    Brilliant stuff, gents
    Gordon- Cannon combo was Lethal,
Gpc, under wraps, agree, no world beater, also had the 3 runs, bet you a Pint! Gosden gets at least two handicap Wins, out of Under Wraps, in the next 6 months

Only, because I obviously, like you few fellas
Cant name the owner, you few, should be able to work it out
Yard, is Simon Dows, when Callum rides, for certain owner, pay microscopic attention, it has been done, plenty times in 2020,and,done very clever, without prices getting smashed up!

    Skybet, are superb for promos
    don't miss this tonight

    Gpc
the Evens Dettori, don't know bout you?
Skybet usually let me have, £10 and £10 and...
they lay it, to everyone for plenty, and depending on liability, even if you get the 'full message' sometimes, when you ask for another tenner, and another, and another, etc, they accommodate.

Anyway, Evs, is value, Dettori hot pot as, short as 4-7, and he has 3 other chances, excellent racing at Meydan, I reckon Frankie and the boys, not in much rush, to catch a, plane home!

    Five Star Ante Post Bet
    Kentucky Derby May 1st
right now, WH will lay you, 16-1 ew fifth odds 1 2 3
20 points each way, at 16s
    The horse? its Godolphins
    It's name PREVALENCE
here, once raced, destroying quality horses, hack canter, 15 lengths, going away

Just to tidy up yesterday's business
With Promise 2nd 4-1 sp 7-2 traded as short as 15-8 during the day.
given the standard super ride by Callum, furlong out, thought it was going to win

Dettori won the UAE 1000 Guineas at Meydan, must have been 10 clear turning in, however, might have been very different, if the D Watson trained, once raced Mnasek, hadn't lost 10 lengths at the start, made up a huge amount of ground, running on second, and defo, one to follow, MNASEK

Frankie being Frankie, then proceeds, to get the double up, in the very next race, winning a nose, on the Surror trained Bedouins Story won 10-1

this gladened my heart, yesterday. Callum retweeted this
Ti's a letter, written by Richard Johnson's young daughter Willow, to Boris Johnson!

Got three Anecdotes for you all! today
one from 1983 & one from 1993,and one from 1999
Which one first? A planned round betting COUP, in a Frank Bruno fight! or a Wiilie Carson masterclass, in how not to be a competent top jockey,or the NICK DUNDEE story.

OK, Carson first, 1993 Cheshire Oaks, TV commentator Graham Goode, needed specsavers, still calling the wrong 'winner' after the line, and Carson, ought to have been strung up.
    Basheyeer

    Remember? heard of Stewie Lithgo
the hard punching, HARD punting hard drinking Northern Heavyweight 'Pro boxer'
Came down to London, to fight Bruno in 83, Stewie going to take a dive, in the 3rd,so much so, his own trainer, had a chunk on! After 3 rounds, Stewie, doing well, trainer in corner, going cranky! Stewie tells his trainer, I can win this, 43 seconds into the 4th,Bruno stops him!

Nick Dundee, oh what this horse, could, would have been
Nick, had run three times, won three times, all ridden by Norman Williamson
Won, beat 15 by 15 lengths
Won, beat 9 by 30 lengths
Won, beat 6 by 15 lengths
Then, went to Cheltenham 1999 for the Royal & Sun Alliance, had, a top class field, strung out bar Looks Like Trouble, was cantering, and then disaster, 2nd last.
Do watch the race, but I must add this, the injury looked career ending, it wasn't.
Near, 2 years later, incredibly, Nick Dundee raced again, and sauntered in, at Navan, by 7 lengths.

Just need, a bit, just a little bit, of run good, at the Poker tables 😉

    @misterpj

It would be better if you break these lengthy posts into several individual posts. There's way too much there for one post & it makes it difficult to read or reply.

That last post would, ideally, be 5 or 6 separate posts, one for each of the subjects. That makes them all more readable, & easier to reply to.

