In Response to Re: Get in the Hole! 2015 Season! : Very Humble. Completed some very decent poker highs and achievements for Joesman1/Neil Strike in 2014. Best of luck in life, poker and golfing picks to everyone on the golfing forum for 2015. Posted by TheDart
Thanks Jerome, u never know, u could be the next UKPC champion!!
Nice tip Neil. I'm a fan of Victor's as well and 66/1 is very generous. If I have anymore decent binks through the year I may spray a few £ e/w on him on all majors for this year. Posted by FlashFlush
Then Charles I'm sure u will have plenty of opportunities to increase your stake on Dubuisson if every time u bink u add to it. Are u thinking of playing the UKPC?
Yeah hopefully I'll be there. Would nice to be wearing branded TSP stuff! If not I'll try sattellite or sell some action. By hook or by crook I'll be there as they say lol Posted by FlashFlush
As I only have to commit to one week at a time (I think I've understood it correctly) and I only have to play 2 tables at once, I'll give TSP a go too.
Right then here we go, even though both tours started the 2015 season last year, it feels like a new year to me.
I spent a bit of time going over last years results and am going to make a concerted effort, not to always ignore the more obvious, in search of 'better value'.
I might not see this through, but for the time being I've decided to keep tally of my losses or what's that other word beginning with P?
It's difficult to have too much confidence for the first events of the year, so it's a tentative, speculative start.
Hyundai Tour Championship
Jason Day - 15/2, 1 point win, normally his price would mean I skip right past him, but in a shortened field of 34, I suppose the bookies can be excused.
I like the fact that he didn't go to Australia in December and with Cameron Tringale he won the one event he did play, which was the Franklin Shoot Out.
Hunter Mahan - 25/1, 0.5 points ew, he played this event 3 times, with two nowhere and a 5th place. Clearly, if on his game he can win this and 25/1 looks a little big.
Brendon Todd - 33/1, 0.5 points ew, Icouldn't make my mind up between Mahan and Todd, so with low stakes this week, I justified to myself that I could back both.
First time here, but he's played the Sony Open in Hawaii twice and came away with a 13th and 20th place finish, he also has good results at Pebble Beach and a win in Texas. All venues where the wind can be a factor as it can be this week.
Nick Taylor - 200/1, 0.5 points ew, Tour rookie who got his first win in only his 4th event on tour and was very impressive in doing so. Former amateur world no. 1 and scored the lowest round ever (65) by an amateur in a major at the US Open in 2009.
Already delivered big things and promises much more, he deserves to be at the Tour Championship and 200/1 is just a little too disrespectful and too tempting to ignore.
Difficult to get too excited about anyone here, the bookies have got hold of the names and it looks to be a field full of if, whens and maybes.
JBE Kruger - 22/1, 0.5 points ew, I almost gave my top spot to Branden Grace, but old habits die hard and I couldn't persuade myself to back two favorites in a week.
So last years runner up, who also has good recent form, JBE Kruger gets my vote at a still not so wonderful 22/1.
Edoardo Molinari - 35/1, 0.5 points ew, on his way back from injury and after changing coach and swing, new Edoardo came close to a win on a number of occasions last season.
Not on the same course, but he does have a tied 4th in the South African Open and local form is never a bad thing.
Anders Hansen - 70/1, 0.5 points ew, after having considerable success in South Africa including winning the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit in 2009, Anders Hansen has seemed to pretty much ignore South Africa since 2010. I'm not sure why, maybe it was a case of 'been there done that'.
Well he's back on a happy hunting ground this week and at 70/1 I'm hoping the good memories will convert to a good week on the course.
Johan Edfors 250/1, 0.5 points ew, you pays your money you takes your chances with Johan Edfors.
I imagine Johan Edfors is still like a bear with a sore body part. After winning a Challenge Tour Event in October, he talked about how relieved he was to get back onto the main tour, as it looked like that win would be enough to see him finish top 15 in the Challenge Tour Order of Merit. Unfortunately he earned less than 4,000 Euros in the last 4 events and dropped outside the top 15 after the final event.
He did play the Alfred Dunhill before Christmas and was going along very nicely on 4 under, two shots off the lead after 14 holes of his first round, he then proceeded to quadruple bogey the 15th and finish with a triple bogey on the last for good measure. He then came back the next day to shoot an 81 and finish 153rd!
In 2006 Johan Edfors won 3 times on tour, it was only 3 years ago that he finished 19th in the US Open, he clearly has the game to compete, if not always the temperament, at 250/1 I'll give him a chance this week.
After round 2 i was supsrised to see Swartchel so low at 2/1 on Betfair as he was 2nd in a bunched up field. I thought he,d be more
Now after round 3 i,m suprised you can still get 1.23 on him on at Betfair when he,s 5 shots clear. Could be worth a punt for someoneone with a lot of doh

