range, then theres also a call from the HJ who is typically doing this with the top 20% of his range (admittedly these % are for a typical 6 max cash game but I think its still close enough to use). Why are you defending with trash ? It makes you super exploitable.

Secondly posting this hand on here now lets others know that you are willing to defend your big blind with almost any 2 in the face of what should be 2 stronger hands.

I would suggest that many players will note this and subsequently attack your blinds with poorer holdings than usual which will actually lead to you losing more often with your stronger holdings when they connect with the flop which in turn causes you to ask why and post more examples on here.

I would also suggest that maybe you download a solver and spend some time analyzing all of the hands youve posted. I think it will greatly improve your game.

    Hand 1
I don't hate the peel from the bb but what is the thought process with the lead and the sizing? If we are making this call pre we aren't doing it to flop 1 pair. What hands in our range are we doing this with?