    Good Morning

3 bets, on a cold wet January Saturday.

been brought to my attention, better and more concise explanations of bets.
Said it, before, not great at the written word, for several genuine reasons.

To make a sentence, read like it's been composed by Susie Dent, takes me a supreme effort, really does, as does, 'spellcheck'

I stand by, every bet on this thread, that's run, and due to run, over the next few months

For example, by chance, I caught the debut effort of Prelavence, Jan 23rd,not fancied on debut, in the Godolphin camp, was yoyoing between 6s and 7s,and obviously stateside tote.

A Godolphin 3yo,on debut, a drifter, not fully wound up, its breeding reads all over Kentucky Derby, even though Prelavence is not being asked to extend, going to the line, it is putting more distance, between itself, and very good horses, can't remember the commentator, but, you can here the 'awe' in his voice, Prelavence, double digits, WOW.

IF, Prelavence, is not a 3 yo, out of the very Top Drawer, I will give the game up, it's a VALUE BET, in my humble opinion, and 16-1 still freely available.

What is, and is not, a value bet, divides opinion, always, a hundred to one on shot, can be value! if, and only if, it is past the post, and Weighed In.

So, 3 bets today, are they value? I believe so.

Bet 1,is a 4yo,ex Michael Stoute, after a 235 day break, came back, won at Lingfield, at 11-1
Then, it has done this, another 225 day break, plus a trainer change, Stoute> to G Boughey ( don't worry, trainer no fool, at all) and, had the wind operation.
A trainer change, and a wind op, is always an interesting angle.
So is, a blow the cobwebs away pipe opener at Kempton, couple weeks ago.

Now, today, its back,... at LINGFIELD
    15.30
    No 4 ATHEEB
only 6 to beat, 7-2 everywhere, 8 points win

    16.55 Kempton
    No 2 DUSTY DAMSEL
you can put a line, through half this low grade field, straight away, half of them are boats!
course form, lto, simply cannot see this not being involved at the finish. 5 of these, could start now, and still not be involved
'only 5 to beat!' 7-2 everywhere 8 points win
yes, both 7-2 chances, best, and everywhere
    2 point each way double BOG 7-2 & 7-2

    Even Money SHISKIN!
short as 2-11 and a general 5s On.
    Doncaster 13.30
Apple of Hendos eye, best in yard, 'they put this in Sprinter Sacre & Altior class'
    Evens?
Well, yes, but needs to win,..... 4 lengths or more
20 win even money, SHISKIN 4 L or more

these, are my words, not 'robbed' off any racing paper, any racing channel, any tipping line, etc.

    Best of luck Paul J.

and you, by the way dont think anybody on here " robs" as theres no point basking in reflected glory.

    Zero basking in any glory!

If me putting bets up, offends, no bother, I can leave it at that.

    Today SHISKIN WON 8 + lengths, 20.00 win Evens + 20.00
Today DUSTY DAMSEL WON advised 8 points at 7-2 sp 5-2 + 28.00
Today ATHEEB was beat, a neck, head, nose, turning in at Lingfield (going well) two things, obviously you want a clear run, any momentum lost, at that stage is vital, and tight, up the inside rail, at Lingfield, is not the golden highway, at least a yard off the rail is.
Lost 8 points on ATHEEB, 4 points on the double, make that + 36 on the day.

running prior to today - 55.05
    running after today - 19.05

How about joining the clan in Brrr's Naps table , starts next Saturday , or the Jackpot Naps, first day was today but with all the big winners at Doncaster which none of us got you wouldnt start much behind the rest of us. Especially me who could only pick a Non Runner and six losers.

Think you'll find we are all pretty friendly.

    posting 22.45 Sat evening.

should the Naas meeting should go ahead, Sunday.
the 16.15 on the card, is the 3 mile Hunter Chase.

