In reponce to Bandini i meant i was going back as i felt the value was there.
15th Oct
Night session part 2
Looking over the HH of the last session i wasnt happy with 2 things, A) standing with that much value around. playing like a complete ape.
Anyways i sat back down and yes it was turblent but ive managed to recover some losses. Again however i made a few daft calls.

This hand, the flop completely confused me, tbh i was folding a 9 high flop. Because of the flop confusion i called turn and hit miricle river.

Recovered losses well and learnt something in doing so. Dont leave the table when theres a fish around. Im leaving now as i need to go to asda and the guy who i felt had most value took his 500BB and ran. I was just sitting waiting for a spot but it wasnt fothcomming.
Yh that A4s hand is insane, you know that so don't **** do it again ! JJ, nasty turn, you have to bet it and tbh kinda sick he hits top pair there, tough when he sets you in probably 50-50 for call. J10 at the end looks like spew to me, turn I don't think you beat ANYTHING, river again gotta fold. Overall though this level is pure value town, just about dodging beats and not tilting yourself. Posted by Dudeskin8
yea i know ur right mate. im really not happy with how i played in honesty. Although i think i know the issue that caused it. I had a tourny running on stars which plays completely differently from all sort of sane poker, i think that really effected my game. Should slap myself for that.
However i think i showed caracter last night by willing to go through a full set of Hand Historys realise theres value and that im also playing bad. Yes i still didnt play close to well but i did play far better than what i had done throughout the previous 2 hours and i managed to recover.
The Jacks v K4 hand, im really bamboozled by that hand. Also the TT hand which you didnt mention im guessing thats a good thing.
I think by doing things a little differently ive developed as a player. I know thats came at a cost of a buy in, but i really proved alot to myself last night. I think thats worth 100 buy ins. And long term i think if i can keep learning i might actually cut out the stupid daft mistakes.
I was trying to stay up longer but ive been up since 10.30 last night and tbh its really kicked in. Id found a second wind which got me through most of the afternoon but im past it now. Anyways this wa a phenomial day. After my disappointment of last night i done my usual sunday. 2 primo sats. Never got anywhere. To add to the mix i noticed a £300 overlay on a UKOPs sat. Bingo into that for £4. Gave myself a goodd chance at that to bu6y one river later i was crippled no biggie. Saving my run down for cash, £10 is only one buy in right.
Anyways too many hands to post, so im posting highest value only.

So close. Knew i would be close when i finnished but i was too tired to try and push. plus i felt that would lead to mistakes. Anyways Back to NL8 after a snooze and then the following session will hopefully be NL10. Also to note of how much im increasing grind. Ive already broke the most ive ever had for a months C4P with still half the month to go.
Don when I have played at this level (ok I don't take it too serious I know but) I have found that getting callers isn't a problem, the number of callers is the issue. IMO at this level your 4x raise size is too small, with 2 limpers you only 5x it, as a minimum its got to be 4x plus one for each limper but I would suggest you try 6x plus one for each limper and see how you go. I've have got plenty of callers with 10x and more.
A bigger pre flop raise = a bigger pot pre, your raising pre because you believe you have a strong hand now so get more money in the pot now. A bigger pre flop pot means your flop/turn bets can be bigger so you can get all the money in quicker post flop if you decide to, exactly what you want to do when your raising pre with the strongest part of your range.
On the flop with a strong made hand you bet 3/4 pot, I would just pot it as a minimum, try over pot betting it too, if they are calling charge them while you believe you have the best hand. Looking at the last AA hand you only have 40% equity v 92ss and QTo for example, if 92ss was 56ss you have only 34% equity on the flop v 2 villains, sure you're very likely ahead now but charging them 3/4 pot is just too cheap. I would also pot/jam the turn, by raising more pre and potting the flop its easier to get your stack in on the turn. I just don't believe these guys care what the bet size is, if they are calling they are calling so charge them as much as they will pay.
Finally when you get 3 or 4 bet and you have AK why take a race when their range is QQ+ and AK has only 38% equity v this range. You play at this level so feel free to tell me i'm wrong but racing as a dog at this level makes no sense to me. Sure higher up we need to get it in pre with AK and worse but at nl8 how many are able to exploit you on the few occasions you raise with AK and fold to an obvious RR thats QQ+ all day long.

Stien im confused as to what hands we're discussing.
tbh im about rolled for my target for moving up, NL8 has been a rollercoaster ride, although tbh it was an mtt win losing at cash for 2/3 days then ive ebeen winning since. Bar one session where i played terrible last night. I have full respect for what your saying. Ive found at NL8 more than at NL4 you need to find how to get value from regs. Maybe because i prefer playing 4-6 tables really doesnt help you on a limit like NL8 where theres only ever 6 - 7 tables at most running. That means im bumping into the regs on a solid basis.
Ive found at NL8 unlike at NL4, a 32p raise (16p equivellent for NL4) is often enough to ghet a HU pot. Obviously i do pick up fish and last night i have had tables where i open twice and on occassions triple that amount. Tbh there was one guy who never folded pre once if he put money in the pot so i double my open, then kept adding to it till he folded pre. Now tis wasnt to see if he'd fold, this was to see how much can i get out of him pre and he was c/f 99% of flops.
ty for some good feedback although if you can direct me to the hands we're discussing i might be able to follow it a little better.
Tbh this session didnt last long, due to tables dying constantly. In the end i decided to stop for now and wait for more value later. I tried NL8 was only one game running and it was full, NL4 was full of shorties so NL10 shot seemed ok. I managed to get onto 2 tables and get some imprtortant notes.
Im not sure what my Profit/loss will be on NL10 yet as really i ahvent been able to get a full assessment of what fair and what isnt. So since theres 3 winning hand above £1 ill show them and whatever losing hands.

