Very happy with that, knew I'd had a good week.

Gill comes down today until Tuesday, so dieting will get whole lot harder. It's easy to do when living alone, but when in company, not so much. We are off out for the day on Monday, too, with Lunch planned, so increased calories & less exercise will mean a bad week.

12 stone is the target, so 3 more weeks should do the trick, provided I can keep the discipline a little longer. Been a tough one this year, my daily walks since January 5th now add up to a total of 672 miles.

Ridiculous how easy it is to put weight on & how hard it is to lose it.

    Hi All,
The plan is to restrict the calorie intake to 1500 per day, I am also thinking about maybe one or two days a week lowering that to 600 per day. I used to have a Fitbit wristband and although it is only a guide to how far you have walked and how many calories burned, I found it a useful thing.
So I am going to buy a new one as the old one broke.
As far as exercise is concerned, I plan to walk between 10 and 20 miles per day.
I don’t find the actual walking a problem, it’s the getting out and pounding the same pavements day after day on my own, a tad boring. The longest journeys start with the first step.
    Time to get moving.

**** ****, that's what I call going in at the deep end. 1500 calories a day is tough, 10-20 miles a day is insane.
    Good luck.

I think I am starting to fully understand the meaning of static!!!!
Do wish that Tikay would give us a glimpse of his diet plan, I am seriously beginning to believe the 'Tikay Diet Plan' is now at the publishers for its proof reading.
Inspired by PompeyNic I am going to cut my calorie intake from 1750 to 1500 starting tomorrow. Today is Grove day.

    Hi all

    Starting weight = 19st 3lbs

    Week one. = 18st 3lbs

So after last weeks tears and self hatred, a very good result.
First week weight loss is always the best, but I had not dared to think I could lose a stone in a week.
A lot of it will be fluid loss, I know that, and I did weigh myself an hour earlier this week, you do get heavier through the day, but I think it is fair to say that is a great start.
This week brings its own complications, bank holiday weekend, with family descending from all parts of the country, means trips to pubs, coffee shops and restaurants are all looming on the horizon. I will need to make some sensible choices if I am to avoid the dieters most heinous crime, a weight gain.
On the plus side we will be doing a lot of walking, the more active you are, the more calories you burn, the more you can, in theory, consume. However if a loss is to be achieved, I need to be sensible.
Second week is always a small loss, if any at all, and with all the family stuff going on this weekend, I must not get too down on myself this time next week if I do not lose loads.
Good luck to all who are fighting the good fight.

    Awesome-well done, Nick.

In contrast, I remain at 18-07. Bah.

That's a fabulous start Mick @pompeynic , very well done mate.

You seem to know the basics of dieting quite well. Burn more than you consume etc, it's that simple, & exercise is a great calorie burner.

Yes, it gets harder now, but with a 1 stone loss in the books already, that's exactly the kick-start you needed.

Well done mate, chuffed to bits for you.

A satisfactory week as another lb disappears.

Was unable to do my walks a couple of days this week for one reason or another, so guess I ought to be pleased with a loss, albeit a small one.

Just 1.75lbs to go now, & I'm done.

Should manage that in 2 weeks, but I'm undecided if i should continue until I go to Vegas. Guess I could get down to 11-10 or so if I did. Will probably carry on until the end of May & then quit.

Every pound you lose before you go to Vegas, counts towards a guilt free sticky bun latte combo
    Once you get there.
I have been drooling at the burger and milkshake menu at the black tap restaurant at the Venetian. Think I’ve put two pounds back on already.

    Another week of no movement.
Tried really hard this week, with average daily steps well over 15,000 and every day under 1,700 calories intake.
Beginning to think that 13'8 is the limit I will get to.
    We go again.

    @68Trebor

"daily steps well over 15,000 and every day under 1,700 calories intake".

That's extraordinary. You really should be losing plenty of weight with that amount of intake & exercise.

A very odd week for the diet & exercise programme.

Illness has prevented me from doing my 3 daily 2 mile walks for the entire week. These burn a lot of calories, so I feared that missing out on all the walking would result in zero weight loss, maybe even a gain.

Set against that, have eaten far less this week due to complete loss of appetite.

On balance, I was not expecting to lose weight, so a three quarters of a pound loss was a nice surprise.

Now just 1lb short of my 12st target. If I feel able to get back on the exercise this week, the diet could be over by next Friday. Think I'll target a fortnight today, just to be safe.

GL everyone with the health kicks.

Oh my, that is some going Tikay, quite the effort since the start.

    This week for myself:

    13:5:6

Last week never posted but was 13:8, so quite happy to be back on track again.

    Hi all,

    Starting weight = 19st 3lbs

    Week one. = 18st 3lbs
    Week two. = 18st 0lbs

After the large loss in week one, coupled with a bank holiday weekend, family visits and lots of feasting going on, I am reasonably happy with a three pound loss.
I managed to enjoy the company and trips to cafes, pubs and restaurants without going mad as I would normally do. I ate more than I should over the weekend, but cutback my calorie intake the rest of the week to compensate. The only thing that I could have done better was on the exercise front. Four days this week I have hardly walked a step, so this week I need to get back out there and pound those pavements.
Four weeks yesterday I will be travelling to Vegas, my new target is to have the scales read 16st something the morning of the flight. It’s a big ask, but shoot for the moon and even if you miss, you may hit the stars.
Good luck to all fighting the good fight this week.
    Nick