    16.15 Naas Racecard Number 9
IT CAME TO PASS 2.5 points each way 11-1 standout, general 9s

Know the horse? you should do.
Ten months ago, at the Cheltenham Festival, this won the Cheltenham Fox Hunters, by half the track, under the brilliant outstanding (amateur) Maxine O'Sullivan at 66-1!
Cheltenham was 3m 2f, It Came To Pass (trained by Maxines father) not raced at all, since then, save for a 'pipe opener' ran well over 2m 7f early November. Tomorrow, at Naas, back to 3m 1f (we'll 3m 176 yards!) yes, going will be heavy, but at 11-1, brilliant horse, brilliant jockey

If? like me, anyone reading this, loves, all and everything racing, I highly recommend, you enjoy, two winning rides by Maxine O'Sullivan, who rides with ice in her veins, whether riding a 66-1 chance or a 2-9 chance. In fact, at 23.20,going to watch Maxines winning rides on It Came To Pass and Dreal Deal, again, she is brilliant

Not trying to teach anyone, how to suck an egg! many ways to see historical race replays, but, maybe some on here, don't know? 'sky' are affiliated to the Sportinglife, top right hand corner, click sportinglife, you can put any horse in search, click on any race, up will come the result, scroll to the bottom, every race replay is available.

I think, 11s, is overpriced, and worth a bet ew

Affiliated? They own Sporting Life. In fact, Sky Bet, Paddy Power, Betfair Exchange, Betfair Sportsbook, Oddschecker, Timeform, Sporting Life, PokerStars, Fanduel, EasyBet etc are all part of the Flutter group.

    Dear Tony (mentor)!

You know and I know, I was simply trying, to let anyone know, who might not have been aware! that via the sportinglife, www.sportinglife.com (if a Skypoker client) Skybet etcetera
Comprehensive historical (free) racing library, all races.

Unlike your good self, a wordsmith I can never be, but, I try (fail)

NAAS 07.30 inspection cleared to Race

Anyone, who likes a bet, long range, mid range ante post bets, been very profitable for me, for nearly 40 years.

Spent most of the last two hours, pouring over the Champion Hurdle, with talksport in the background, a miracle itself, lasted an hour and a half, Natalie Sawyer and the Ice Cream Man, 'easy on a Sunday morning'

In just 37 days time, the 2021 Cheltenham Festival gets underway
Be gutted if the Irish Contingent don't come, I think they will, a good pal has the opposite view.
    Champion Hurdle
    already got ( both nrnb)
    Saint Roi 10 ew 10-1
Goshen 3 ew 16-1 (just in case! yes, I know Goshen not trained in the Emerald Isle) took the shorter price for the nrnb
¤ GOSHEN ¤ just ten short months and only 4 runs ago, Goshen was handing out, a routing in the Triumph Hurdle, sickening unseat at the last, would have won, 20 lengths eased, to the likes of Aspire Tower, and the former Newmarket lunatic horse! that no work rider would ride! All Man Kind. All Man Kind single figures 3rd fav for this seasons Arkle Novice Chase. It did occur to me, wonder if the Moores, have contemplated putting Goshen over a fence. Goshen will only run, in the Champion Hurdle, if Gary Moore, feels he has got the horse, 100%

And now, time to add one more. Which you can back today, at 50-1.
    These reasons
    (1) being trained for the race
    (2) going straight to the race, had its prep run, WON made all, bolted up
    (3) should the Irish horses not come, reckon 50s into 14s!
    (4) it's a front runner, point, shoot type of a horse, and sometimes, speculating at 50s pays off.
If you don't back, 50-1 chances, you will never back a 50-1 winner

Trying to make this 'fun' not reflected glory hunting

you can have 40-1 nrnb if you wish
    Advise 2.5 points each way at 50-1 a fifth odds a, place 1 2 3 Skybet
Can you think of the horse?
    It's jumps form
    1 1 0 pu - us 1
last six runs, 3 wins, an unseated, a pulled up and a duck egg
the pulled up, was in last years Champion Hurdle!
The 3 wins, all 2 miles, all Ascot, and its Champion Hurdle 'prep' was a winning one, in a £57,000 class 1

Not aware, of this being advised, as a bet, by anyone, anywhere, on the planet

50-1 NOT SO SLEEPY each way for the Champion Hurdle 'quirky, yes' talented, oh yes yes, slick jumping front runner, oodlems of stamina.