This hand i was in two minds over. I felt i could re-raise flop but wasnt sure how that would play out at NL10 so i decided to flat and "fish" once the river lands and all the action comes however i think my re-raise is a little too strong, i think im only ever getting called by a K high flush here. Maybe a smaller raise or what do people think about a flat?

Small winning in a small session from NL10 although alot of hands there im not happy with. Tbh i think its going to take a week or so to properly settle into NL10 but im happy to do that. Im also happy to drop back down. Ive also stated that once i get to £300 i will withdraw £50. This is for a number of reasons which i wish to remain private, but in honesty i cant remember what its like to Withdraw. This will also allow my a little extra time at Nl10 on which i can spend developing my game. £500 the next target for moving on up. Although i may move up sooner than that. I just want to be rolled.
Took a full blown battering to say the least. Tbh i think i didnt find my feet at all. I jumped off the plane and forgot how to land a paracute. I had 3 major issues. A i wasnt running brilliant. B i couldnt find value. C i dont particularly played well.

Notes told me he has second pair here. Which makes the river even more tilting.
Welcome to the most depressing level on the site. H8 nl10. Thing is u gonna be here for ages too, need 400 for nl20. U thought nl4 was tough . . . . . . . . . . fyl. Posted by DOHHHHHHH
I actually really like NL10 although that's probably due to more proper limp, limp, calling station players. That QQ hand is tricky, you can't really fold pre imo, just cooler imo. Posted by Dudeskin8
i cant fold pre but by the turn i only beat Jacks,
Just a couple of questions to whomever feels the need to answer them from someone in a similar situation to The Don90.
I have now got just shy of $260 in my account after grinding through the levels. I am a BR nit fwiw. I wanted to move up to NL10 once i got to $250. My problem is that after having an absolutely hideous start to NL8 i found that i was at one point $50 down at NL8 (hands like running KK in to AA for example), i have now ground that back and now show a profit of $10 at that level. I dont feel i have bested that level as yet even though i feel very confident there. Just a profit of $10 doesnt sit easy with me. Should i stick around at NL8 a bit longer?
When i have played NL10 stuff, i have done really well and made good profit. Move up now?
Why have some commented on the fact that NL10 is a horrible level? Explanation please?

Horrible level because i takes so long tog et out of it.
start with £200 and need £400 to get out so thats 20buy ins. where as alot of levels you not need to win as many buy ins to level up.
FWIW i think you can play NL10 with 25 buy ins happily esp if you have been turning a profit at it all ready.
I'm hopefully will be playing tonight so there's loads of value down about 5 buyins recently at it (think i need to stop playing any 2)
@ Don - he had KK here well done to the dealer but what if he has AK, wouldn't getting it in pre be better ?
@ Sharp - You don't need £260 to start playing NL10, imo £220 is more than enough maybe less. Oh and you play with POUNDS on Sky not DOLLARS ££££££££££££££££££££, sorry it's tilted me for a while now.
@ pianoplaya - got it. I started with 8 quid at NL4 so i am used to being stuck at one level for ages. ;-)
@ Dudeskin - lmao, dunno where my 'pound' sign is on this **** keyboard so have resigned myself to the fact that i have to use dollars. It tilts me too but i dont know how to change it, i think the keyboard settings were set up incorrectly on this darn laptop. Sorry.

Night session part 2
Looking over the HH of the last session i wasnt happy with 2 things, A) standing with that much value around.
Anyways i sat back down and yes it was turblent but ive managed to recover some losses. Again however i made a few daft calls.
Recovered losses well and learnt something in doing so. Dont leave the table when theres a fish around. Im leaving now as i need to go to asda and the guy who i felt had most value took his 500BB and ran. I was just sitting waiting for a spot but it wasnt fothcomming.
JJ shove river
JT is an easy fold on turn, I'm not sure I lead flop 5way
Lone session
Ive already broke the most ive ever had for a months C4P with still half the month to go.
tbh im about rolled for my target for moving up, NL8 has been a rollercoaster ride, although tbh it was an mtt win losing at cash for 2/3 days then ive ebeen winning since.

Early morning session
Tbh this session didnt last long, due to tables dying constantly. In the end i decided to stop for now and wait for more value later. I tried NL8 was only one game running and it was full, NL4 was full of shorties so NL10 shot seemed ok. I managed to get onto 2 tables and get some imprtortant notes.
Im not sure what my Profit/loss will be on NL10 yet as really i ahvent been able to get a full assessment of what fair and what isnt. So since theres 3 winning hand above £1 ill show them and whatever losing hands.
Small winning in a small session from NL10 although alot of hands there im not happy with. Tbh i think its going to take a week or so to properly settle into NL10 but im happy to do that.
