Why are you calling utg with a weak holding? Once again youre pleading bad luck etc when you shouldnt be in the hand in the first place. UTG is either raise or fold with 5 players at the table.
Yes we should maybe open our range but once that flop comes and you min bet your fate is sealed. Weak play both pre and post flop allowed villains to outdraw you.
Unlucky ? Certainly. Best poker? Err I dont think so.
Unfortunately, despite all the effort so many of you have made to help @misterpj, he does not even bother to read your replies.
He wrote this a few days ago....
"Further, I have not, as yet, read replies to me, in ages, I will get around to it....."
So the many times we have all suggested NEVER LIMP UTG with rubbish, or there is no point quoting hand numbers, which he does every time, are all to no avail.
I think he just wants us to say "hard luck chap, you were unlucky".
The most dangerous thing in poker is when we THINK we are playing well, but in fact we are playing dreadful poker. Limping UTG with junk is always going to end badly, no matter who you are, though of course only the worst players attempt it.
It's very sad, he has not taken on board any of the advice.
To answer the original question re when does playing the best poker pay off? I would answer when one stops playing hold em and start playing Omaha hi~lo much more to think about so many more hand possibilities that's probably why so many more people play hold em Omaha tax