The Godolphin 3 yo, I have waxed lyrical about, PREVALENCE, its breeding screams Kentucky Derby, but! only 1 UK bookmaker, has introduced Prelavence into the Epsom Derby betting.
And, they have put Prelavence in, at 50s, just in case, the boys in blue go for Epsom Derby glory, rather than Kentucky Derby glory, have 1 point each way Prelavence a fifth odds 1 2 3 Epsom Derby, and the UK bookmaker is 😉😊👍 Skybet

NAAS is on, want to press up IT CAME TO PASS, ground not ideal, but the Evens fav is the horse IT CAME TO PASS beat out of sight, at Cheltenham, add another 1 point each way at 16s (standout) 12s General, 14s in a place

    Bet of the day
    15.10 Wolverhampton
    No 4 MUTARABES
grab the standout 11-8 at Billy's (WH) darn it, I am honest, just gone at 08.37
5-4 available everywhere 12 points win MUTARABES
it's one lifetime run, in that Newmarket maiden, was green, showed promise, that was a hot little race, David Probert rides, handbrake is off!

Best of luck, be lucky THIRD TIME LUCKI a most exciting prospect😉
  • misterpjmisterpj Member Posts: 3,339
    IT CAME TO PASS
pulled out, non runner, ground like a, peat bog
  • gpc70gpc70 Member Posts: 1,997
Morning Paul the main reason Not So Sleepy's form figures are all over the place is that as you no it's a bang front runner and twice it's been done at start, first time i think it was the Ladbroke's gold trophey false start then a standing start and it got crowded out misssed the break and was never in the race but it was a 20 odd runner handicap so easy to get the start wrong.
The champion hurdle may have a dozen runner's and if Sleepy get's into and early lead and hopefully with the excellent Tom O'Brien doing the steering then 50/1 is value for sure.
  • misterpjmisterpj Member Posts: 3,339
Tad of a frustrating day! entertaining mind
That Stewards, at Naas, longest ever!
14.45 Naas, start delayed, as Melly and Me got loose, and then much to the amusement of Ruby Walsh, et al, Melly and Me decided to play a game of catch me if you can, for ten minutes, hence, race start delayed.
You all know that saying, over in Ireland, 'triers to the front please!'
The starter, then proceeded to let them go, not remotely with the field in any sort of a reasonable line, resulting in, horses whipping round and unseating etcetera, comical stuff, 'result stands, weighed in'

frustrating on the day (1) IT CAME TO PASS getting pulled out. the winner, Billaway, is the horse It Came To Pass trounced at Cheltenham, Billaway won today at 8-11, current ante post betting on the Cheltenham Hunters, Billaway 10-3 fav It Came To Pass 10s 3rd fav, would just like to have seen it get a run, especially at 10s and 16s.
Point to Point racing currently suspended in Ireland, these are not good times.

frustrating on the day (2) 'we' sure got the Value! unfortunately' we' didn't get to eat it!
Mutarabes (11-8) a 08.35, 5-4 everywhere @ 08.40,then heavily backed, all day, went off 4-9, an ran like a Sloath

for a decade, 96 06, I religiously followed Emma's father Jack Ramsdens advice, back nothing, at shorter than 9-2, might be time, to reimplement that, permanently 👍

Gpc, meant to say, like Tom O'brien a lot. When Sleepy won at Kempton just pre Xmas, brilliant horsemanship pre off,(keeping Sleepy calm) and a brilliant ride, I think odds on, less than 10 line up, for the Champ Hurdle. Cheltenham only 6 weeks away, that track, not draining as it used too, and the weather, and the situation, not good times, obviously. Be safe, be lucky. Pj