Incredible. Absolute blow up in the last 5 holes.
I got Aiken placed but with it a 6 place tie for 5th my £5 e/w bet returned £1.67. Haha... Over to Jimmy now!

Charles mate I'm still in a state of shock.
I took the opposite view of MP33 Friday lunchtime when I could see Els and the other late starters were struggling. My man Coatzee was out, and I wanted an interest, and I stupidly thought Schwartzel's 'C' game was enough to beat the other players near the leader board.
Obv' 2/1 was no good, so I put him in with 3 shortish priced horses running on Friday. McCoy held on by a whisker having being 12 lengths in front of his persuer jumping the last. The other two cruised in. All of a sudden I was looking at a 2k return for a £50 acca. So I sat down to watch the 3rd round with eager anticipation. More so after he birdied the 1st four holes and Sullivan bogied them!! Although I knew he'd blown the same tournie last year, no way would lightening strike twice I thought.
How the f@ck has someone with his class allowed a 5 shot lead go in the last 6 holes inc 2 par fives?? Did I cash out?? no need I thought. Even as he stood on the EASY par 3 17th I could have backed Sullivan @ 4/1. No need I thought, Schwartzel will get his act together now, then he produced the worse shot of his professional career. I hurriedly looked to back Sullivan, he was even money by now. Fab!!! Did I bsck Sullivan in the play off to guarantee a profit at least? Nope!!
Roll on Zach, wonder what f@ck up he's got instore!! When will us punters ever learn??

I was going to have a moan - Didn,t watch last round but would have normaly laid him but htought 1.23 or 1.24 was slightly to big. I did use my £10 inplay bet for Sullivan after round 2 at 10/3 but still lost out on what should have been £90 - Got £33 in the end but after joes story things could be worse- Thats just UL- J
Just wish id watched it tho as he must have got to a price where he would have been easily layable as the collapse did,t come right till the end

Well he was 1/200 in running with the normal bookies stood on the 14th tee... Well done MP
Oh my I was travelling today, so completely missed the last day of the South African Open, sounds like there was a massive wreck with multiple men down!
Deepest commiserations to all those that suffered losses and here's me, thinking this week was a low key start to the year.
The Desert Swing starts next week, looks a good quality field with plenty of past course form and 'Desert' form to go on.
I reckon we'll find the winner of this one.
In the meantime good luck with Jimmy Walker and Zach Johnson, I hope they finish in a place behind Brendon Todd
Already had a little look on the European tour for this week and had a little go even though the PGA tour hasn't finished yet!
Gone for some long shots. Plenty of very good short priced players, so fancied a little look at e/w chances.
David Howell - 150/1 - Showed some good results last year, and did finish 6th here 2 years ago. Probably a shot to nothing, but do have a soft spot for Howell as I've mentioned before for what he did for a mutual friend of ours.
Eddie Pepperell - 150/1 - Achieved some really good finishes towards the end of last year, and I think it's a big case of easily forgotten as I'm sure he was put as one of the favourites for events before the desert swing last year. (Also another local lad)
Raphael Jacquelin - 125/1 - Very hit and miss of late, but with plenty of wins in the past he is more than capable. Finished last week with the lowest round, a 66, so signs are looking good.
